Actually he can type real good and fucking fast as witnessed in his streams. I can understand he fucks up because its not his keyboard, happens to a lot of people when its not your keyboard.
You know, when Matt took a vacation, I was worried. But honestly? the age of Chewie and Fuckface is a golden one, full of great one-offs and better LPs. Good job guys
Lovemachine meh I miss Matt and Liam, Woolie has always been #4 to me Pat is the only reason I'm not shooting my brains out + his good ass streams. Matt is also streaming which helps.
cd.. is a way to get back to root, so he kinda had the right idea. He just didn't realize he only had one directory and was often in a command instead.
I wasn't aware that that was what I was referring to, but thanks for being bizarrely defensive about it for no reason? I was talking about how at the beginning he was saying shit like "whaaaao this is weird O_o" being weirded out by completely inconsequential things, reacting to basic gameplay conventions with confusion, and generally sounding like he was stoned out of his fucking gord for the entire length of the video. "I did it super good s-style. Who's the best hacker? Meeeeee."
These one-offs are starting to become like the "Adult Swim" of Best Friends. Don't ask me why I described it like that, I don't know, it just felt like it was the best possible description.
except for that feng shui episode that girls voice acting in the dub is bad and the episode doesn't go anywhere. Its cowboy bebops equivalent of gurren lagganns fourth.
Pat: that's ram Woolie: no that's clearly your video card He says about the object retrieved from a locker labeled "random access memory" lol Christ this means pat was right about something, weird
you know its a good video when its first puzzle of the game and woolie has to point out the big red circle on the book taking up half the screen to help pat XD
something tells me that people opened doors for longer than 3 seconds, like infinitely. and the devs were like Ho shit we gotta do something about this, and added the 3 second rule.
4Wilko That's exactly the kind of thinking you need to beat this game. Though the level design stops that particular trick from being a good idea in a lot of situations.
Waits don't work like that. All waits in the game look like they happen simultaneously. wait(3); command1; wait(4); command2 Command1 would happen after 3 seconds. Command2 would happen after 4 seconds. The time between command1 and command2 is only 1 second. Waits all start at the same time and only effect the things to the right of them. What I can't tell from the video is if they effect EVERYTHING to the right, or just the thing directly right. AKA Wait(10); command1; wait(1); command2 Command2 could either happen 10 seconds after code is run, or happen 1 second after code is run. I don't offhand remember if he wrote code like this so I can't tell. ---- And since the alarm goes off if its open more than 3 seconds, even if its from multiple code runs so you would have to do this: Open(3); wait(4); open(3): wait(8): open(3); wait(12) ect ect It would open for 3 seconds, close for 1, open for 3, over and over. --- I assume later they would add a loop function then you can just do ;;; While X=true{ loop{ wait(4); open(3) } } X=true ;;; ---
Connor Hill That's not at all how it works. Commands run one after the other sequentially. It just happens that all the commands they used, with the exception of "wait", finish immediately. If you wanted door2 to open just as door1 was closing, you'd type door1.open(3); wait(3); door2.open(3). If you wanted a 2 second interval between the doors closing and opening, you'd use wait(5).
The best part of this game is if you go to the official trailer, people are bashing it for it's art or the fact it looks like just another neat little indie game that only lasts for minutes and that it wouldn't come out. Well then. That was proven wrong.
Now Woolie gets to see how it feels to watch him play dark souls and we, the viewers, get to yet again see how bad pat is at thinking ahead. remember xcom 2.
"It's a game about hacking". And the first scene starts with a vinyl record being spun on a portable vinyl record player like an MP3 player. I guess I shouldn't have expected nothing less than a game sharing similarities to Gravity Bone and Thirty Flights of Loving.
Since interest in LISA: The Painful has resurfaced over the few weeks, so has my interest in seeing an LP for it on this channel. Even though Woolie's already beaten it I would still like to see them play it.
before i even saw the game i could tell by the title that this was made by blendo, they are so good and deserve exposure, people should check them out after the video
Pat's so close to navigating dos right in the early stages. He's just missing a few little concepts here and there and since it's dos he has no idea what he does wrong.
Can't wait to see the guys at Funhaus play this. Lawrence is going to freak his shit out if he hasn't seen or played this yet. Oh yeah, and I'm on board with everyone else-- did Pat just get absolutely shit-faced before recording this or something?
