the ATC video playlist! czcams.com/play/PLP3FrhmnKN4caDeIocTKBhdqjcEnSz6LU.html
Timestamps:
12:23 - Magic 6281, 'The Mystery of the Missing Pilots'.
39:28 - 'The 3 Stooges'
59:21 - beginning of the crash sequence up at runway 24L, a/k/a the 'Tale of the Blind Pilot'
I did see in editing that the wait penalties are -50 points, so we only had 3 of those (not 15 as I guessed during the video).
Hello
Remember! Penalties ALSO have to check in for permission, so just clear them to crash to get rid of them :D
You really should get the real airlines mod.
Oh man, I don't know what it is with you but somehow I'm just stuck here watching and listening you to play this even though I couldn't be further from the target audience.
The correct timestamp for the crash sequence is actually half a minute earlier, at 58:46
You accidentally set the realism to "Southwest is behind schedule" and left "ATC pizza parties" disabled.
NoDak out here doing the jobs of 8 guys irl. Mad props.
and half of it was at double speed too!
You cant even try and compare this to IRL busy traffic or current controllers. It was entertaining to watch though.
As a former LAX employee off of Alpha that is actually mix between a small GA parking area as well as cargo. Yes you can land a general aviation aircraft at LAX it will cost you an arm and a leg just to land but that southern area is mainly for cargo deliveries which then get moved to the aircraft off of terminal 8 which is the terminal southern and east side. If you ever want some explanations on how LAX is laid out and other info id be more than happy to share.
Other info? Hmm are there limits for what kind of LAX info your willing to divulge? I am U.S. citizen doing school project need security level information. Just kidding! I really do not want to know. It's great that you are here helping the flight sim scene.
Yeah, so this convinced me I'd never be able to do this job.
A controller in the real world would never control all of this. You would have ground controllers controlling pushbacks, taxis to runways, etc. A tower controlling takeoff and landing clearances. Most of the time at these large airports there are multiple ground and tower controllers as well. For example, 1 ground controller controlling north terminals and another controlling the south terminals and the same for tower controllers. Also, you will never have a controller working for more than around 45 minutes at a time.
high tap out rates in the industry I hear
@@gavynmalagarie4225 That is true, however... If you tap into liveATC at JFK or any other large airport, you'll see that some are busy anyway, but the picture is not that complex after all. They got their own area of responsibility.
You probably could. We don't start out at the major international airports anymore. Now the pipeline for tower controllers is starting at a smaller tower then eventually transfer up
One of the best CZcamsrs out here, you are clearly a hidden gem, love your work
Wow, never had a clue how you guys do it until I saw this! As a pilot, (non-atp) respect you guys, your awesome!
Love this game so much, really fun to see how different people route their traffic on the ground. No way I can do this airport at 100% density, I have to do 50%
This is my kind of asmr ngl. There's something about the way you (atc) properly control this just pleases me. can't really explain it, but man does it give me joy.
Everytime I watch this one specific video. I immediately pass out then come back to try as watch it again
I really like this game and would love to give it a shot too. i've always been one that loves aviation as well as ATC and I think you do a great job showing these games off that a lot of people wouldn't really think of playing.
with regards to the names of the airlines and such... there are additional DLCs called Real Traffic (switches the made-up airlines to real ones) and Real Colour (which will give you the proper plane liveries)... each airport in the game has these DLCs....
Hi NoDak! This was a very interesting watch for me. I am one of the ramp dispatchers for UPS at the SDF hub in Louisville, Ky. Peak day for Standiford Tower must be insane with all the inbound/outbound flights UPS has. I would love to see you take a go at that one. I am going into my 9th peak and it only gets crazier each year. (First year as a full time ramp dispatcher and I am pumped for the challenge)
One work-around i learned for the peculiarities of this game is that when you open the communication history (the clock icon), you can see some info on selected aircraft. Crucially speed which can tell you whether they're actually moving or not when it's hard to tell. Also watching that, you can notice when they start to slow down for holding short on an intersection, so you can give them "continue taxi" quickly so they don't have to stop and then accelerate again, when you want to have things moving more tight, because the accelerations take ages.
