    Should be mentioned that the Clearclick 2.0 ONLY records in 60fps - not native 30fps

    • @retropug
      @retropug Před rokem +2

      So the diamond unit would only record in 30 frames per second where the clear click would do 60 frames per second? Was that corrected through firmware updates or not necessarily corrected but enhanced are the same firmware updates compatible on both the diamond or the clear click I wonder if diamond has an update that allows it to do the same? And do you know if I use a straight S video to s-video cable and then the red and white audio cable RCAs is that how you do video with us video and still maintain audio? I see some people adapting an RCA cable from S video not sure if there's a benefit to doing it one way or the other.

    • @brandoncameracollection
      @brandoncameracollection  Před rokem +2

      Yeah I think the clearclick just comes recording at 60fps because I haven’t done an update on mine. And yes you will use s-video and the audio cables from you av cables. A videos doesn’t have audio so you have to run it like that. There is a cable out there you could try it’s a s-video to av cable. So one side is s-video and the other side is av. So sure how the footage would look or if you would actually get audio from it but I’ve thought about trying it bust see if it would make it more simple to use.

    Thanks for your detailed review. I have a few questions: 1/how close is the picture quality in terms of brightness; 2/ can I trim the end and, or beginning; 3/ have you compared the ClearClick product to the Elgato Video capture device?

    • @brandoncameracollection
      @brandoncameracollection  Před 2 lety +1

      So the picture quality is actually really good on the screen and the brightness is decent even in the sun it works good. And no you can’t do any video trimming it just saves the video straight to the sd card or usb drive so any editing has to be in an editor. And no I haven’t checked out the elgato video capture yet I’ll have to try it out in the future

    I have this but unsure if the 720 is the best option. Mine only shows auto-detection or 640x480. I’m assuming the auto is doing 720 but it does seem to stretch the image making people look chubby. This is the ideal resolution regardless?

  • @auditocanarsie7355
    @auditocanarsie7355 Před rokem +1

    Thanks for posting this. At 8:47 you mentioned that you can choose 640x480 or 720x480. Given that a normal VHS tape has a horizontal resolution of 240 lines and an SVHS tape has a horizontal resolution of 400 lines would you notice any difference if you chose 640x480? I can see it making a difference on a gaming system.
    🎥Isn't this more about the 3:2 (720x480) or 4:3 (640x480) aspect ratio?
    📼Natively, the format for VHS is 4:3, I think so selecting 4:3 (640x480) would be most appropriate if your source is VHS or SVHS.

      Try formatting the usb drive first. If that doesn’t work try a different formatted usb drive. And if that doesn’t work try an SD card. I would send it back if you can’t get the usb to work because that’s a bit of a weird issue. You can also email clearclick and they can help you with your issue as well.

    • @brandoncameracollection

      Yeah so you can record as long as you want as long as your storage device can handle a big file. I recently recorded footage for I believe about an hour and 45 minutes. And yes you can record multiple times and it will create different files for each recording. You can also playback the footage on the device as well after you have recorded it.

      Yes so the clearclick video 2digital 2.0 records your footage in real time. So however much footage you have let’s say 30 minutes it will take 30 minutes to record/ digitize the footage. You can either save the footage to an sd card or usb drive. And you are able to watch back the footage on the clearclick before putting the files onto your computer. it definitely works but it is very fragile, make sure you're not putting too much weight on any of the ports... p.s. if you accidentally bump it it'll probably break.

      So you use s-video and if you see the yellow port on the camera that looks like a headphone. That is the yellow, white, and red plug in. You just use a 3-1 cable instead. But if you’re gonna use s-video you’ll need to use the red and white cable from the 3-1 cable for audio since s-video doesn’t have audio. I hope all of that makes sense 😅

    Hi, happy holidays, question: So this unit is on Amazon for I think $99.00 and the ClearClick one looks to be identical for at a minimum of $159.99. I bought the clear click unit because they could ship it and I could receive it litterally the same day and I needed it fast. I like the product but I think it is the exact same thing you are showing here but under the Diamond Brand. The branding is different but the Clear Click unit says version 2.3 on the back. So do you think there is any difference? I just was using to send video from a VHSc camcorder and it seems to work on the Clear Click even though it records "jittery" when I watch it on the camcorder it is not "jittery" but I think that is a combination for the output from once particular camcorder compared to another one I have. So may not be the fault of the unit so much. I need to find an SVIDEO cable and see if that changes the "jerky" recording and playback. So bottom line I am thinking I should return the ClearClick unit and save myself $60.00. Do you see any reason to keep the original one I bought? Thanks in advance.

      So me just taking a quick look at the diamond one it looks to be slightly different. To me it looks a little cheaper made than the clearclick. But that doesn’t mean it’s bad it could work great or better I’m not sure. If you want to save some money definitely return the clearclick and try it out. As for the glitchy footage you might need to formate your storage device. That seems to help a lot of the time with things. Or it could be your camera ore cables. If you have another camera to test try that. Then you’ll know if the problem is the camera or not.

      @@brandoncameracollection thank you for the super quick response! I might just buy the diamond one and do outside by side comparison and if I see there's no difference return the clear click but it seems like there are firmware updates for the clear click and maybe they fix audio synchronization issues or choppiness though I think the fix for that might be an S video cable though I see mentions of an RCA video out to s-video adapter so not sure if I should just do red and white audio RCA and then an S video cable for the video to see if that improves upon the choppiness.

      Yeah I need to see what updates there are too but I’m also using the 3.0 now and I like it a lot more

    Don't need background music during a spoken video. This is distracting.
