It is a lot easier to put the piston on the rod first not the jug im 12 years old and i got the head on in about 5 mins from the end of putting the cases together cases
Yes sir, it was already on the crank shaft when I was putting everything back together. The old flywheel was stuck on so bad I had to cut it off. The keyway was also not moving so easily lol.
WOW my apology..... In one of your other vids - I recommended you try the flywheel puller. These usually slide off pretty easy. Do you think it was corrosion or a twisted key than caused this? Another quick question, I would love to get my 1979 FL250 crankshaft rebuilt. I have called all the machine shops in my area and although their happy to bore my cylinder no luck with crank rebuild:(. Mine's not terrible. No up/down movement but being over 40 years old definitely has some side to side movement. Any suggestions on who to contact for getting these rebuilt? Thanks, Marty.
Yeah I bought a flywheel puller from eBay, I'm not sure why it wouldn't come off, everything was really clean. I pulled one from another engine and it came off really easy. Craziest thing I've ever seen. As for you crankshaft, I believe I seen something in this FB group about a guy that does this. facebook.com/groups/225047002210170/?ref=share
I know I'm late to this video but it's a huge help! I hope you still read these comments.. I'm currently rebuilding mine. My question is do I need to take the clutch side off and the fly wheel off? Or can I just do one side or the other? I have the bolts all the way unscrewed on the clutch side I just can't pull them out because the clutch is in the way. It seems like I have the option for either side? Also do you have a link to buy the puller bolts? I have no idea what to search? Sizes? Thanks

I got a complete camet drive system on ebay for $400 dollar and it is a awesome drive system thanks for the very awesome video.
Thanks!
Funny thing is, I just bought a comet 780 for my current project 😁
I rebuilt a 1983 fl250 engine in 2015 and I would have loved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to have a detailed engine rebuild video like this...... WELL DONE(:-)
Thanks! It could have been better, I should have done a top view.
Thanks! just grenaded my FL 250 I’ll be doing this to mine. I think I broke the crank in half!
Goodness!
Definitely check out oddatv.com for parts.
Its not a flywheel its a magneto btw
You would think, but Honda's part list calls it a flywheel or rotor. Part number 31110-950-023
@@RkunsawGarage ohh then it should be a rotor

Thanks, I found that out the hard way. Lol
Did you put the key way in behind the mag

My honda someone welded the fuckin mag on the crank because he couldn't find the old nut
What a nightmare!
