She accused him of abusing her and a bunch of blatantly untrue accusations that resulted in a tank in his career. And many court hearings. She doesn't even try to be convincing. Her attitude is simply "they won't believe you because you're a man." And sadly, that's proving to be true for all of her supporters. The other half of her supporters either don't know what she's done, or they can't keep their hands off their junk and their eyes off her face. Amber was the true abuser. She claimed to have broken bones and a busted lip, and bruises, which were badly faked with makeup, and the very next day all the marks were gone. Jonny however has hospital visits in his medical record one of them being a visit because she threw a glass vodka bottle at him, and he had to get surgery on his hand, and caught Mersa twice. There's a lot to sift through. But the information on it is mostly available to the public. And of course, people make videos providing the info as well

Really? I thought it was very uneven. Way too much on irrelevant character development and not enough on the actual plot. I think we spent just as much time hearing about Mother Abigail catching chickens to cook dinner for the main characters than we did with the committee making "the stand"

For those who don’t know, this is Stephen King’s masterpiece (with all due respect to It, the Shining, and other greats). Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy. It’s a long read, but certainly worth the payoff.

Hopefully the court case next year will shed a light on the actual truth that happened and not have a biased judge such as judge Nicol as I believe nepotism was involved in the case in London due to the judges son working under the sun newspaper that Depp was suing.

I've read both versions the original and the 10 year anniversary one and in the 10 year anniversary one Stephen King released it with everything that the publisher edited out and I loved it . He is such a visionary writer that you feel like you're there. During the prison part I had to actually put the book down for a few days because it freaked me out big time. So many details were left out of the first version and I am so grateful that he decided to release it in all it's gory and glory. One of my top 3 books that I have ever read.

@@adeleferguson663 I have a diverse catalog that I enjoy really. It all depends on the writing. Stephen King obviously I find to be phenomenal he can take your mind in so many places. His book the dome was great but I also like things from J.K. Rawlings she takes your mind on a journey also. Basically anything that lets me have an escape for even an hour or so and then I stop but 15 minutes later I go back to it then I feel I've found gold. It's been awhile since I've come across that these days. So basically sorry I can't pen down an exact top 3 but the 10th anniversary rerelease of The Stand with I think always be my absolute #1. They left so much out that it's no wonder he wasn't happy with the first version. Hope you enjoy the uncut version yourself.

Looking at the actors chosen on IMDB, ugh.. horrid choices except for Skarsgard, and for him I feel sorry that he must be anywhere near Whoppo, no I didnt misspell it by accident. I really love the book I actually back in the day got the full version where in the first release they cut out a bunch of the book so I was happy to read the extra parts very good. Having said that I'm having a very hard time watching this new adaptation of the stand, I just don't like the non-linear storytelling. I would be extremely excited to see this re-edited and put into a linear line up sometime definitely would love to watch that.

I just posted about the second version. The 10 year anniversary. Definitely a must read for any Stephen King fan unedited and amazing so happy he did that.
I seen the first movie that I think Gary Senise was in. But haven't seen the new one yet and I haven't heard many good reviews on it. But I imagine it's like the Shining movie vs the tv version of course Jack Nicholson was great but to many details were left out but the tv version had them. But no matter the books are always better anyway.

I think this trailer would have sold the series far better if they focused on the apocalyptic elements of the book rather than the fantastical. If I knew nothing about this, I’d say this looks like any other YA fantasy book adaptation. I get not wanting to focus too much on the pandemic part due to current events, but this is a weak ass trailer.

My thoughts exactly. My interest in the story has always been focused on the pandemic part, the breakdown of society, etc.
Easier set up to. From slow burning intro of Stu and friends drinking, like any regular day, interspersed with the car driven out by the escaped scientist + family right before lock down. Then governmental assurances of the non seriousness of the virus, mixed in with crowded hospitals, panicky families, riots and healthy turning on healthy: paranoia and chaos at both macro and micro levels. And Flagg and Abigail as barely revealed, and when they are, just through enough level of insight and action that makes it clear they're obviously something....more.
I'll give it a chance but I really don't have high hopes after seeing this trailer.

