Honestly though, Greg's Teacher Mode is pretty intimidating, if I were Acaster, I'd have been wetting myself. 😂
As a teacher, every single instant of the Box Incident looks like me pretty much every day. The taking him "into the hallway", the quiet voice...everything is just Greg reverting to his old job
@@randomactpg57 tell that to the Mandarin class at my school. They witnessed their teacher just lose it and throw stuff about. We were next door and it was both hilarious and terrifying.
Greg forcing Josh Widdicombe to count how many baked beans are in a can. How many spaghetti hoops are in a can. And how many corns of rice are in a bag.
0:15 When Greg takes off his glasses and goes to stand up, that was perhaps the most exciting moment in Taskmaster so far. There's a second or two there where you're wondering if he's just going to pick James up and throw him across the room like a professional wrestler.
@@tigros40208 Seeing the difference in height when he stands next to others, with maybe the exception of Richard Osman, I believe it. Either he really is 6’8”, or they’re all incredibly tiny.
Greg pulling James to the side as if he was one of his students and making him apologize for what he said is one of the great moments of television history.
The moment James Acaster called Greg Davis a pussie genuinely looked like the teacher asking to talk to him at the side (in the class) for a wee word while all the other class mates just oogle him with the look that says (you fucked up big time)
💯 That's why a US version couldn't possibly work. It isn't just the format - the magic is Greg, really, his perfect blend of intimidation and charm, and the delightful way he and Alex play off each other. Other people may be funny, but they don't have that alchemy.
lol I love how quickly James Acaster apologized after letting his mouth speak quicker than his brain could processes that what he said to Greg wasn’t a good idea.
My favourite Greg moment is the intro of S9E9. "Sitting to my right are a team of battle-scarred competitors, who been slogging through task after task. They've had their ups and their downs, and they've discovered that, for every failure, there's a success just around the corner. Also, David Baddiel is here." 😂😂😂
Most of Greg's decisions are spot on. If I was the Taskmaster, I would throw in some random extra points (or penalties) every now and then just to confuse everyone further. Maybe have some unspoken rules that last the whole show & see if the contestants can figure it out (eg: get a bonus point every time they touch a certain item in the house, use a certain unlikely object in a task, say a certain word etc). Don't tell anyone why someone got a bonus point or penalty, just that they did. That alone will drive some of them crazy. I think it is even funnier when his decisions seem arbitrary or unfair. Keep 'em on their toes. Its not about being the best. Its about entertaining the Taskmaster 🤪
Series 7 is my absolute favorite series. I find how chaotic James Acaster is and how clever and weird Rhod is so funny, and I love Jessica and Keri, especially when they do team tasks together. Phil is like the more sane person usually so when he does something crazy it makes it even more funny 🤣🤣 I love them all.
@@jonbar140 That's so sad! I'll need to find the podcast. The thing is - the Taskmaster (as a character) is capricious...sometimes the 'best' or most genuine will be scored worst, kind of for the hell of it. Due to that very real possibility, it's best to leave your heart at home for these things, you know? Whatever you bring, you've got to be prepared to have absolutely shredded, because that's the nature of the show. (And I say that as a sensitive person who would never make it as a comic for that very reason.)
The inner teacher of Greg comes out a lot in this compilation! Moving James aside, him wanting a few moments of silence and standing above all the contestants.
No one on planet earth can host this show better than Greg Davies! If Alex is the heart then Greg is definitely the soul. I can't believe people on the Internet call him a bully. He is just playing the part and Alex is wholeheartedly there for it coz he IS the creator of the show. If he doesn't want us to see it, we won't see it!
I recently watched all of Bob Mortimer’s appearances on WILTY, and all I could think was how awesome and chaotic it would be to have him as a dad. That man is hilarious.
I love Greg (and Alex and the entire show) but, damn, that Hugh Dennis dance judgment just pisses me off. I think that’s his worst/nastiest behaviour (and that’s saying something with Joe Wilkinson’s potato goal in the running). I hate that clip. I feel so bad for Hugh.
Hugh's face in the last clip killd me every time because you can tell he really thought it was good and is genuinely heartbroken when greg says horseshit, i for one thought his dance was the best out of all of them
Most evil moment? There's been a couple where he's been genuinely mean to Alex... I seem to remember he called him "farage" once, prompting Alex to burst out with, "you can't call me that, prick!"
How can Alex keep a straight face? Greg Davies is the man and he's iconic in his own right, but Alex Horne what legendary in his demeanor, his devotion to making himself play second fiddle when the show would not exist without him. He's the real gangster on this show.
There's nothing evil about that James Acaster moment. The taskmaster was most merciful! Poor James' heart probably stopped for a moment though..... 🤣🤣🤣
sorry but the most evil thing greg has ever done was not giving a single point to mark for texting him for 148 days
What about not giving James a point for spending months learning to hula hoop?
@@ashleyl7608 good point but he still got some points for it tho, james got 2 while Phill only got 1. Mark really received nothing for his months of effort, it was pure evil
What about Joe and his Potato throw?
To be fair though. He was meant to do it for 150 days by skipped 2 of them
What about Josh who counted: how many beans in a can, how many spaghetti rings in a can, how much rise in a bag? And not getting any points
You can tell Greg Davis used to be a teacher by the way he disciplines James Acaster

Very questionable
Certainly in my top 5
Agreed, Little Alex Horne is a genius.
Glad I hav CZcams so I can watch it

Do they still make new exposide?
Actually, the most evil in the 'confusing little box' was Alex closing the box just before handing it back to Greg. :)
Putting Mark Watson last for stealing his trousers, another outstanding evil moment.
Greg pulling James to the side as if he was one of his students and making him apologize for what he said is one of the great moments of television history.
I kinda hope that it was scripted because otherwise James Acaster is all bark and no bite

He did the same thing with Nish as well. 🤭
Poor Hugh Dennis deserved better
Definitely in this task (choreograph a dance to a ringtone). What it lacked in technical competency it made up for in authenticity.
@@kisbie Yeah but it would have lost the humourous impact of Greg routinely attacking his efforts
Yes! I generally love it when Greg goes off on someone but he went too far with that one. It wasn’t a great dance, but it was sweet.
He is like a mob boss and it is great

My brain did not work for a second and i thought “mob boss” was a wordplay on bob ross, like he is the opposite of bob ross.

Jess's reaction to Greg chucking the box is just the best.
Seeing Greg suddenly go Teacher God mode on James was both scary and hilarious. Definitely can see Greg has done that before…

11 seasons...6.5 minutes? You've got to be kidding, right?
Sometimes it's hard to be the taskmaster. Sometimes you got to crush dreams.
Could we get a Kerry "Bosh" Godliman montage please and thank you?
Yes please!
I love the way Greg can get away with being brutally honest
I don't think the first one was very evil, I always thought it was like a glimpse of what it was like When he had disorderly student.
Hugh Dennis' painting of the woman in the caravan has got to be the greatest Taskmaster moment in history
The fat bald white man😂
Mark Watson’s surprisingly expensive gate has a special place in my heart.
POTATO HOLE IN ONE
Mel Giedroyc accidentally snorting a blue Smartie was an even better moment in that series for me.
The best part of the moment at 0:59 is that it's just Greg and Alex as two types of contestant.

Every time I watch that first clip with James Acaster I can’t help but think that that’s Greg using his teacher voice with his old students 😂
