Tried the weighted lunges and definitely felt I had a little extra explosiveness in my kicks the next day. Will definitely be adding that to my regular routine! Thanks bro!
@@MMAShredded I have to admire the dedication. A lot on your plate putting out videos as much as you do while perusing your pro career. Champ mentality dude.
I can't out my finger on WHAT you are doing Jeff, but you keep being my biggest inspiration. Learning from you has been - by far - been the easiest (and lost fun to apply).
Ive got a drill for you that may help: 2kicks ,Kick (all on the same leg) 3 bunny hops or squat jumps Repeat on alternate leg And 1 more: Squat down(in guard) about maximum kick distance from bag Then spring forward leaning and twisting into a lead hook(body or head) or into a straight Ps very tiring so use in moderation!
@@MMAShredded hey, I've been doing this workout twice a week now and I'd like to increase intensity. Do I increase the weight or do I just go for faster repetitions? I'm afraid of becoming strong but slow, because speed is my current no. 1 issue.
Damn your explosive power is so strong its moving the bag by itself at 1:30😂 All jokes aside, thank you very much for this video! Appreciate the effort and great content 👊
Great video ! I would definitely try some of those ! (P.S. For the Kettlebell it is good to put a bottle of water between the feet, to not swing too close to the ground - it instantly make the swing more proper)
Great workout and video, But I think the second style of battle rope and shadowboxing with weights has not much business in developing explosiveness, seens a lot more endurance based. I am a fan from Brazil, your work is amazing.
Hi Jeff, I'm thinking of adopting the training methods in your Anerobic, Alactic and Aerobic video. Is there anything you would add or change to those workouts?
hey bro, I pretty much follow those guidelines, just like this video is based off those guidelines! But I will change up the exercises depending on what I have access to
Hey man, it's such a pleasure seeing your videos. I have a question: I'm thinking about having my first fight. I believe I am around your height (5 foot 8) and I weight around 160 lbs. I will most likely fight a taller fighter, maybe even way taller then me. I don't think that I can cut a huge amount of weight though. Anyway, my problem is, that I am short legged with long arms. What is the proper strategy for a fighter like this in a k1 or muay thai fight? I sometimes have the feeling that my round kicks have no higher range then my strikes. The 2. Question is: how do I cope with the anxiety of really getting beaten up. I heared that even hard sparring isn't really preparing you for your first fight, because the intensity is different. I hope you can help. Thanks a lot mate!
you want to pressure forward aggressively and get in your opponents pocket if you are the shorter fighter! at least its the more common strategy. For your second question, it just comes with time and experience in the sport. We all get nervous and stressed before a fight! But yes hard sparring is different than an actual fight but the closest you can get so I would recommend some hard sparring sessions in!
Bro I aint no pro fighter or anywhere near your level to give you advices but give a notice to the habit of closing your eyes when kicking. Even during explosive all-in kicks I think you should keep them on your opponent. Details matters, great video thanks... cheers
Hi, I have a boy who is very passionate about contact sports (wrestling, muay thai, boxing, MMA) He is 7 years old. I wanted to ask you to tell me what would be the best way to develop his motor skills and to become a complete fighter (if he likes it and further) what would be the order of sports he should follow to develop completely. What should we fill the window of opportunity with between 7 and 10 years old? What motor skills or other things could they better develop now, between 7 and 10 years old, to become a good fighter (which would be harder to develop after that age)? What exactly should we focus on to get the best out of those 3-4 years? Specifically what should and shouldn't we do? Thank you!
I would just recommend putting him in Muay Thai, BJJ and wrestling! The training he will do in those disciplines itself will give him all the skills he needs. Also focus on flexibility/stretching while he is young as it is much easier to become flexible when you are young. Watch a lot of fights/CZcams to be exposed more and more to the high level fighting will help with fight IQ
Learning a lot from you, great stuff! I'm getting into MMA from August/September I was wondering how many times a week do You do this kind of workouts?
@@MMAShredded Cool, I started with weights, never did them in my life before so I was thinking maybe go around a month with the weights (mostly focused on my lower body, trying to build a strong foundation) and then after a month focus on balance/mobility + explosive power for a month or two.