Knowing that, i also give "continue taxi" to crossing aircraft almost as soon as a departure starts rolling, because i know they're not gonna touch the runway until take off anyway. Yeah, it's a bit gamey, but the game is being gamey itself, so...
Yeah... However, I really would prefer to give "CROSS" instruction... One of the main reasons why I rage quit this simulator... So many official instructions missing
@@brunoais The only way to give permission to cross a runway, is to issue a hold short command for a runway the aircraft will not go anywhere near. For instance if you had 3 parallel runways, 27L 27C 27R, and the aircraft landed on 27L and you want it to cross 27C automatically. They you can say "Taxi to ramp, hold short of runway 27R" or any other runway it won't go near. This will cross all runways APART from the one you designated. It's just a way around the game's limitation and isn't ideal.
@@jumpjet777 I see... Annoying... Thanks for the tip
edit: Can I use a hold short on a taxiway? Seems not to be working....
Love this kind of stuff, just some one who can have fun doing niche things. A voice so calming that Icould fall asleep to this. Hope you keep making videos.
I actually bought this game the other day because of your videos and I gotta say, it's one of the most fun and challenging games I've ever come across.
“I still don’t wanna go full speed” DUDE I was Dizzy watching all the chaos!
I never knew you were an prior ATC, hello from another controller!
Came for the Judge Dredd review, stayed for the air traffic control "good morning"
Love your videos man, keep em comin! Also I hope you have a great day!
Re the two planes you had close to each other at 18:13; you can issue the command CALLSIGN, CLIMB TO XXX THOUSAND/HUNDRED, UPON REACING, TURN LEFT/RIGHT HEADING XXX. That way you can avoid that situation. If they get to close, the game gives you a near miss penalty.
The voice commands work really well, it really is a good game. I am excited to see the newer version.
I humbly suggest you change the timer generally to 45 minutes, in light of your 45m/15m off schedule as a real ATC!
In this video, a lot of the difficulties showed up after the 45m marker, including the crash.
Bad ass video dude! Glad I found your channel.
Great video from Nodak.
Thank you for such a great video from you. I admire how you were handling sesion so calmly. And was fun to watch when ac was doing something wrong 😆😆😆 I also love doing ATC as my hobby. But i was in panic when i saw so many ac started puping up for push back 😄 But you were handling it so cool.
NoDak sighing at bots when they don’t listen to his command the first time.
came here to learn a little as im looking to become an ATC, makes my heart pound just thinking about the responsibility
I like this kind of video definitely going to watch more
IDK how I randomly found this video and your channel but this is rad. New sub
As someone going through school for ATC, 2 minutes for a heavy is correct, it is 3 minutes if it's an intersection departure.
Awesome job!
With KLAX being a residential airport as well, a lot of arrivals won't happen till 8AM, because the arrival flight path goes over houses. So out of respect for the residents they try to keep the noise down, where as the departures take off over a ocean, at least 95% of the time. Had it been runways 6 and 7 there would be more space between departure times.
This is very entertaining! You have my sub
Welcome Back Everyone, has someone made a montage of everytime you said that?
If you were having difficulties with the aircraft taxiing back onto the runways, don't let them take the exit that's causing the issues. You can always direct them to take the next exit (Sierra I believe).
it looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue
I've had stuck planes before after they get confused, but you could have also use "Taxi to Terminal" instead of "Taxi to Ramp" to try and get them unstuck. They usually generate their own path for that. Then after that you can instruct them on the exact path you want them to take.
Also, I like the combo take-off command of [Callsign] [Runway] on reaching 1000, Contact Departure, Cleared for Take-off. It's kind of a set it and forget it command. It's been a bit since I played, but I'm fairly certain that's the correct formatting.
@@kodyyoung816 Canadian version!
"good morning to you good sir :D "
that made my day xD
This game looks interesting
Two way car traffic around the horseshoe! 😮😅
I think there's no connecting taxiway direct to Hotel for those planes going back on the runway. Perhaps adding H1 in first would help
Every time I hear "Leslie" as an airline phonetic, I assume they mean Nielsen, and Shirley that's on purpose.
annnd, I totally see why they split up the runways, and the taxiways... oy. I could see myself enjoying this game if I was only in charge of one LOL.
