I think the quality of the finish itself is stunning. Personally, I think I'd have preferred a darker, more saturated shade of red for the final colour as to my eye that shade appears orange - but still, beautiful overall.
Agreed it looks extremely orange on camera, but maybe it’s more of a red irl
I like the orange shade. Unusual and beautiful. The contrasting matte black is a great touch too.
Nice looking paint. Not crazy about the orange-ish color. The deep red of the photo prototype car looks really nice IMO
he DID paint it red, the new paint is polyurethane trash and should not be used. i would go to an automotive store and get a little can of lacquer spraypaint and mix my own colors and not use hot wheels crap paint
Quite possibly the most beautiful diecast resto I've ever seen (I kinda liked the whitewall tires but still awesome). Wow. The green/orange one was my favorite matchbox as a kid and yes, I think the color was intended to grab a kid's attention. I remember picking it out from the revolving case and getting the Matchbox box with the car inside. Those SuperFast Matchbox cars were the cadillac of diecast! Thanks for the awesome vid and the great memories it brought back.
This was one of my favorite Matchbox/Hot Wheels I had as a kid.
This car turned out so great, i love Lesney cars, i really enjoyed the process of learning about their history, I personally really like the look of the original matchbox wheels and that is probably the only thing i would have done differently. Most people will like it the way you have done it, those wheels look awesome too. Good job.
I have mine from when I was a kid. It needs some work, so you posted this at the right time. Thanks.
My parents took their 25th anniversary trip in 1971 and brought back a multi-car pack that had this, the Ford Group VI (green), a Ferrari 512 (?) (red), a Lotus Europa (pinkish-purple), and one other I can't recall. So your surmise of early 70's is spot-on. Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd then I see the copyright 1970 on the car bottom.
This was one of my favorite cars in my childhood! Love to seen it again! Thanks for this video.
I had this car as a kid in the 70s and 80s. It was my dads favorite and one of my favorites. It was the fastest car I had on the orange hot wheels track. Sold all my cars in the late 90s, regret it all the time.
Looks great! I love that the Redline shop strives to come up with better methods to achieve great / better restorations! You are still & will always be my favorite 1/64 scale restoration Go to! Thanks again!
I like the paint and the car looks great. I can't believe how nice it turned out and it looks closer to the real car now then it originally did.
I think it looks great. Always delighted to ride along as you try something new.
Why this was in my recommendations is beyond me. But I still watched it for some reason. And actually watched the entire thing lol. Sometimes it's fun to just say F it, and watch a random recommendation. Nice video btw. Car turned out great
Wow!!! It looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor, fantastic. And the wheels and tires make it pop even more. It looks so real that I want to get in it and drive it on a track. Love your channel, haven't missed a video yet.
It certainly gives a person another direction in which to go, paint wise. I would have thought a polished body would have given the best shine. I see the logic of the crystals and the reflection of light off them. Like most things in life, it's never as simple as it looks.
Absolutely love this one! Looks slick! Color scheme is hot and the new paint method looks great!
Awesome video! I’ve been waiting patiently for a new one :)
The car looks absolutely stunning sir. You did an amazing job on the paint. The wheels are a perfect match for the car. Can't wait to see it again.
fixing the stance of the front end makes a huge difference. great job!
So rad! Never knew this prototype even existed. Looks gnarly.
Nice work bHW! Love to see more of these resto-mods. Thank you.👍🏼🤘🏼😎
I really admire how you do such "magic" with painting these tiny cars. My only comment is "Wow, nice job".
Oh oh oh that paintjob is AWESOME 👌 love the finish the look the cour choice.
Very nice finished product. Good choice of color. Really matches the look and era of the car.
It ended up looking great! I never liked these cars as a kid in the 70s, but now I think they are awesome. I like the 'tube technique' for the axles, and the tires look great overall. 😎
i gave away all my cars some years ago when we moved. i wish i still had mine just to see how rough the shape i put them in is lol but they went to a new home of a kid whos probably beating the shit out of em too lol cool to see you restore cars i used to play with.
You did a fantastic transformation on this car. Its almost doesn't look like the original you started with. This car reminds me of a car that was used in an episode of Speed Racer. I believe they made a diecast of it when they release all the speed racer cars back when the movie came out.
Beautiful. One of the best ones yet.
Baremetalhw....You are a true craftsman... I'm a huge fan
The paint job is incredible!
He owns this game on this rock. Incredible.
Love the way this one turned out ! Purely awesome to me !
Thanks for the history of that Lesney
Holy shit! I literally have this exact model... age and damage is almost identical too! Totally wicked seeing what mine could look like. Seriously considering trying this out of a few old common beaters I have. EXCELLENT JOB!
Totally rad! Groovy job, man. Far out!
