when I saw the bots shooting lazer balls I felt a Touhou danmaku vibe and this is a 3d character action this is all I ever wanted in a video game. Cutting through walls of bullets and having projectiles grazing ya I think the endgame will be beautiful bullet hell and sick combos

God I loved the original Nier, still one of my favorite recent JRPG plots. Hell, maybe favorite in general. And this demo? Strong ps1 era demo feel with the giant mech boss at the end being something crazy like the stage itself when I played it, brought back my memories of playing the FF 8 demo and fighting that goddamn robotic spider, as well as the 7 demo before that that had the 'blow up the mako reactor' bombing mission prologue from the stories' very beginning as the demo.

I love that you guys know about Drakengard and that honorable mention about Drakengard 3's story being great. I hope this game does well so Yoko Taro can actually flesh out the universe and give it the credit it deserves and videos specifically like this help to convey the positive aspects. I plan on aggressively advertising for the game to do my part as well (cosplay, gameplay, events). That part where the factory says those random lines and 9S says it was random and nonsensical is basically a blatant hint for the viewer to not believe it as you said, and there's a good chance it will eventually connect to the Old World mentioned in Drakengard 3. One more interesting point. You guys said "it's not as twitch, but you can MAKE it as twitch as you want", I agree. it's testament to how smooth and flexible the fight engine really is.

You don't need to hold R2 to do the ninja run. Just tap it, hold the analog. And the prompt is when you get enemies down to certain HP, they'll fall or get stunned. So you can do a finisher. Don't know the use for it, though. Maybe you have a high chance of getting rare items if you do them. Rub the touchpad to pat your pod. Your pod's voice also sounds like DC Douglas (Wesker, Grimoire Noire, etc).
This has the potential to finally overthrow Xenogears as my favorite game. My favorite video game story teller, coupled with one of my favorite developers, with my favorite character desiger, with one of my favorite composers. This game is a dream come true.
The demo does have an upper cut by the way. It is jump plus heavy attack (X and than press Triangle while going up). It acts as a High time and launches opponents into the air. Also you can use bare fist which has a different moveset. Oh and you can hover ever so slightly by holding x when jumping. When starting a heavy combo you start with throwing the weapon that does a lot of damage and than can use your light attacks while the sword is still swinging at the enemy which can also serve as a mid range heavy damage projectile since you can dash out of the ending animation.
seriously Microsoft, take notes ,THIS is how you get people hyped for a platinum game ; not by cutting the first boss fight in Scalebound down to 5 fucking minutes and more than likely taking out all the cinematic scenes

Aside from all the flipping she does and the like, the camera by default purposely can't be angled right up her skirt, and if you try she knocks it away. The exception to this is ladders. Ladders are the gateway to her thickness. Because unlike a typical japanese character she got back and hips.
Well, this game takes place after YoRHa (a stage play Yoko Taro wrote), which takes place after Nier's ending E (which is basically just a continuation of ending D), so it's definitely not going to be a Drakengard 3 sequel. But knowing Yoko Taro, I wouldn't be suprised Automata somehow had a closer relation to Drakengard 1 and 3 than it does to Nier. Regardless, it's going to be one hell of a ride with Platinum handling the gameplay, Taro directing, and Keiichi Okabe composing the soundtrack. As both of you said, here's hoping that this might just be the greatest thing ever.
I could see some connection being made between the Yohra models and the time-jumping android from Drakengard 3 who records the branches of time, if nothing else. It will certainly link still to 1 and 3, being that 3 is a prequel and 1 is what leads to Nier. ...not 2 though, Taro didnt do 2, he has made known his distaste in several ways toward 2, and he goes out of his way to make sure that that game is as retconned and ignored by his later titles as possible, even going so far as to have gleefully at its conception pointed out 3's link to 1 and Nier, and just never bringing up 2 at all. He also apparently made a Drakengard 2 manga just so he could kill most the characters or ruing their happy endings.

This has the potential to finally overthrow Xenogears as my favorite game. My favorite video game story teller, coupled with one of my favorite developers, with my favorite character desiger, with one of my favorite composers. This game is a dream come true.

The demo does have an upper cut by the way. It is jump plus heavy attack (X and than press Triangle while going up). It acts as a High time and launches opponents into the air. Also you can use bare fist which has a different moveset. Oh and you can hover ever so slightly by holding x when jumping. When starting a heavy combo you start with throwing the weapon that does a lot of damage and than can use your light attacks while the sword is still swinging at the enemy which can also serve as a mid range heavy damage projectile since you can dash out of the ending animation.

Shame that Drakengard 1's gameplay had to range from rough to straight up painful. It's one of those stories that's so bizarre and twisted that I wish more people had seen it.

On a side note, if you jump and inmediatly press triangle you do a rising attack and charged triangle has a follow up if you press a direction if i remember correctly. Point is there's a few hidden attacks

Aside from all the flipping she does and the like, the camera by default purposely can't be angled right up her skirt, and if you try she knocks it away. The exception to this is ladders. Ladders are the gateway to her thickness. Because unlike a typical japanese character she got back and hips.
That or simply using the strong air attack of the fist moveset.

Yeah, 2B is a rarity in japanese games, you never see a protagonist with a huge 'backstory' like her, most of the time they care about the foreground.

Well, this game takes place after YoRHa (a stage play Yoko Taro wrote), which takes place after Nier's ending E (which is basically just a continuation of ending D), so it's definitely not going to be a Drakengard 3 sequel. But knowing Yoko Taro, I wouldn't be suprised Automata somehow had a closer relation to Drakengard 1 and 3 than it does to Nier. Regardless, it's going to be one hell of a ride with Platinum handling the gameplay, Taro directing, and Keiichi Okabe composing the soundtrack. As both of you said, here's hoping that this might just be the greatest thing ever.
I could see some connection being made between the Yohra models and the time-jumping android from Drakengard 3 who records the branches of time, if nothing else. It will certainly link still to 1 and 3, being that 3 is a prequel and 1 is what leads to Nier.
...not 2 though, Taro didnt do 2, he has made known his distaste in several ways toward 2, and he goes out of his way to make sure that that game is as retconned and ignored by his later titles as possible, even going so far as to have gleefully at its conception pointed out 3's link to 1 and Nier, and just never bringing up 2 at all. He also apparently made a Drakengard 2 manga just so he could kill most the characters or ruing their happy endings.