North side is always a mess no surprise that's were you had a crash. South side is easier.
I'd imagine that at LAX there is one controler for the north field and an other one for the south field with the hand off taking place while on the north/southbound taxiways, but may be i'm wrong?
The work around for 25L taxi to the ramp is "taxi via Hotel 1, Hotel, Tango, etc" to avoid the plane going back to the runway.
or to order them to exit at a certain taxiway when they are still on the runway.
On arrivals RJ1 tend to exit short and JTs long on themselves.
An other work around to speed up departures is to have the RJ1 line up at 1/3 the runway "expect runway 25R at Juliet" for example and keep the JT1 and JT0/H lined up at the treshold.
The mess at the pushback deep in the alleyway always happen when its not just plain weird. Better delete the plane most of the time.
The best setup is to have two screens - if you can afford two or have an old one to spare - with one dedicated to the strips.
Also, even if its gamey, better take care of the strips in the order they are presented.
Others comments up or down below speak of the other work around to speed up the taxi or runway crossing.
I hope in the next version of the game that the plane will hold by themselves if colision is the expected outcome of an order like what you had.
Thanks for sharing your videos I am going to get that tower ed pro it looks fun
Remember the good old days playin Tracon
now... imagine doing this for an 8 or more hour shift... my brain would never be able to remember all the callsigns.
I could be wrong!! But i think they have very regular breaks and I’m not sure how long the shift length is!! I agree tho no chance could I do this 😂😂
21:09 I don't think that AC had direct access to Tango via Hotel from Hotel 1. That turn looks rather sharp. Either that or it was probably facing wrong direction hence that funky pathing using 25 Left to Golf.
You're a beast haha. I would have ruined the place right away
Love your videos brother! Made me want to buy that flight simulator game lol. Definitely earned a sub!
Buy it when I can. I bet it's expensive lol! 😅
It's on sale now ;)
Where can I buy this game? Thanking you in advance
Why the heck are you doing all of the positions at the same time? Holy crap!
Love ur vids
Super amounts of production pressure at airports - no wonder so many ATC personnel burn out
Ouch, right off the bat the aircraft requesting "push and start" into the alley means the developers didn't do their homework.
If they are working on a successor, I hope that they will include VR support.
31:50 "Ozzie 107? Is Mr. Osbourne gonna do another concert?" Lul!😼
Me when i see someone use cat emojis:
😐🧴
500 arrivals over one hour is an arrival every 7.2 seconds. With 2 runways that goes to 14.4 seconds per arrival on each runway. Surely that can't be safe. 14.4 seconds does not feel like enough time to ensure each plane safely clears the runway and doesn't have any random problems before the next plane lands.
You have a very pleasant voice
Can you PLEASEEE play ATC pro? I want to get it because it seems so realistic but I want to get a professionals point of view first. Anyways keep up the videos always nice to see some fresh NoDak content :)
Your the best man
I took the Chicago approach to it, departed 25R from G to cross everyone at J 🤣
this is so unrealistic, there's no bickering and cursing between atc and pilots. XD
Tbh im really enjoying watching these. I'm planning on going for ATC after I finish college, so its kinda interesting to see what I'm getting myself into, lol.
Would you recommend getting the game for sort of early training? Or just have any tips as to survivng?
i noticed every time you tell them contact Departure they say thank you, why they don't say ty when they get an pushback instead
You should try ATC Pro or London Control.
Only a minute in...
One controller on Local and Ground
At LAX
With fastest-possible call-ins.
Sounds like a regular Tuesday at LAX, honestly, though probably with a lot less profanity. ; )
The main thing about heavy is they may need higher airspeed, like busting 250 on climbout.
