I dont know why this is my most viewed video. This is the one im the least proud of. Algorithm go crazy
Imagine if you will, you’re going into tournament , you have trained for weeks for it. You enter the arena, body shivering from excitement, your hands longing to hold your blade. You get into a match and then get chokeslammed by a sword so hard you break your arm and can never fight again.
Nah, fractured bones are, in most cases, not so painful, incapacitating nor hard to heal. Torn tendons are. And they can be damaged with certain strikes
@@herrdrizzt9547 Pretty cool facts. But you're supposed to imagine that you get choke slammed by a sword so hard you break your arm, not that you get choke slammed by a sword so hard you fracture your arm.

@@herrdrizzt9547 fractures are a clean Crack putting the bone in two pieces. A break often shatters the bone into fragments tearing through tendon and muscle around it

Not actually uncommon for the medieval times. They mixed water with alcohol to kill the bacteria. So yeah almost everyone was atleast slightly drunk all the time.
@@BlackWolf9988 Back then alcohol was probably a way to stay alive and keep from liver infection from poorly cooked and spoiling meat.
Surprised Exanima doesn't get more positive recognition, very unique game.

It controls like dream you trying to punch, so that's probably why.
It is a neat project, but the player character controls are incredibly bad. It literally ruins the game for me, not sure I would give it any positive recognition, but maybe points for trying.
@@olegdemianenko3054 I can understand if you dont like it or find it frustrating/annoying; but I would argue its a main feature, arguably a vital mechanic to the game.Clearly, from this video you can see that it is possible to become proficient if you spend some time practicing. Its not "Bad" it just has a steep learning curve. The game is entirely physics based, that includes player movement and control, Its part of the gimmick, the niche, and is part of what makes the game unique and challenging. Without the physics based movement.. it would be a rather dull action rpg or something. Again; I understand if you find it frustrating or annoying, but its not BAD its just not your thing or cup of tea

Came back to it, man Exanima's gameplay and vibe overall PERFECTLY fits classical music. Good combo of classy + violence. Also 5:03 is heaven
0:34 is such a sweet little move, love the precise lunge into the exposed throat.
I love this because it looks like everyone only kind of knows what they're doing and can only kind of lift and swing their weapons properly
the rework of how weapon damage is calculated has made the weapons feel much better imo. for example how axes now do better at getting through armor and how swords can have glancing hits
there's an art of beating people over the head with an oversized weapon that I enjoy. most of my arena playthrough was done with a lead pipe- mostly because I'm broke as always and just testing things all the time but that lead pipe won me many battles

It would help me tremendously if I could see onscreen your mouse and keyboard inputs as they happen. My skill has plateaued somewhere between "shit" and "mediocre", and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Seeing every detail of how a master like you does what you do would be more valuable than a thousand tutorials.

since 2015 but it has only been good for like a couple years
All of the fights are historically accurate too. I have never seen such grace with a blade in this game.
Exanima is one of the best game I’ve ever played, as someone who love history and arms and armor. It truly an art watching someone who is good at the combat, how they can just take an opponent to the ground and finish them flawlessly and fluidly is really entertaining and amazing!

Fantastic video! I love Exanima as a video game, have probably been playing it for a good 5 years now. With every update it gets better, and I cannot wait for Sui Generis.

The speed at which he whips his claymore around is scary.
I LOVE the detail of the halfsword stab with the longsword and greatsword.
Unfortunately, that's the only stab or thrust you can perform currently with two-handed weapons. You can kinda make a normal thrust with longswords by starting a swing out of reach then move into your opponent when the tip is about to get on line...
However, they did add alternative grips for two-headed weapons, so we can hope for alt-grips for longswords and greatswords down the line!

I'm a Halberd guy, and I appreciate your technique, I never managed to master the Great Sword... But i got unstoppable with the Halberd
It is totally against bare mettles realism vibe, but darksoul tier great sword would be so fun to mess around with in arena. Oversized weapons in general that normal people have no way of wielding would be so freaking fun to swing in this game.

i never heard about this game before i looked it up it came out in 2015 early access and in 2022
it's still early access... i don't know what to say about that.
They are exploring new ground with this kind of game. It does put out updates pretty slowly but they are building an engine from scratch here so I give them a pass as they have no reference to go off of. After all the AI has to be able to handle these tools as well which is a pretty steep order.

I'm still on the fence about getting this game. I absolutely adore the niche combat idea and find the execution pretty solid, but there just doesn't seem to be much meat on it's bones in terms of content
Update: I found out about Sui Generis. I bought Exanima.

imagine you're some well-off mercenary living in some fiefdom, your lord pays you well, he's a little weird with how he likes to have virgin women carted off to his castle every now and then but food and housing is never an issue for you. one day you're enjoying your stale bread and beer at the local tavern and then some freakishly huge man with a weird tattoo on his neck and a METAL ARM walks into the bar and asks about your boss. Being the good employee that you are you stand up to defend him (maybe he'll give you a pay raise for how courageous you were) and then this massive dude takes a sword out of his back with a blade that is easily the size of an entire horse and just cleaves your ass in half with it, creating a shockwave with the sheer weight of it.

Yo i just want to share the most satifying kill that I have ever gotten in this game (happend yesterday).
I managed to thrust the longsword just perfectly to their head. the oppoment fell while the sword was still in them and tried to stand up only to push their head more inside the sword and died.
IT WAS THE MOST SATIFYING EXECUTION I HAVE PULLED OFF IN THAT GAME xD
