    I later discovered that it is normal for the front display to disappear when the 'CD Direct' button is pressed.......it' shown in the owners manual.

      @@Istso-ob5jd Sorry, I am probably not the person to ask about this. I repair, but don't have any helpful recommendations. I suggest you look up various amps and check reviews. That is what I usually do.

    Fraternal greetings. I live in Brazil. I have a Yamaha R-V1105 receiver on my workshop bench. The Yamaha R-V1105 does not turn on when I press the power key: the relay turns on and off immediately. The front display also doesn't light up. Could the companion help me? Giving me repair tips.

      Have you tried all the testing and suggestions shown in the video?

    Hi . You have given me the motivation to repair my A-520 amplifier. I haven't been doing any repairs on amplifiers but my relay isn't clicking? Power comes on but I haven't used the old Yamaha for over 10 years. Lol. Cheers. Subbed and liked 👍

      Great news! Give it a go. Just keep in mind you are dealing with dangerous high voltage.

    Nice videó. My 797 display is very dim. Can I fix it? Or just a replacement?

      Sorry, I couldn't answer that without doing testing. Have you checked for dimness settings?

    Good day, I have a yamaha rx v393 and when I put the power button on it goes on for a second and relay goes on then immediately off. Do you think it could be a simple factory reset with the buttons as you did or what.. I have checked the power supply, transformer, outputs and switching transistors yet its still the same. What buttons do I press to get into that mode. Pls help 🆘

    • @MiracleMAX
      @MiracleMAX  Před 9 měsíci

      I don't believe it will be a factory reset. A link to a service manual is in the video description. Do you have standby voltage? Did you check the caps with an ESR meter? Do you have the appropriate voltages at the rails?

      @@MiracleMAX HI there I believe it to be the voltage regulators as I have tested it and one of them are giving me little to know voltage, I'll be replacing both regulators.
      I have tried those codes, however did not work on my model

    I removed the secondary wire of the power transformer and found that all the wire ends were connected to each other. Can you help me determine?

    • @MiracleMAX
      @MiracleMAX  Před 8 měsíci

      As shown in the video at the transformer, each set of coloured wires should have continuity with one another.

    • @tranlephan6706
      @tranlephan6706 Před 8 měsíci

      @@MiracleMAX I measured that the 84v coil is connected to the 30v coil and the 66v coil. that is, the secondary windings are all connected, so I think the transformer is shorted.

      @@MiracleMAXSo do you think the two red wires are connected to the pair of purple or blue wires?

    • @MiracleMAX
      @MiracleMAX  Před 8 měsíci

      @@tranlephan6706 You can have transformers that are 'tapped', which would be connected to one another, however (it's not shown in the wiring diagram) in this case, as the wires are specific colours, I believe that they are individual secondaries, not electrically connected to one another, to create individual rail voltages
      This might help explain things a little better.

    • @tranlephan6706
      @tranlephan6706 Před 8 měsíci

      @@MiracleMAXI also find it strange that the pair of red wires are connected to other wires. This transformer has a voltage of +_ 35v for power, +_ 15v for amplifier circuits. These two voltage lines can be ground together by the black wire. But the red wire must be separate. I see that the red wire is also connected to the other primary wires. please reply. Thank!
