    They didn't even get Hugh's best part with the basketball on the treadmill. He ended up unplugging the treadmill and the basketball stayed there for months

    Two more, in the vein of the last task, are when Russell and Alice unplugged the shower in the "keep Alex dry" task and when Liza attached a lizard to a drill to keep it spinning as long as possible. (Both are season 6.)

      @@stanellison2229 yeah, adhd has a lot of downsides but it is related to higher proficiency for lateral thinking, mental flexibility and generally thinking outside the box. Any time I'm given a task aim not thinking "right let's do it", I'm immediately thinking "how can I complete this task without doing anything they wanted"

      Me too! I’m motivated to do something I want to do, not something someone else wants me to do - when I find a workaround or do it differently I’m doing my thing. Also my head is full of thoughts and I jump to seemingly unrelated topics/solutions to problems quickly

The contestants were supposed to get three exercise balls "on top of the mat on that hill." While the other contestants were struggling to both get the balls up the hill and make them stay there, he just grabbed the mat on top of the hill, brought it down, and plopped them on top

    Rhod is hands down my fav contestant on old taskmaster (before Social distancing) his great laughs at Greg, the outbursts he had, but most of all, he was the literal definition of "think outside the box"
    Oh, and his interactions with James Acaster are freaking amazing!

      Everyone always talks about Rhod, but Hugh was really underrated. He was sort of treated like the idiot of his series sometimes, but I thought he was great. I liked seeing how his mind worked.

    I only just noticed that (thanks to the camera lighting) the wobbling shadow of the cow is visible on Mawaan’s jumpsuit at the start of his task, which could have given the whole game away if Greg had seen it!

      It's a legit visual effects technique, used in old movies - and just like with most visual effects (and magic tricks) once you know the trick you notice all the little tells that make it obvious, but if you _don't_ know the trick it's hard to notice the tells because you don't even know what you should be looking for.

    Hughs hopping task is made even better by the fact he was so thoughtful about mot cutting too many strings as he was worried about continuity for the others doing the task

      I don't think that's the case. The contestants do all of their individual tasks in one big session, sometimes months apart (as we've seen some do a task in summer while another does the same task in the winter and also openly stated on the show by the contestants) so the ropes would have been taken down and put back up either way so the yard can be used for other tasks and not get into the shots. Sometimes continuity is totally thrown out the window because certain task setups are unable to be perfectly replicated so they just make it funny. Like when one contestant got chickens instead of dogs like everyone else because the dogs weren't available.
      More likely he just cut the ropes to make one clear path. Cutting the other ropes would be more energy expended movimg around to them and would tire him out quicker. I'm sure his leg was already tired doing what he did.

      @@Wandervenn hugh said it himself on the podcast. also, since you’re very interested in correcting people pedantically, it’s the other way round with the dogs / chickens task. lolly was the only one to do the task with the chickens and the rest did the same task with dogs because a “disease broke out” with the chickens

      That's perspective trickery, not camera. If you were in the same position as the camera, with your vision limited to that of the camera, the trick would still work.

    Got to admit on the first watch, Mawaan's cow disappearance did leave me stunned with no idea how he did that. It wasn't until they revealed how he did it now with every rewatch you can clearly see its a toy cow! A one time wonder.

    As others have said, Rod was there purely to wind Greg up, and it worked well for the most part since they've been friends for a very long time. I would love to be on a show like this since I'm very good at creative thinking and would enjoy trying to work around the rules and get the tasks done.

    Hugh was brilliant on his season of the show but often it seemed that Greg just wouldn't cut him a break. Geniuses are rarely appreciated in their own time.

    With the beach ball task, paul was pointing the hose at the wrong angle. It went backwards because he was pointing the hose at a high angle which pulled the rotation of the ball towards him, if he used a low angle it would have had a pushing effect
