I predict that thing laying on its side. Lol
Lmao it's definitely a possibility!
A new classic! Love these things what a look.
"excuse me, I'm working here" best part of the whole video
Great job , nice van, I have a suggestion for you if you get the shocks with the springs around them installed, the van would have less bounce !
The rims you have in front are rallye wheels and they were on Blazers, pick ups, plus it was an option on 4×4s.
what site did u get the springs and shocks? do I need to get longer shocks if I do a 4 inch lift all around? or say 3 inch all around?I got 31's and the look badass
I really like what you did to the van but I know off road, it would have a lot less bounce if you install the shocks with the springs around them on.it,
nice, even salvaged one in aus are expensive, saw one on ebay p.o.a. an running ones from the yard is nearly $40,000 bit of a bugga, they're my favorite van!
Damn, that's crazy expensive
@@SlightlyMangled your not wrong, but thats aus for ya!
@@SlightlyMangled yeh m8, its called import
Love the van.
I have a 92 g30 i want to convert to 4x4.
That would be a project but we might try it out one day as well
For reference, I ordered the exact springs he said to order and they will end up the EXACT same size as your old g20 springs, however they will be a stiffer rare marginally lifting your van, so beware! Whatever springs he listed below will not be the same as he shows in the video, secondly if you order the blocks he linked they will work but you will have to drill out the center pin hole on your spring perch and get different ubolts!
I just bought a 95 G10 for this years TN Gambler
Nice!
@@SlightlyMangled Yeah! Since I bought it so close to the date I probably won't get around to doing much to it but I'm bringing it anyway!
It'll still send! #abg!
The 2 wheels with the bigger slots are the right wheels..
I have a 1978 Chevy g20 van i really want to mod like your van.. :)
I got a 95 8 weeks ago and making it into a fuck wagon
@@danielmckenzie6858 I got a 1995 g 20 a few weeks ago too lol
What degrees was it outside. Couldnt see undervan but good video
I think it was mid 70's outside when we filmed this
How have the lift blocks and ubolts held up, any shifting? I noticed you flipped the plate orientation around, just wondering if its stayed put?
Yea, everything has stayed in place so far and it's taken some really hard hits. What did we flip tho? I don't remember lol
Just looked back at it, the new u bolts on the kit r square so they go in from top down (nuts on the bottom) and the factory were bottom up (nuts on the top) so nothing was really changed. The plate is just on the bottom now cause that's how it goes
Did you have any steering issues? I have a stock g20 looking of possibly doing the same.
Full lock the tire hits the steering box a lil bit but he has been daily driving it without any major issue. Just gotta be kinda careful when turning sharp at low speeds, like into a parking spot
Slightly Mangled seems with a smaller tire things should be fine. Thanks for the insight.
How did it ride on the g30 coils? What was the part number? Looking to level mine out a little bit and get some 31s!
It rides pretty much like normal. Idk a part # tho. And 31's will be real nice
@@SlightlyMangled cool man! Well thanks for the reply. Do you know what engine they were rated for?
Whatever the biggest was, there the heaviest duty factory springs available
@@VanabondI sourced the highest load capacity on the g30 super duty 7.4 model coil springs on rock auto. I'm pretty sure they were on clearance at the time
Soon as you hit a bump when you're turning but what do I know
Can you tell me where I can order those g30 front two springs. I can’t find the lift kind ones
There the heavy duty g30 springs off rockauto
Having some more light under there would help to see.
Whats a light? Aint we just supposed to fumble around and guess what's happening? Lol. But for real, I do need way better lighting
that was so cool I just got a G20 van and would love bigger tires, 235 75 15 is too small and drive like shit
It'll probably fit 31's stock but 235/75/15 m/t's is what I got on my lifted civic lol so I'm sure they look tiny on your van
Now need to find a Dana front axle and throw in it some side pipes that would be bitching
We do want to go solid axle in the front. Hopefully we'll get around to it one day soon
Can you add a link to which springs, shocks and blocks you used?
The springs and shocks was just the heavy duty g30 stuff off rock auto and the blocks were just generic 3 inch blocks off Amazon or eBay I think
Link for the spacers?
whats the tire and wheel size?
The u bolts upside-down
I’m really confused, leafs I measured are 2 1/4 on my g20 and the block kit you linked comes with bolts for a 2 1/2, did you just get frustrated with everyone asking for links and link the first random kit? I want to like and subscribe here, can you PLEASE link the actual rear blocks you used OR tell me that unbolt width and pin size were irrelevant and the kit you linked works fine.
I have no idea. My friend Justin owns the van and thats the link he sent me. He showed up with the van and a box of parts, I just helped him install and made a video lol
G20 tie rods and balls joints and that 10 bolt rear won't last long. But cool job.
This video is almost a year old and none of those parts have failed. The van has been to 3 gamblers, daily driven, many trips to local off road spots and been on multiple multi day road trips. 1 tie rod does currently need replacing but considering the abuse, I'd say they lasted plenty long. We also welded the rear and put 35's on and ain't had no issues
@@SlightlyMangled That's AWESOME. My G20 has over 274k on it, this past March, replaced all the balljoints and tie rods for the first time, but I have it LOADED with tools. I want to order the blocks and heavy springs for my G20, where did you guys get yours?
The blocks were off Amazon and hd springs were off of rockauto.com
@@SlightlyMangled anyway I could get those links for the parts? I'm ready to do mine...
www.amazon.com/dp/B01GBUV7BI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_W69A64RW3HDFVDRWRYVA
The springs r from rockauto, just search for g30 heavy duty springs. There's no way to share a rockauto link, unfortunately it'll just take you to the home page lol
i wouldnt trust those spacers with those big ass tires on them, daymm
What size are the rear tires thks
35's in the rear
@@SlightlyMangled 15 .16 full tire size ! Just bought a 89 g20 $ 500.00
35x12.5-15
@@SlightlyMangled thks
Tier size 33? 32?
I'm pretty sure it was 33's at this point. We went to 35's later on
Will it be 35 with the back plate spring block and the yap side inch up spring alone? I'm going to try it, too
@@hellos5401 it is currently on 35's with no adjustments to the lift. We did this video years ago and this van has been beat to death and currently sitting in my friends (the owners) side yard, waiting to get resurrected lol. We just went full send with the saw-z-all, angle grinder, and bfh and made the tires fit
Wow!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥👍
No don’t cut the body !!!
Lol your about 3 years too late on that one!
Whyd they drills holes for?
We drill alot of holes lol, which ones are you referring to?
Think he means the tires
