I have watched a few of your Tubes & I find that this is by fay the most informative. I have not yet bought this game, but I have seen quite a few Tubers, yourself included, where I have learned a lot. Maybe enough to start playing without using the Tutorial. When you say runway 10, it kept changing to runway 28 and couldnt recognize the voice. that was the problem with the departure too xD good stuff though! love the voice mate. i also legit laughed out loud when you just told that AC to contact departure to not deal with him anymore xDDDD

I was at the beginnings of a really nasty sinus and throat infection. I think that made me very difficult to understand as my test run the day before was seamless lol. I hope to have a full go soon.
Great informative video, thank you. It looks like although you cleared the aircraft to take off on runway 10 (should be One-Zero and Two-Eight), the text line showed runway 28 on both occasions which had the tailwind issue - instead of the intended 10. Voice recognition accuracy still has a long way to go with these sims.

You are absolutely correct reg runway 1 zero etc and I hadn't noticed it got stuck, so thanks for pointing that out :-)
Thankfully the voice rec has been updated recently and does seem better and in the games defence I had a chest infection altering my voice too. Great game tbh, when you get the swing right it's a lot of fun.
You are looking from North to South. Look at the top down map. The tower is on the North side of the runway.

Runway ten should be runway one zero! Why clear an a/c to take-off on one runway and clear another to land on the reciprocal. Dangerous and the landing a/c has a tail wind. You selected both runways when you should have selected only one.
+volo libero I could not get that ac to land on any runway. I was literally trying to get it to land anywhere lol.
In my defence I had a nasty cold already and my thought patterns were a little mixed up.

If you read what it transcribed. You said "10" but it transcribed to "28"... That's why it was "negative" when you tried runway 10

Actually some airports (e.g., LAX) have opposite direction at times. It's not dangerous, per se, but is more challenging and requires more planning.

But besides the mistakes you made, it was a good review/tutorial. Also strange that is recognizes ten as 28. (As you said, check the commands in the box)

What I previously used no longer works and the options are limited + or pricey. Microsoft do offer a few variations that can be manipulated to work (possibly). Too complex a suggestion though to answer in a single comment.

1 thing I noticed during your gameplay, you were giving commands and the text was saying different, and you was asking what the problem was, try reading what you say and you will realise its the voice recognition that was the problem :)

Actually having played the game quite a lot prior to this review I can confirm that the issue was actually down to me being in the initial stages of a pretty serious throat infection which was in actual fact causing the voice recognition to struggle to understand me, it is actually pretty effective in normal circumstances.
So the review `gameplay` is a little ruined due to this but the content and review critique is still accurate.

The active RWY is 28. You are trying to land 8251 on RWY10. ATIS likely says 'Landing and departing Rwy 28.
You're probably right, I need to get back into this game, forgot how much I like it!

I've just watched another video on this game. OMG!!,..the guy had a MOD/DLC and it looked pretty amazing, to me at least anyway. I'm going to have a serious look at this. I absolutely love my X-Plane 10 so this would make a change from pilot to ATC.
I am even more interested now...mods and DLC! I need my ATC kick

Nice video :) i boght this game yesterday, after I change language from Swedish to English (US) in Windows 10 i could use voice recognition in Windows 10, but the game dont like my English with Swedish accent its be a mess in command field onTower!3D pro.
+MPS _Gaming yes it does need some significant training, my man flu had significant implications to the voice recognition. When it's working well it's excellent fun.

Tbh the speech recognition was fine before I got a throat infection...not sure that was the entire issue but certainly it did not help matters.

Thank you Panic, in all honesty I was better before I made this video. I had just started to come down with a terrible throat infection as I was making it and everything kind of fell apart during the gameplay phase, dizzyness, voice recognition failed repeatedly etc.. The day before this review recording I was absolutely bossing it!
So I'm going to make a video again soon and see how good I am :-)
It says in the 'help' on the website that you have to train your computer first and set language to eng. Where and how do I do that? I have no idea and my voice recognition doesn't work obviously
+Fufilschmerz SM not really but it makes things better.
Go into windows control panel > sound devices > mic > voice recognition and there is a script.you read and it learns your voice.
Some of the link names I made up as I am on my phone and cannot remember the real name....so use it as a logical guide only.

I agree, points come in very slowly and go out the window real fast. Just be more careful haha. Always give priority to arrivals, and try to say via which taxiway you want your traffic to use so that planes don't get stuck
XD I was trying to be super efficient, apparently having an aircraft line up whilst another is still taking off is frowned upon in ATC circles lol.
Yeah prior to this recording I had great success with that, I had a throat infection just started when I made this video and the voice rec was suffering to understand me as a result. I'm looking to get back into this game, it's really good fun when you get the rhythm right! +1
Also, your problem asking to takeoff from runway 10 is that you were saying "runway ten". You should have said "runway one zero". If you read the text at the top, you'll see they switched up 10 and 28 and everything.
Also, I didn't check the whole video, I don't know if you had to use it, but whenever you want to say "9", it's not "nine", but rather "niner". Example: MAX2598 would be "Magic two five niner eight". Same thing goes with runways, Runway 9L would be pronounced "Runway niner left"
and final point, if your active runway is runway 10, do NOT make aircrafts depart from runway 28... you should land AND takeoff from 10. You were scared to have the airplane departing and the airplane landing hit each other. This is the kind of things that will make them collide lol. AND that cost ya 500 more point right there XD

hi, I have some question that when ever I try to use speech recognition, press shift and say commends, window help and support pop-ups and mouse grid things keep making me annoy.. do you know any solution about this? i wanna stop help and support thing pops up
Gosh yes I remember this issue, but not the solution. I'm going to play again very soon so I'll try and remember how I solved that issue.