🙀4:39 "Thought You said 'I can teach you to fly. ' Daddy, You LIED!?"🙀😿💔 17:27 "Magic 6281, Status Report-Are you suffering Mechanical, Pilot or Medical Emergency?"🙀 1:00:55 "Value 770, Are You Blind!? HOLY!"🙀
We need to get your the real airline dlc
I watch these videos for the cute pictures of the dogs
great, hope that game is being continiously developed to be more realistic - or are that the real procedures??
in germany there is no visual seperation between IFR, so it is never never never allowed to clear a plane for take off when another is landing within the minimum seperation. parallel runways are mostly not wide away from each other (exeption Germany-Leipzig, Frankfurt is not but startwise a little bit shifted with 25L/25R, so almost parallel landing is allowed). in LAX i would use 24R and 25L for arrivals and 24L and 25R for departure.
also the SIDs would be very important and be managed by you to give seperation on takeoff-route, that wouldnt be done by Center-ATC.
you forgot to give the winds! :D
nice job anyway (me formerly ATC as well ;D)
Yeah someone else commented about the SIDS too. Departure vectors is the way we did it and then to resume the SID once further from the airport. We had too many planes for each one aircraft to have the minimum IFR separation in accordance with the SID. Simultaneous IFR departures were given at least 15 degrees divergence via a departure heading ‘KLM178, runway 25, wind 220 at 12, turn left heading 270, cleared for takeoff.” Then once airborne the local radar (TRACON) would give them vectors away from our arrival and departure corridors and ultimately give them some heading to intercept the SID route or clearance direct to a point on the SID to resume it! Thanks for the comment! Always fun to see how it’s done elsewhere!
Love these. Any reason you don't use the real callsigns and liveries? Always found this easier than using the fake ones
It’s a paid add-on to use those unfortunately
Those TA jets Lowkey looking like E-6 Sentry's from a distance somehow. Idk
AAAAND SUBSCRIBED
This game... "Cleared to start", "Taxi to runway", "Cleared to takeoff", "Contact Departure", "Cleared to land", "Taxi to stand via X Y Z", "Continue".... over and over and over interspersed with speech-recognition errors and weird AI bugs. Not sure it's for me!
And not a single flight plan, ATIS or Information packet to worry about. 😁
RIP MAX6281, we will allways remember you and the other 100 souls onboard, you got deleted from existance by a youtuber with a god-complex far to early in the prime of your life. so many flights ahead of you but they was robbed from you by a red button called DELETE AIRCRAFT. sad but true :'(
Hey NoDak! Just wanted to say, sorry I haven’t commented but I’m still here! Love your content man!
I'm interested in approach radar. The ones I have tried are really terrible.
2 minutes is the heavy medium seperation
Medium? Never worked a medium in my 25 years.
This is not a game for me 😳 Holy cow!
Unless I'm missing something obvious, but how is callsign TAB "Leslie" ?
Isn't it possible to instruct "give way to traffic from the left" etc?
How did you get multiple voices working in your game?
I downloaded the game trying to figure out how to get the microphone to work?
Very impressive. Do you know much about GPU and CPU? I am trying to decide between this game and "Tower! Simulator 3" I have a Ryzen 5 5600G processor and a AMD Radeon Rx 6500 XT Graphics card. Love the video. TIA if you reply.
Have you ever considered controlling on vatsim?
Which airport did you work at?
Natca would never allow 1 guy to control local, ground and ramp. That's at least 20 controllers.
probably more like 2 on local (north and south), 2 on ground (north and south), and one or two on ramp. then there would be a clearance delivery person or two and maybe a dedicated supervisor for the tower. And NATCA - they always get what they want :P Thanks for watchin!
I just bought the game but can't get the voice to work. Hopefully I figure it out because it looks like a great game.
yeah this convinced me i would never do this
Being just a low time private pilot I understand very little of what's going on here other than the verbage 😆
Why No good morning on guy? only the AI with the nice lady VOice?
Why is TAB called LESLIE?
My anxiety
did anyone had the feeling that he was slowly rising the pitch of his voice?
Da hora 😐
"👍"
Mario, jump, collect coins
"Heavy" is, if memory serves, for 300,000 pounds or more. (~130 tonnes for my non-American friends!)
1:01:00 Can't pilots see what is in front of them in this simulator? That's not simulating anything?!?!