Funny thing is, you guys already had the solution to the 2 red boxes puzzle in the first place. The timer seems slightly faster than normal seconds though!
Not sure why people think Pat's inebriated in this video. Seems like how he usually acts when he's unacquainted with a new game and is struggling with material for commentary.
The reason why that delay wasn't working was because when you put in the wait for 5 seconds the timers the second the camera went off because the command to turn off the camera activated then the next command activated
We've had "Woolie can't read", but now we have evidence that Pat can't type.
The perfect team.
Actually he can type real good and fucking fast as witnessed in his streams. I can understand he fucks up because its not his keyboard, happens to a lot of people when its not your keyboard.
GreedAndSelfishness
The joke
Your head
Nimble Bolt Woolie also clearly still can't read, as repeatedly calls some RAM a video card, despite the label "random access memory"
"Woolie can't read"
7:30
You know, when Matt took a vacation, I was worried. But honestly? the age of Chewie and Fuckface is a golden one, full of great one-offs and better LPs. Good job guys
Lovemachine Same here.
Honestly wouldn't mind at all if Matt didn't bother to come back at all
don't tell matt tho
Lovemachine meh I miss Matt and Liam, Woolie has always been #4 to me Pat is the only reason I'm not shooting my brains out + his good ass streams. Matt is also streaming which helps.
Not come back to a channel he poured blood, sweat, and tears into? Yeah, awesome idea.
Pat, I don't think you actually know anything about DOS.
It's genuinely hard to tell if he was remembering commands wrong, or just hilariously unable to type what he wanted to.
cd.. is a way to get back to root, so he kinda had the right idea. He just didn't realize he only had one directory and was often in a command instead.
Nah, it was pretty easy to tell wiofn he stafiknt tp keb this.
it is back up one directory/folder
In a bit of historical context Plague found his first furry porn via a DOS prompt.
Pat has to be at least 7 drunk right now.
7 DRUNK PAT
I'm pretty sure Pat has some kind of specific puzzle based learning disability.
Which I guess is usually just called a learning disability...
/help
This post has been pinned by The Nightweaver.
Was Pat fucking high on Mushrooms during this video or something? Holy crap.
Not enough guns to satisfy his attention span.
yehh... this had the distinct feel of setting down a FisherPrice Playcenter in front of a giant Babby
That is an ALIEN....
randomfox Pat hates puzzles. Maybe you've figured out its because he is terrible at them.
Meeeeee."
Woolie's disappointment in Pat's play style is _tangible_.
These one-offs are starting to become like the "Adult Swim" of Best Friends.
Don't ask me why I described it like that, I don't know, it just felt like it was the best possible description.
Rohan Kishibe and 『Heaven's Door』 But what do you meeeean by that tho
MulTiLAy3rd Shhhhhh, just play along wit' it...
I can't wait for one of them to whisper, "It's free real estate," into our ears.
Time to look at Cowboy Bebop at his computer
*hack Cowboy Bebop for it's best episodes*
circular7 every episode of bebop is best episode.
except for that feng shui episode that girls voice acting in the dub is bad and the episode doesn't go anywhere. Its cowboy bebops equivalent of gurren lagganns fourth.
A couple of episode could have been better, and the wrap up of the last episode was awful.
Cowboy Bebop is my favorite character in the Yu Yu Hakushow.
Pat: that's ram
Woolie: no that's clearly your video card
He says about the object retrieved from a locker labeled "random access memory" lol Christ this means pat was right about something, weird
This channel is slowly becoming "watch the old people attempt to do a game."
Which is hilarious considering their all just hitting 30.
Joseph Belcher They're 80 at heart!
As Pat pulls the RAM out of the Random Access Memory shelf...
Woolie: nah that's a video card
I dunno, I just watch videos on the Internet to pass the time.
Porn tho
AfroMetalMizu shameless self promoting?
thelaughingrouge Hmm?
Porn and time travel is all machines are good for!
"Pass the time"
you know its a good video when its first puzzle of the game and woolie has to point out the big red circle on the book taking up half the screen to help pat XD
"Teletnet"
"Telenet"
"Telner"
Nailed it Pat.
Woolie does know 'Babushka' means 'Grandmother' in Russian, and isn't a piece of head wear, right?
Nope!
***** Yes. Is correct tru terminology. Thank you for sharing Gopnik knowledge my friend. You do deh motherland proud. Opah!
