- The Holy Light (Ἃγιον Φῶς) is described by Orthodox Christians as a miracle that occurs every year at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on Holy Saturday, the day preceding Orthodox Easter. This year after the Holy Light an unexplained intense beam of light suddenly appeared.
For those who believe no explanation is necessary. For those who do not believe no explanation will suffice. 💒

Do you know of the five patriarchates? There is Rome, Alexandria, Constantinople, Antioch and Jerusalem. After the schism, Rome wasn’t removed and we should recognize the pope as the bishop of Rome. As an Orthodox, I agree that Orthodoxy is the true Church, but I disagree that Catholics won’t earn salvation maybe because their view of salvation is the same as ours. Salvation is a free gift and to earn it, you just have to accept it.

Clearly just a sunbeam, although the timing of it at just that moment and from just the right angle might be seen as a minor miracle through the eyes of faith.
Once, while driving to church in the middle of the night -- around 1am on Holy Saturday -- to take my turn reading the Psalter before the plaschanitsa, a cross appeared in the sky around the full Paschal moon. Clearly just an atmospheric effect -- but again, with they eyes of faith you see signs where they appear for you.

It has everything to do with the orthodox church. The Catholics tried and they could not get the fire though it was the same Church. Onosha Ugory The sunlight should spread everywhere, even through the near windows, but it doesn't. It comes only from one. If such a strong light is from the sun, it should come through on or two of the other windows.
didsankaaa Looks like you do not know optics well. According to what you say, the sun should shine from all directions equally which is impossible. From other windows the sunlight comes at different angles and the effect is different. And here there is smoke from the incense and candles which works as a lens of sorts - all that adds to create visible beam of light. It is wonderful and beautiful but as miraculous as any beauty of Nature - not more, nor less))) Christ is risen!
