Buzzing about this rumour that I think every Ranger fan wants to come true. Got everything that we want in a CB that we have been screaming for. As for not being an areal threat. I'm wondering should we even by one. We seen so many set pieces wasted cause tav always put is back post and it result to nothing good that rather than buying a areal threat. Hopefully someone in that dressing room finally tell tav to you know...try something different

Him and Sterling at the back would most definitely be a massive improvement.
Hopefully the first member of an all new defensive unit, capable of defending strongly first and foremost and braver on the ball and in the tackle. We needs a backline that doesn't flap when pressed.

I've just watched Clement's press conference he states he doesn't believe he got his starting lineup wrong and he is still backing Lundstrum which is a concern, also said Sterling not available tomorrow what the hell is going on
I fear that he will go the same way as Gio and Beale did, being stubborn picking players that are clearly not playing well and picking favourites.
He would be a bad manager if he said what we really want to hear. Players nowadays just chuck the dummy out the pram.

I am judging him on whether he is mug enough to pick Lundstram ever again. Also what he does and who he gets rid of in the summer. We will be having the same conversations this time next year if Tav, Goldson or Souttar are in that backline.

Sterling actually looks like a really good option at CB. It would allow is to hold a high line and press properly, just like under Gerrard when we were always the hardest working team on the pitch.

It would also be good to get an impression of the B team and Youth team to learn which players may push to get into the First team after pre-season. The Acadamy has to bring 2 or 3 players for the First team every year.

I've seen alot of fans turning on the manager already.That gets right on my nipple ends. Some fans need to get a grip and realise wht he has done with mediocre players. If the club do not get this summer window absolutely spot on then they're throwing another manager under the bus. I like the fact that we are trying to get buisness done as early as possible. The lad does look like a decent player.
Fans turn very quickly, and the only way we get out of this rut is to have consistency and patience. If we keep this trend of sacking managers once a year, sooner or later we will end up like Watford.
I suppose the issue is that the team he inherited was basically done - he came in and got an uplift for a few months but slowly but surely we have resorted to the muck we were producing at the start of the season.
Of course he will be judged on his own players and hopefully he can recycle the current squad to give us some decent money to build a decent team who are up for the battle, but it's basically another rebuild.
@@EssydykThere was never a true rebuild yet. That was PR fluff. The same PR fluff that brought us Silva, to appease the fans looking for a striker in January. It was a pool the wool job. The same old faces that held us back from proper glory the prior season, stepped up and produced the same defensive issues, with the same patterns for losing and folding mentally when the pressure was on to take an advantage in the league over our rivals. Keep them for a further rebuild and expect the same conversation and complaints next season. Now is the time to change, or be stuck like this. New backline and wingers needed and add in Shankland.

Getting defenders that can defend and be physical would be a dream come true
Hopefully anyone we do sign won't be an injury prone nightmare because lets face it that has been a huge problem recently.
Connor Barton should be avoided due to injury history, same with Sima, and any others with long term problems. Cortes doesn't hqve a poor record for injury. He was unlucky, though we ahould do a 6 month loan until January first before signing to be sure as we can be. Ridvan had a poor injury record when we signed him. He hasn't been reliable enough. Many players that have came through since Gerrards time, have been giys with poor injury records. We must learn, delve deep for info and raise the red flag and abandon pursuit of injury plagued types. There are better players for less money if our board are smarter. Maeda cost Celtic, £1.6 million and £16k per week. We have Goldson on £37k per week and Tav at £30k per week. We are a shambles and need to run a tighter and smarter ship.
Gerrard to sign Goldy,and Tav,for saudi.
Barasic,and Lunny off to anywhere.
Ditch the sicknotes.

I really hope Gerrard does us a favour and takes Tav and Goldson. I'd like to know why Tav has gone AWOL when as a Rangers captain he should be up front and centre. Dessers gave a good press interview but it should have been our captain there.

Cantwell has a poor mentality. I would sell this summer. Souttar is not a Rangers class CB, not to mention his injury issues. Yilmaz can't stay available because of injury and had a poor injury record prior to us signing him, only Butland and Sterling would stay for me, with Raskin, Diomande, Mcausland, Dessers, Danilo staying. The rest can go for me.

