Theorists, this analog horror game is giving major MANDELA CATALOGUE VIBES. The Longeyed Projects, chapters 1 and 2 ask you to pick out the "Longeyed" creatures from a set of two images. These alternate-like creatures are seriously CREEPY, so strap in, friends. We've got some analysis to do.

In MatPat's defense, I also think the picture at 10:30 was photoshopped. Though for me, it was more the space between the eyes than the nose
could be waardenburg syndrome as well. that also can explain the wider distance between the eyes as well
its definitelly both. the nose and the eye space were definitelly widdened.

Not just in the Caribbean that this term is used, here in South America, we use it more to someone envious, but its a cool fun fact

PLOT TWIST! Making the tests is in-and-of itself a project, AND MatPat doesn't get to take the test. So it's the worst of BOTH worlds for MatPat!
I’ll be honest, I would have invested a lot more time and effort into history classes if they had been called things like World Lore and American Lore.
The thumbnail of the little girl for the games looks like Madeline McCann that's low-key freaky to me 👀 ( she was a young British girl who disappeared on holiday in 2007, the picture looks like the picture that was put up everywhere in newspapers when she first went missing, for those unfamiliar with the story ).

@@angel.kiwi777 yeah that’s what I thought because when I looked at the actual photo of her, it looks exactly the same just edited, I just found it freaky because I had never seen it used for anything before let alone the game, though I suppose it makes sense for the games content and it’s interesting, but freaky that I immediately recognised it 😂

It is her. They haven't done a good job at diguising that and it's risky for them to use her. Investigations have still been active in recent years and I would not be surprised if the McCanns took the use of her likeness badly. They seem like the kind of people to get lawyers involved at the slightest thing based on times I've seen them on TV because it would potentially put eyes back on her by kicking up a bit of a stink, and the news would eat it up too feeding into that.
If they ever found out that is. I doubt they're big gamers or into analogue horror.
@@stephen-macdonald most likely not ( like them finding out because they most likely don’t know much about analogue horror ) but yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking it’s very risky for them to use a picture of her unless they didn’t know but surely they could’ve checked it out somehow. As soon as I saw it and checked it against the actual photo it was her and it was scary how I knew right away too. It’s also literally been 15 years since her disappearance so the investigators being active in recent years makes sense. Definitely risky to use that as a thumbnail for a game, though like you said though they’d be on this straight away I’m not sure how likely they are to find out about something like this. They definitely haven’t done a good job at all, it’s not even that edited I don’t think either. Thank you for confirming though cause I saw it and immediately said “that’s Madeline McCaan” because it was very obvious that they had used the most famous photo of her to date ( that’s why I knew / had a feeling it was her ).
I thought Longeyed project was almost a full rip of the assessment examination Mat played at the start of Mandela catalog review.
Edit: Just rewatched GTLive Assessment Examination and its basically a reskin or rebuilt from scratch. I think it may have enough original content to be a moot point but I'd like to know which came first.
iirc assessment exam came first; longeyed is just copied homework.
even the segment with the child outside is almost verbatim between the two - but assessment is much much better written and voiced.
@@Armund_Wolffe I don't mind if a game copies multiple concepts and aesthetics from another game. They can take it and put their spin on it and that's fine by me.
But that part with the child was the exact same except done very poorly. I don't know what they were thinking? When someone takes a story and basically copy it word for word... It's not the same as copying the gameplay stuff.
This just feels like low effort all around.

I would like to recommend playing a nancy drew game. They are detective point and click games. I would specifically recommend the ghost of Thornton hall. It's an amazing game, and I would love to see your rection to it. 😊
Literally some of the best point and click games I've ever played. My favorite is probably Secret of the Old Clock, or Shadow at Water's Edge (though that's also the scariest one imo).
I live for the nacre drew games but I used to be so scared of some of them 😭😭

I love Sporcle. They reformatted the website recently and it looks a bit odd, honestly, but it's still very good.
The first thing MatPat seems to always do in these kinds of games is selecting the "run away" or "EJECT" option on the title screen.
46:15 Lunky (the picture you chose at 47:16) is a character Mark created "as a crude facsimile of Lixian" (Lixian is one of his main editors; you can see his character on the left at 47:16 and he often appears in Mark's videos). The whole thing seems like a teaser for a project that will involve Lixian in some way.
as for the "big nose lady", the thing that is throwing it off big time is the spacing between eyebrows. its been widened.
With the others that Lunky has in the tubes are defect Rachel and NerdFiction so it seems that we're gonna have editor vs fake editor battle

8:30 that nose is totally real! i feel like, especially if you have a slightly unhealthily low weight, that's entirely within reason, more so even considering the angled perspective. i've definitely seen people who look similar, its possible

I'm actually the exact opposite I love projects but hate tests, especially closed note ones. I don't feel like I get to apply what I learned as well with tests and projects give me a chance to understand what I learn.
Take it from a Disney kid. The two best times to go to Disneyland, or Disneyworld I suppose too, is Super Bowl Sunday or Wednesday. Especially when it’s raining.

it's not hard to get a perfect score if you super score it (which he said he did). getting a perfect score on the first try? that's hard. but if you super score it you can just study whichever individual segment of the test that you want to do the best on. the other tests don't matter, you don't even really have to fill in all the answers. you just need to study one. get a perfect score on that one section, take it again and study a different section, repeat until you have a perfect score on every section and super score it. basically, you only count the highest score every time you take it, so you end up with a perfect score.
Ya'll should really check out the Monument Mythos/Nixonverse. both fun and interesting (if you do, start with the monument mythos).

At 10 minutes (ish) when the two photos appeared i at first thought the first one was long eyed, until I saw the second one. So I don’t blame Mat for thinking the image is photoshopped. I agree there’s something not right about the proportions - the chin seems too small as though some of it has been tucked under, and the right side (our right) of her face looks too small or hollow or something in comparison to the left.
I wouldn't mind a 1 hour video of GT Live just watching random youtube videos

The whole thing about never being alone and making friends in your head gives me pure anxiety- my self conscious has always felt like a seperate being, sometimes iv wondered if they created me or i created them since we are basically polar opposites and argue in my own head, they have memories I do not recall yet I recognise perfectly. I am a zookeeper in chicago and I regularly feed the hippos day old sausages so they have a taste of their home. I put strings on the sausages and swing them around the hippos they get so mad at me and scream but it's an obsession sometimes the hippos try and break out of their cages but I keep swinging those hotdogs in wide circles over their heads. Luckily my boss doesn't know I do this and doesn't have youtube either HAHA

In school, I wasn't particular fond of homework, essays, tests, et cetera. But outside of school, I really enjoy it. I used to write essays every so often just for fun.
