Just because you get a mean comment and can't sleep doesn't mean your depressed, just sensetive. I barely sleep well like 6h a day and i get picked on a lot but i ain't depressed neither does that affect me.

I started my diary at 12 in 1987 and documented everything I went through until I was around 22. I never wanted to forget what it was like to be a young person. I've only shared bits and pieces with my 17 and 19 year old daughter's so far. I was something else! Not sure what to do with it yet but names must be changed to protect the innocent😁.
This reminds me of a diary her doctor told her to keep to track her health and sleep patterns.

The doctor would tell her to make a log in a diary, and to feel free writing about her day along with it. When my mom was in a car accident and had to take the insurance company to court she was advised to keep a diary of her pain and how it effected her everyday life.

I think it would make a really good movie. and at the end it's like you learned A Life Lesson and it helps you with the hard times in your life by reading about others throughout the years.

You should really read A Tale for the Time Being. It's one of my favourite books and it's pretty much how you described the movie. "It's a novel by Ruth Ozeki narrated by two characters, a sixteen-year-old Japanese American girl in Tokyo who keeps a diary, and a Japanese American writer living on an island off British Columbia who finds the diary washed up on shore some time after the 2011 tsunami that devastated Japan." You basically get to read the girl's diary together with the writer as she's trying to figure out who that girl was and if she's okay and alive. It gets pretty deep and sad at some point but also has some heartwarming moments.
I've been writing in a journal EVERY. SINGLE. DAY for about 3 years now and I am so glad that I'm not the only one that writes about the most boring things lol. My journal is pretty much the same on most days. Every now and then something juicy will happen, but anyone who reads my journal would have to dig in to find that stuff.

Eh, I think it was the way she read it. Believe me, I'd know if she had depression 😉 but i think her anxiety plays such a role that in the way she acts in a average life, she's only analyzing everything to an extent, keeping her awake at night which makes her constantly tired, showing little but some symptoms of depression but mostly in need of bed rest and a companion 🙃
Everybody's depression is different. Saying "I'd know if she had depression" is a little far-fetched, especially considering the limited amount of information about the person we were given. Though, with the information we were given, it isn't wrong to be inclined to say she DID have depression. The (what seems to be) insomnia, how we really only hear about her eating (drinking) Slimfast, and her reliance on her companion (in this case a dog) especially if she was having to take care of an elderly, or possibly sickly father. All signs would point to having depression (though, again, we can't be sure because of how little info we have). I also don't see many signs of anxiety considering how often she went out. I suppose it is up for interpretation, though.
My diary is like an emotional wreck.... she would be in a puddle of tears... 💀 if she shed a few tears just because the woman slept well.

Actually, it sure can. There are studies that have been done to prove this. Handwriting can tell a lot about a person, it's actually really neat. Maybe look up the studies sometime! :)

I made a diary 3yrs ago when I got my first job. I only write when I can't sleep lmao I would only rant about my job and relatives, and start talking about my dreams in life. I lived at my aunt's and older cousins so I had no one to talk with.
