Which color is BEST on the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro? Super White, Lunar Rock or Midnight Black Metallic

- In this video I showcase three different colors on the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.
Of these three colors, what would you choose? Super White, Lunar Rock or Midnight Black Metallic? All solid choices.
As you’ll see, the 2021 black Tundra here has a few additional goodies. Let me know if you’d like a link to any of them in particular. Are these going to remain desirable after the 2022 Tundra is released? By numbers alone, we won’t stand a chance... haha.

Magnetic Gray is my favorite but out of these three I like the Lunar Rock.

Why get rid of the v8?
For anyone wondering what is the optimum tire size for the 2007-2021 Tundra that does not impact your MPG, it is the Nitto Ridge Grappler 285/70/18. These tires come in at 59.94 lbs while the 295/70/18 comes in at 69.44 lbs. That 4.30 rear end is able to turn that 285/70/18 pretty much with no issues impacting your mpg.
My first set I bought when I got my truck brand new and in town my 2021 got 15 city and 17-18 highway. Then at 68,000'ish miles I replaced them and went to the 295/70/18 and was blown away how bad my mileage was. It dropped to 13 city and 15-16 highway at best. Luckily, I only had them on my truck for a week and I took them back and put the 285/70/18's back on and it went right back to 15 city and 17-18 highway.
I'm sure the new Tundra's are even worse being a 3.31 rear end and a tiny over stressed turbo that hates extra weight. Good luck friends!!!

Voodoo blue is by far the best color, but out of these 3 I would take black
Voodoo is my favorite on the 4Runner... not sure why but I’ve never cared for it on the Tundra or Tacoma...

I put voodoo side to side with grey and army green, im kept my voodoo blue pro even with the 20, 21 upgrade

Mine is Metallic Black almost identical to that one. I decided on no inlay on the bed stamp to keep it pure black.
I want to loft mine that high. It's nice to see how it would look.

I like the black. It looks really boss. But I hear it’s definitely more maintenance to keep clean! Although I’m sure there’s products out there for it.

I’ll echo that... it’s splitting hairs for me. I love each of those... and I especially like some colors more on different platforms (ie. voodoo looks best on the 4Runner, etc...)

I have the Lunar Rock 2021. Love it. The voodoo blue was my other choice, but it’s a 2019.
Voodoo blue is sweet… but you’re right. 2019 lacked a lot of tech.
My preference would be

2 white
3 Lunar

Out of these three, I would go Super White or Lunar Rock. The Black is a little too monochromatic with black wheels, tint, etc.

Lunar Rock 1st choice. 2nd is white, 3rd black (and that's only cause its a PITA to keep clean).
I've own both black and white vehicles in the past. Black are time consuming when comes to cleaning. Haven't seen luner rock in person yet to comper.
Black is the most difficult... yet most rewarding imo. I had midnight black metallic on my 2020 land cruiser... and it was a chore to keep nice. 👍
Best 2 colors untamed!! LunaRock and White. Had the white and now getting the Luna. I’ll pass on the black. I love black only on my C7Z06!! Because it’s fully wrapped with clear wrap. AG 4runner is going. To fussy to have dark colors.

Can’t go wrong with white or lunar rock... black can be the death of someone if they have any type of OCD lol. However I just say... a freshly washed and waxed black vehicle can easily look the best. But how often are you able to keep it like that?...
@@UntamedMotors The only way on black from having it done. The only way to own a black car. Needs to be wrapped and ceramic coated. My black Vette is so easy to keep clean because of that. But it’s not cheap.

How often would you have to freshen up your black tundra? Also what kinda steps would you have to take to keep it lookin fresh like in this video? Not a car person myself but I love the black just want to know what I’m getting into when I get it, thanks!
Daily on the refresh. If it doesn't rain you can wipe it down with a California Duster and only have to hand wash when it rains. Use a detailer mist every 2-3 days. But if there is any moisture, rain, drizzle, fog the black shows it immediately and a hand wash is required. They look great when clean, but it's a lot of work.

I have the black tundra. Even with ceramic coating, it’s still hard to keep clean.

Does the ceramic coating help a little? With keeping dust and dirt hanging on to it? I have 2020 Trd Pro Tundra and also my wife’s black 2018 Sequoia. I’m thinking of getting both ceramic coated.
@@beethao5362 I ceramic coated my blue ZL1 before and it definitely helped keep dust and dirt off... 👍 is it perfect? No. But it’ll help.

You honestly can’t go wrong with either. Lunar Rock will hold a slightly better residual value over time because on the surface, a 21 white looks dang near identical to a 19... obviously there are subtle differences but a lunar rock screams 21. 👌🏻

What size are your tires?
They will remain great trucks. Especially if there is no V8 option. Trust me, I came from a V6 Raptor and almost everybody would prefer the 1st Generations motor.

My tires are 285/70/18, the other guys are running 35s 👌🏻
@@UntamedMotors when I change tires, and in no hurry to do so, I will stay with the stock size I think. For the guys complaining about mpg, when you size up on tires thats changing the gearing on the vehicle as you know.
They all look great but the black is my favorite.
I have the black and it look magnificent and the blingest(if that’s a word) out of all the color...that is only if it’s clean like right after a wash or detailing. I’m not gonna lie, it’s a pain to keep it clean but dang if only I could keep it clean like that always...

Hey man, I wish I did but I’ve purchased my Pros from a different dealership each time. The best advice is to do a nationwide search to find the best deal on paper then leverage that paperwork at the dealership closer to where you live... helps to do a 3 state radius. CA is notorious for markups... I’d just look out of state and not waste my time there lol.
Hi. I’m trying to decide between blizzard pearl and midnight black on a 22 sequoia. Given that you’ve had the black on an SUV, would you recommend this color to someone who will keep the car long term? The black is what my dealer has. All three look absolutely INCREDIBLE, but if I had to pick, I'll say white. Easiest by FAR to keep looking clean (even if it's not) and white has the best contrast to all of the other accenting colors.
You mentioned something about white paint not being as durable as a metallic based paint...first time I've ever heard that, but I guess that's a real bummer if it's true as I have a 2021 Tundra TRD PRO in WHITE that I currently have a $1k down payment on that has already been assigned a VIN # and has build date of 04/12/21.
I should be taking delivery of it sometime in late April. Now of course I'm going to have to talk to the dealership body shop to ask them exactly what you're referring to about white not being as durable of a paint. 😕🙂
I've never heard this. The metallic paints are a three stage rather than two but they all have a clear coat.