Are the real airlines part of a DLC or do they come with the game? I am thinking of getting the game however I am unsure if you need to buy a different bundle to have realistic airlines.
+Jason Kanarsh unfortunately and I think pretty rudely, you do need to buy DLC'S to get official aircraft and another one for their official liveries....that's and additional £25 and I think is pretty outragious imho.

I purchased this game through steam too, voice commands are absolutely ridiculous, as in rubbish, the only thing it recognises is contact departure and that’s about it for me. I have trained my pc a few times and still the same, I have changed all the windows voice/ speech settings to English uk and retrained the computer four more times and guess what, still do not understand what I’m saying, it’s fine by the mouse but surely the attraction of this game in the first place is the voice commands, so unless this improves quickly I think I have wasted my hard earned cash, unless someone out there can HELP ME PLEASE

Sim UK thanks bud and will do, I have done loads of extra voice training on the windows prog and it is or seems to be getting slightly better, slightly, had this situation today where no planes would take off or land due to wind, lost loads of points but had no idea what to do. Also I can’t seem to move the scenery around at all, I think you were doing it with the mouse but mine won’t work, so I’m wondering if there is a problem with mine, such a shame as this has the potential to be a very good game. Can anyone help me. I keep trying to speak into my mic using PTT however the game is not picking up what I'm saying. My mic has been set up completely but Tower 3D Pro still doesn't pick up what I'm saying through the mic.

For some reason it kept thinking you were saying 28 instead of 10.
I was pretty unwell when I made this video...my voice was slightly off and nothing seemed to work properly. The voice rec. actually works pretty well normally :-)
Would you say this game is slow paced compared to Airport Madness? I was thinking about purchasing this game after your review but I am not too sure. Also, is there a big difference between the Pro and normal version?
+Just me pro gives you voice recognition. That alone is worthy of the extra investment.
This is not slow paced at all, it can be though....you can control the pace and there are times when the number of flights drop.
When it's busy it is very authentic and very busy.
If you're atc enthusiast this is a great choice :-)

Hi!! I'm having major troubles getting my voice recognition to work. If I bought the game directly from FeelThere and not steam, how can I still check the file's integrity?
+Micky Block you can't in the same way at all. Reinstall and make sure that your voice rec is set to usa. Remember to hold left shift.
I've reinstalled it, and am holding left shift when I attempt to talk. What's the next step to fixing the issue?

If you're on steam validate.
I go to settings, and when I click on test speech or test recog, I get no response from both. My mic should be on but how can I check that it is?
How did you contact steam to find out there was a problem ?
Try validating your game on steam, I am pretty sure that helped me.
Sim UK I have to admit something, maybe I was being a bit hasty, this game is going to take patience, a department I’ve always struggled in lol. If you do the pc speech training over and over, use the game over and over the voice recognition within the game gets better and better, I am actually enjoying this game immensely now it is working better, one of those games where you wonder where the last three hours have gone lol. Hi Janet, my graphics card GTX970 allows for multiple monitors to be connected at once. Most NVidia graphics cards are like this and to be honest most modern ones too.

hey i was just thinking, im trying to play the game, (first time, clearly xD ), and i was wondering is it possiblo to move the radar "DBRIT" or any other radar to another screen, i mean i've tried that, but it just stay on my main scree on my pc, i can not move it to my tv ammm, so i was wondering... is it really possible or i just lived cheated all my livexD

@@SimUKReviews yes there is the little button to switch the screen, but when i push it, it doesnt do anything, haa so the problem might be my pc, or maybe the HMDI wire, it has caused me some troubles to with my xbox, so maybe one of them. but... well it doens really matter, i mean i can scroll the windows to my tv and play on it instead of my laptop, more -space to see the radars on my tv.
as i have the pro version too, please let me know if you play again one of these days, so we might play on multiplayer, i would like to check that mode too.

It is also a bit cheaper tbh.
I went for the pro version anyway, besides the reviews for without pro were quite bad
TBH I do think the Pro version is the better choice, it's the ability to command the entire airport almost exactly as you would in real-life.
In my review I was starting a throat infection and I think that significantly affected the game understanding my commands.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, I need to make another video on this.

Hello! I recently bought this game mainly for the voice recognition. For some reason the voice recognition doesn't work. I purchased the game on Steam. If someone could help me that would be great. Thanks! Oh and also it wont let me run the game as administrator.
For me try validating the game. I had 1 single file repeatedly failing to materialise and validating did not work! I had to reinstall.
I tried that and it didnt work.

How to use voice recognition?
You must have the Pro version. If you need a tutorial for setup I can make one :-)
I have the pro version, I just don't know how to use it. Can you make tutorial please?
OK well the short version is to setup your voice recognition to work in American, follow the test scipts and setup and then in-game test (via settings to make sure you have pilot speech). If all is good then you will need to press the left shift button to speak and release once the spoken text has been confirmed.
This can cause issues with sticky keys so turn that off.
All of this is described (sort of) in the manual so follow that and you should be good....except lots of people have issues, if you have done all this and still not working then you need to try some problem solving solutions, I'll make a video on this at some point.

Oh I actually do, my issue was trying to string complex multi tier commands to the voice rec. on a day when I should have just kept it simple :-)
