Really good conversation, Cip you are probably the first person to ask her such questions that hopefully will make her think about her food choices.
Even though she was not talking in her first language she was very clear about eating animals.
I hope she listens to Gary Yourofsky and possibly she will begin to at the very least start to question her ethics.
I wish I had participated in such a conversation when I was twelve, it would have been life changing.

Young people are the future of mankind and need to be shown what horrendous things animals go through , and to be shown who it is they're eating
Thanks, Martin! I hope she watches Gary’s speech and gets informed. Even if she feels some form of peer pressure to eat animals, she might be challenged to see them differently (given the comparison with her pets)

She likes hamburgers and that is one of the easiest products to veganize.She probably has parents who have no idea and she never even had a vegan burger.
Great point, Marian! There’s people who wouldn’t even know that some of the burgers are plant based.
She's very young, and cultural expectations are very powerful. Hopefully, she will overcome those societal pressures and make the compassionate choice for the animals. Nice work (again) Cip! 👍🌱💯💚

@@veganpowerlab Allot of people are this way, we assigned importance threw our bonds with people or animals. Though this can be seen in livestock too, people are less likely to slaughter a cow they have a connection with. Though companion animals will always get an exemption from most people.

I find a lot of people who comment anti-vegan stuff, tend to be kids. I hope that when she gets older she realises. I thought the same way not too long ago. I have faith. It sometimes takes actually seeing the cruelty via a video. That is what made it all click for me.
I'm an anti-vegan 'kid' & a Christian since 1981. The numbers make no sense but neither does the V nonsense. God's okay with my WF omni. diet.

Yeh, I'm up against this in Taiwan. In alot of parts of Europe & UK the dead animals are neatly covered in sellophane etc.
In Taiwanese Supermarkets it is the same. That said, there are various disgusting practices such as strip dancers dancing to a bunch of dead pigs piled on top of each other. The idea being behind this practice is that the dead is being given a strip dance & a meal. This is part of the practice of Dao Jiaoism. However, it's complicated because if you're a Daoist you shouldn't harm anyone including animals & sea creatures. So, in a similar way to how other religions have contradictory or confusing practices so too does Dao Jiaoism.
But, here's the relevance of my report: From early childhood, Taiwanese people have witnessed dead animals either in religious events or more often in night markets. Here they will see the eyes of the animals, the head and body parts which one would normally look at when thinking about communication & empathy with the animals in question. However, for the Taiwanese the sight of these dead animals has been normalised to the point where it is more difficult to shock them with slaughter house footage than it would be to a European child whom has just found out that Sausages come from a murdered pig.
The practices here in farms are certainly no more cruel than anywhere else and unlike PRC China they do have some basic welfare laws for animals like dogs & Cats.
So, the problem is really for a guy like me doing outreach. We have to try to tap into the Taiwanese person's individual morality, sense of injustice and so on rather than simply showing some nasty Slaughterhouse footage. Btw, slaughterhouse footage will shock most Taiwanese people but it won't take them long (in my limited experience) to disconnect from what they have seen.
I've sorted have forgotten why I started making this comparison but anyway let me know if you have any thoughts..

You do great work, new subscriber here - I love how you focus on animals & ethics. But you could also add in how unnatural it is for humans to eat animals -- because we could never kill & eat an animal while still alive & struggling, like true omnivores & carnivores. We would find it repulsive & disturbing and our flat teeth & clawless nails would be useless -- physically and mentally not equipped for it!

I went vegan for a bit, literally loss all my muscle mass, never again. WE NEED ANIMAL PROTEIN TO SURVIVE. Period. It sucks that animals have to die for us to get nourishment but they also kill each other for the same purpose, circle of life. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
We don’t. Sounds like you went plant based and didn’t have enough calories and/or protein. You can obviously build muscle on a plant based diet. But, you were never vegan
