  • People will forget what you say, they’ll forget what you did, but they’ll always remember how you made them feel.
Unfortunately, many business communication agencies have gotten away for too long with half-baked communication that is as lazy as it is boring. Take a quick spin to your latest medical, industrial, or logistical communications and you'll find something written by monkey lawyers with typewriters. Awkward smiles, unflattering lighting, and choppy interviews ruin the connection, and are unacceptable in this day and age.
Relationships have always been grounded in feelings, and in a digital age it’s easy to lose this connection, and consequently lose the relationship.
In this case we're talking to employees - f you're talking to your employees you probably want to make an actual connection. These communications can be make or break opportunities - if employees feel disrespected or uncared for, the consequences can be massive.
Just because you're not selling sneakers to skaters doesn't mean you can afford to skimp out on emotional resonance - in fact, the industries where this is used the least are often also the ones where it makes the biggest difference. You can choose to slide another message by that mildly annoys people, or you can take the time to make their day.

This comparision would be great to show a potential client when I am trying to explain why a video cost so much. Talking to them about quality rarely works. I try to explain the visuals and the storytelling aspect, but it goes over their head with some of them. Since I am not a salesperson, for me it is more about finding the clients that get it and see the value in what I do.

I totally agree - if someone doesn't fundamentally value what you're offering, no amount of comparisons is going to change that. How do you find the people who do value your work?

@@ebourcier Ideally, my work would be so unique that they find me by name. It seems I am not in that category yet. What would help is to be very specific about the type of client I am looking for as opposed to whoever is willing to pay me :) My portfolio, my website, and branding should speak directly to that specific client. I got work to do.

absolutely love this! Crazy comparison between the "cellphone" video and what you created. The story is way more impactful
