I watched your video on removing the oil pan and how much of a chore it was (because after working on my 1990 S10 pickup w/ same config, there was an inconsistent but loud metal tinking noise coming from around the pan area) and now this one, also noticing the o.g. pump is leaking a bit onto the frame. It sucks how crap aftermarket parts are these days. I heard great things about Redhead gearboxes compared to "rebuilt" ones like Cardone that tend to be bad overall. I adjusted the pre-load screw on my old gearbox and started having issues, so I just got a good used one from a junkyard S10. The ZQ8 boxes from the later models are quick-steer ones and will fit just fine in our square-bodys which is nice. Good vidya!

I need to try adjusting the box on mine at some point, I believe there is a large nut on the front of the box in addition to the one on top of the box. For the 68 gmc, I pulled a junkyard box and it has been fantastic and a great investment of $50 lol. Thanks for the info!
