For anyone who's camera wont play, record, or rewind tapes etc. this is the video for you. Or if you just want the ease of using SD cards with analog cameras this is a great way to do so. I recommend buying an S video cable. Those cheap cables don't last. I spent around $20 on the s video cable and it has made a night and day difference, totally worth it to get high quality cables if you are doing anything analog.

Simply great. Got this as a gift and wanted to transfer by dvd's to thumb drives. Easy as pie and recordings are quite good. I recommend this highly for anyone wanting to preserve their dvd's.

You should look into vintage or new old stock DTE units. Some of them are hard disk drive but if you're lucky, you can find one that takes CF cards. You get DV-out quality instead of just recording off RCA which degrades the audio and video. I know from experience using ClearClick 2.0 with a vintage Sony VX-1000.

Would be keen to know more about the files it creates. What codec, resolution, bitrate. Does it keep the interlacing?

Great video Brandon. I have a Canon XL1 that still works and its good to know I can do this. I have used it tapeless to try vlogging with it when connected to a mac. My question is can you do the same thing with a full size Super VHS camcorder ie run it without a tape and record to SD card.I have one that works except it has a broken ruibber belt drive.thanks Geoff from Australia.

  • @eduugr

Awesome! What bitrates con you obtain from captured videos? (to understand how much can I play later on with color and lights) thanks!!

Thinking about getting one of these for my Canon XH A1, I'm always out filming skateboarding but it takes so long getting hours and hours of footy off through firewire and premiere pro. ( at least 4 hours for an hour or two of tape ). This should work with my camera through fire wire!

I think they should put a DV port. So you can do digital... Instead of analog. It would appeal to both analog and Digital transfers, as well as tapeless on both.

  • @damianmartintvvideo

Does this record both fields of analog video and if yes then does it interlace them

  • @PBDAVID

Don't you get feedback for how close the clearclick is to the mic? I have a similar setup with an irecord converter and I get a high pitched noise whenever it's close to the microphone.

hey I have the same setup as in the video (I have a GL2) and when I record with the clearclick and listen to the video I hear a big buzzing sound that stops as soon as I remove the red wire from the clearclick I bought another wire and I have the same problem, the clearclick sound is also off, what could it be?