I was all in to this reboot and God knows I've been in love with Alexander Skarsgard since True Blood BUT I saw Amber Heard so it's a hard NO! for me ✌🏿

They have Amber Heard in this serie, so everybody that is against domestically violence, and looking justice for Johnny Deep, who suffered as victim of Domestic violence by this horrible woman, must keep away from this serie. I personally will not support any company or project that includes her, because I will not support people that are pretending to be blind to abuse and violence, pushing up the criminal, and punishing the victim.

Agreed. I read the book for the first time a few years ago and adored it. Honestly I'm underwhelmed by this trailer.
I'll chime in as one man's opinion as someone who hasn't read the book. I was old enough to be aware of the story though, something about the apocalypse and fighting god or something? I'm probably off, that's as far as I know of it. Trailer looks intriguing to me, I felt it has good production value. I'm definitely interested in watching it, but maybe that's because I grew up with Whoopi Goldberg and it's been a long time since I've seen her in anything.

Lol, there’s always great little hidden gems in King movies or renditions of his books!
If I remember the book correctly, Tom Cullen has some kind of psychic powers that Mother Abagail refers to as 'The Shine', so I think the stories may be loosely connected.
It's cool that the series incorporates some of that, even if it's just a visual cue.
That's because all of Kings works are connected like a multiverse there not just cues they ALL are connected

It's on CBS All Access which doesn't have the same rules & regulations as regular old CBS. They swear on CBS All Access and there's more violence. I think it'll be okay. HBO would've been great though.

My experience is that when people call something "weak ass", they either haven't even read the book, or watched the 90's miniseries (while somewhat good, was cheesy).

I have read both versions of the book & have the DVD's in my collection & still really enjoy them, I had held of watching this series as the last movie I saw the lead actor in was Hop, that leaves a mark. Also that Heard woman was in it, but we've grown tied of Amazon & binge watched it over a few days as we have canceled & I was pleasantly suprised, the extra episods filled in a few blanks, so watch if you have some time to spare.

I love the book, read it through 3 times. Got the original mini-series on DVD and love it as well.
I know it's not out yet but it doesn't give me the same creepy vibe as the 94 mini series. Jamie Sheridan as randall flagg was incredibly creepy. I love itt

People, don't punish the entire show and everyone else who worked on it just because Amber Turd is in it. That's not fair to the _huge_ amount of people it takes to create shows like this. They started filming long before the Johnny-Amber situation.

I have literally read my way thru a half-dozen copies of The Stand, both the original and the uncut. I have a box set of Stephen King movies that has the original mini series. While I am not the "biggest fan ever", I can say HOLYCRISPYCRAP!!! Or, to put it another way, I am looking forward to seeing this. I can only hope I am not disappointed. Like I was with the Dark Tower movie.

Ok, i understand the (well deserved) hate Amber Heard is receiving, but I never found it fair to boycott an entire tv series just because of one person. Remember that Amber isn't the only working on it, there are other actors/actresses, makeup staff, set designers, etc. Thousands of people who don't deserve to lose money or the job.
Which is all fine and dandy, but the casting people shouldve factored this in when deciding who to cast.

The book is so immensely good at tackling the reader's imagination, I highly doubt one who has actually read that masterpiece will find anything worth it on screen. Save, maybe, for Misery's adaptation, not one of King's book has ever made a decent transition to a movie.
Others have, just ironically mostly not his horror stories. Stand By Me and The Shawshank Redemption were both adapted from King's books. Carrie, The Shining, and Doctor Sleep are all good, even if The Shining departs from the book.
I enjoy quite a few of the movie adaptations, but I agree that a movie simply has no way of really capturing King's writing style and the the journey it takes the reader on.... it's just not possible to draw out a scene or situation on screen like he does with words.