Really. Great job! Love the paint.
wow...beatiful car, when i was child have one congratulation from Costa Rica...
I remember owning this car. I loved the looks of the Matchbox cars. Plus some had suspension. I loved the look of this one. Sadly I lost it and I've never found a replacement. Well one that was cheap enough. Beautiful car though.
Love the result and casting! Nice job!
It turned out lovely. I really like the color. To me it looks like a shiny copper.
Your new paint system is amazing!!! I gasped when I saw it. Between the paint job and the color you chose its perfect
This method looks fantastic! I also love the color and the new wheels set it off. Great work as usual.
Great job! This is one of my favorite restorations; the color and paint is super and I love the undercarriage flat black and oversized wheels in the back.
These videos are so much better than asmr for me.
It turned out great fantastic as original as you can come to look.hit it spot on.
I have the MPC plastic model of this car, it's not completed though. My jaw dropped when I saw this video, I just went and checked my version and it's dark orange with a black bottom and chrome bits. If I had the time and the glue...I'd add a Back To The Future mod to it! Can you imagine a BTTF mod for every kind of model car? Why reserve it for just Deloreans? I think a whole bunch of different cars made up like that would be a laugh-fest! LMAO!!!
Turned out awesome, dig the sparkle in the finish.
Nice job, fella and another interesting video. Well done and many thanks for sharing.
Boy did that turn out amazing. Great job!
Awesome job! Car looks great! As for the new painting method, I think I speak for a lot of your audience when I say, if you're happy with it, we're happy with it!
Sweet restoration, really like the color!.....Bill
That’s a pretty stunning result!
I love these cars and have 4 or 5 of them myself waiting to restore. Thank you for the inspiration as always! I do like the way this one looks with the new wheels and paint method. I agree it hides metal flaws better but your "usual" method of zinc plating with straight spectra flame over it does the job very well.
The look really comes through on camera! Awesome technique!
that metal flake looks fantastic
I think the paint looks amazing. It is definitely an option to the spectraflame process as a whole. Thanks for sharing the experimental process
Beautiful finish , looks amazing.
I love the new painting technique. Gives such a rich finish
The paint you gave it make the car look like Samus' Space Ship.
Jeez that paint job looks so good! One of ur best works!
that is a fantastic looking paint job.
I have one of these and just didn't know what to do with it. Thanks for the inspiration 😎
Really like the color and wheel choice, nice job.
I like the new technique. The car looks factory fresh, which seems to be the goal
Nice job! Love the paint!
Really great looking end result.
The color came out nice👍 It looks really good!
Man.... I Love These Videos👍
It’s like I’m back in time when my cars were new, many..many....many years ago😂
What a beaut interpretation of this car!
Paint fits the era too!
Cheers
turned out better than new condition! well done.
This new paint looks great!
I still have one of these sitting downstairs! I always loved it as a kid
Looks beautiful. Well done mate. Thanks
Great job, looks amazing. 😎👍
Awesome !!!!!!!! It looks 10 times better now. Very Cool !!!!!!!!!
Amazing result !
Nice custom. Nice paint job and color. Looks really nice overall
Amazing job on this model 👍
Very nice finish, thanks for sharing
Excellent results!
Oh yeah, great look, nice finish on the body, shame the window has gaps in it, 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘🦘
Now this? This is radical.
Love the finish. Even the color.
Great job. Car looks awesome
Always great job!
Great video, and the car looks amazing!
That's awesome looking car , I have one in green. Super Car 👍
That turned out beautiful!
beautiful result!!
In love with that color
Late 70's,if I'm not mistaken.
Because I HAVE IT!!!
It's one of the few cars from my childhood that I kept.
The rest,& most of which,I gave away when I was clearing out cupboards (for which I could repeatedly kick myself to infinity!).😩😢
My mom used to buy 1 a week,or so,for me since I was about 3.
I must have gotten this when I was about 4,which was in 1978.
Oh,how I miss those days.
If only I had a Time Machine!😔
After seeing the year on the base,I could be totally wrong.
But I did get mine in '78,same colour & everything.
Just checked my old stash.
Seems I remembered completely wrong,because IT'S GONE!
Looks like I gave it away after all.
I really do need to kick myself now!
looks amazing keep up the good work
Wonderfull paintjob.
You did it again, Great job :)
Man, what a beautiful car, I'm surprised I'd never heard of it before this vid. While the model came out spectacularly, I honestly think the whitewall side of the tires would've looked better...then again, I'm one of those crazies who think whitewalls make any vintage car look better.
As always,,, great work!!
Paint looks great!
I love the design of this car...
Just an opinion, but I liked the white walls better.
Great job on the restoration!
It looks amazing!
Yes good content and good use of spectra flame paints