Hi CJ watched a video of Jose he looked not too bad on the ball hopefully he comes to us.
Our summer business has to be spot on. No more loans that don't benefit us e.g. Silva, etc. Need a slightly younger squad with better sell on value throughout. No more injury prone players. 😂 Hope to see more scottish player's that you mentioned in previous video Cj 🙏
I would argue that the loans are going to be just as important as the signings we make. Look at somebody like Sterling - if we can get 3 players of that quality on loan then we will be laughing.
I’m really looking forward to next season to see what big changes phillipe makes. He’s been stuck with Beales leftovers and a few players who could’ve made a big impact dropped out in the January transfer. I think he’s only gonna keep a handful of current players and thank god
in my opinion he looks like a really good player and has a lot of potential its one of those signings that could earn us a high yield in the future. Honestly, I just want to get this season done with and forget about it hopefully with a cup win at the end but I want to just get into the summer and get the team overhauled.
He looks ideal for what we need and possibly a better version of what Goldson was a few seasons ago.
We need a presence at the back, in the middle of the park and up front. All the players we have right now are too similar so there's not really any Plan B with the personnel we have and sometimes you just need to win the 1 on 1 battles.
I really want a big turn over as I am so tired of seeing these same players . We deserve more and better and I for one am excited about the pre season . If by some miracle we can win this final and take two cups I would settle for that after the tail end of the season we have had . We need a new centre back we need a new full back and a midfield enforcer

He's a unit, him Johnson and jefte for less than 4 million, we'll need 2 more CB if we can offload the rest, but he's a Clement CB ok, iweko has to be promoted as a backup. 2 RB 4/5 CB and 2 LB, good start towards a balanced squad.

CJ. Think at this time, whilst it's nice to speculate on new potential players, we just need to get to the end of what has been a real injury horror show of a Season. Easier to say now, who we should keep for next Season. Here are mine - Butland, Ridvan, Balagun (he has NEVER let us down), Souttar, Raskin (only on the basis we haven't really seen him and what he can do), Sima and am going to say that's it. I like Lawrence but it's not happening for him.
His booking stats are a concern but hes young and maybe still a little naive tactically , thought before force only comes with experience , time will tell 🤞👍

Ridvan class rate hom highly but Jefte should be in best case cash in on Ridvan worst case u got 2 class full backs …
I would sell Ridvan and bring in Jefte and Alex Cochrane for Left back. Cochrane has pace, is tenacious, good with the ball, and has a bit of nastiness in his game in a good way, he can improve under Clement. Both could be worth more if they make their name with us and win things. Souttar could be a good make weight to getting Cochrane.
Dujon and Cardoba CB pairing next year, mark my words!

Tbh I don’t need my CB’s to score, obviously it’s appreciated if they chip in but I like my defenders to do what they’re paid for and actually defend, don’t know much about him but I trust the manger and koppen’s judgement so far, well the 2 they brought in to be part of the squad and hopefully part of the squad going forward anyway

Where did you get your info on him not being good in the air? Contrary to what you've read, he's apparently solid in the air and has a solid jump.
I said he wasn't dominant in the air in terms of an attacking threat from set pieces like alot of people are craving for, he doesn't tick that box as he's never scored a header in 117 games..but ticks being a defender and being physical in the air

Imagine having a whole back line of bullies? And a midfield that can dominate, be physical and play our forwards through. And those forwards can actually put the ball into the net. That is where we have been woeful in recent years. Hope this drummer window can be different.
A guy who can DEFEND, who can bully strikers.... at Rangers? It will never catch on. Seriously, if the lad can defend and bully and throw himself in front of the ball then that's good enough for me. If he has to put the ball in row Z to clear his lines then that's fine with me too.

It would be excellent if we can partner Cordoba at CB with Joel Ordonez from Club Brugge as a new look CB pairing. I would make Butland captain. Get Sterling at RB and sell Ridvan and bring in Jefte or Alex Cochrane for left back. I would add David Watson and lennon miller, into midfield with Raskin and Diomande and Hagi. Kai Forheringham, Cortes on loan until January with a view to buy and Raphael Borges Rodrigues and Shankland and we would be sorted, we would also keep Dessers and Danilo for striker rotation. Along with promoting some youth and boosting our backline cover with a couple of loans or free agents.
Sell on Tav, Goldson, Matondo, Ridvan, Lammers, Lawrence and Cantwell. I like Ridvan, but he can't stay available and be relied on. Let go out of contract guys starting with Lundstram, Borna, Wright, Jack, Mclaughlin and Roofe. Lots of wages would be saved and we would have plenty of talent to sell on and make profit with. All for shrewd prices.

Cordoba is a no brainer as close to finding a Bassey replacement LCB as we could hope to find. Unfortunatetly we had to have 2 seasons of constant shuffling in there because Davies was never that guy.

Think he will be a good signing for yous . He isn’t the worst I’ve seen playing for yours put it that way . But think once he gets his fitness up to par and gets used to the spfl he will be a decent defender for yous
