Hard to tell. What little I have seen on the subject would imply that it might effective against the SA6s at long range. Certainly it is true that the SA6s don't engage a maximum range so maybe that's true.
The ECM pod reduces the range of engagement of several SAM like SA15, SA8, SA6, by about 20%. Pilot is still locked in STT but launch is delayed. I havent tried recently, but that should not have changed.
@@Sidekick65 I tested ECM pod with the Viggen and it was shocking the difference. Only tested it once though so there might have been other factors at play.

That would seem to be confirmed by our experience - and is important for this scenario
