2:27 Hyena, not Serpent. The Fencer is fun, but in the really tough fights Vs big Chosen, Orc or Ancient Honor Guard camps he falls short. He basically makes easy fights easier (Goblins, Raiders)
I wonder whether underdog instead of overwhelm and QH instead of gifted would not be better. QH and underdog for survivability (shield in the bag) in case fencer was trapped. You said "try to one-shot opponents" and than about being surrounded which triggered my thinking.
What would be a better build for that oathtaker you got there? I recently started an oathtaker run and the young bro got for me iron lungs and somebody told me about fencer so im trying it out BUT this is my first veteran run and I want to hit all 4 crisis's in the same run b4 expert.

I don't like "free-hand" builds in this game. Yes, you can use the left hand for consumables, and once used you get a small bonus to damage... But the sheer utility shields provide is too good to pass up. But in a game where everything relies on sheer luck to work, I guess it's still a strategy worth using >
THe difference Between having a shield or not is insane, its basicly double the Damage with Duellist so if you go for a Damage Build you want no shields they are better for tanks. You can make a nible Tank if you want a shield but haveing a shield on a Fencer is antisynergetic.
There is too little room for pathfinder here. I love pathfinder, but the fencer class demands a lot from bro's perks and stats, and lunge comes with free movement (no ap/no stam 1 tile), so its a necessity to save a perk point on pathfinder. Overwhelm absolutely isnt necessary and will have very little impact on average. That makes it a third flawed build from you. You give bad advice.
Well you can Flex some Perks around in every Build to sligtly change it, these Builds are not made in stone just an example of one fencer that i Build. I dont think its a flawed Build nor do i think its a bad advice.

sounds like a solution generally you have too use your fencer carefully cause he dies quick

you can go Bf Neutral with a big axe a nibmle duellsit is probably possible as well

that works as well but not much with Bf Neutral cause the Aoe needs a lot of Stamina but you can try