Don't tell em that man!
I like my wrongsayingns pure & original!
***** Ap pah pah! In Mother Russia, we say 'Zazdarovje', like true men!
You expect the Best Friends to know what they're talking about?
Today, on SBFP, Pat uses a keyboard for the first time.
I keep my quads in shape mang.
Just for this special occasion ya na'mean?
Word son, na'mean?
Na son, na'mean?
Is "gingers can't hack" going to be a thing now?
"THE INTERNET IS FOR PORN!"
This is bringing back 'Nam flashbacks of Sanic Dreams Collection....
Never forget the FDC.
The FDC never forgets you.
AfroMetalMizu media.giphy.com/media/Pa1i5LoF8Dvws/giphy.gif
how do you post a good comment only seconds after they posted the video?
Ho. Li. Shit.
Bringin back memories I should have never remembered
***** Pretty much ;P
Pat once again proving that it's possible to overthink a puzzle while simultaneously not thinking about it at all.
I've learned more about programming watching this than I did in nearly 4 years of college.
CrippledWeebTrash Ok then.
The only thing I know about programming that it is for *NERDS*
something tells me that people opened doors for longer than 3 seconds, like infinitely. and the devs were like Ho shit we gotta do something about this, and added the 3 second rule.
What's stopping people from doing open(3); wait(1); open(3) reapeating?
4Wilko That's exactly the kind of thinking you need to beat this game. Though the level design stops that particular trick from being a good idea in a lot of situations.
Waits don't work like that. All waits in the game look like they happen simultaneously.
wait(3); command1; wait(4); command2
Command1 would happen after 3 seconds.
Command2 would happen after 4 seconds.
The time between command1 and command2 is only 1 second. Waits all start at the same time and only effect the things to the right of them.
What I can't tell from the video is if they effect EVERYTHING to the right, or just the thing directly right.
AKA
Wait(10); command1; wait(1); command2
Command2 could either happen 10 seconds after code is run, or happen 1 second after code is run. I don't offhand remember if he wrote code like this so I can't tell.
----
And since the alarm goes off if its open more than 3 seconds, even if its from multiple code runs
so you would have to do this:
Open(3); wait(4); open(3): wait(8): open(3); wait(12)
ect ect
It would open for 3 seconds, close for 1, open for 3, over and over.
---
I assume later they would add a loop function then you can just do
;;;
While X=true{
loop{
wait(4); open(3)
}
}
X=true
;;;
---
I was thinking of separating with wait(4)s depending on how it's supposed to be executed. They didn't experiment a whole lot in this video.
Props to Pat for knowing DOS/Command Prompt commands
The best part of this game is if you go to the official trailer, people are bashing it for it's art or the fact it looks like just another neat little indie game that only lasts for minutes and that it wouldn't come out.
Well then. That was proven wrong.
Fuck I thought I accidentally clicked on one of my online learning videos for class when this started up.
Just throwing it out there, but Pat is the greatest member of this channel
I'll be damned, Woolie is a pretty decent teacher.
By the end of the month the "other two best friends" will be forever forgotten. The evil spell of Grandma Swamp is at work here.
Now Woolie gets to see how it feels to watch him play dark souls and we, the viewers, get to yet again see how bad pat is at thinking ahead. remember xcom 2.
Nothing like listening to two guys agree with each other.
Woolie: inability to be clear about what he means
Pat: inability to think logically
Woolie + Pat = T H I S
"I was camping out in the woods and my fire was hacked," is something I will never say.
i just came to see one thing.
"would pat forget his deck?"
I hear an echoing voice in the background:
"Best hacker in the world, big boss, big boss.. ♫♫"
Watch dogs wishes it could have actual hacking.
As a programmer in training, watching Pat fumble like this is both entertaining and INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING.
"It's a game about hacking".
And the first scene starts with a vinyl record being spun on a portable vinyl record player like an MP3 player. I guess I shouldn't have expected nothing less than a game sharing similarities to Gravity Bone and Thirty Flights of Loving.
"Why would you be able to pick up an item you're standing on?" Good thing this isn't built on the Gamebryo engine.
Since interest in LISA: The Painful has resurfaced over the few weeks, so has my interest in seeing an LP for it on this channel. Even though Woolie's already beaten it I would still like to see them play it.
The opening scene of this game is just further proof that Debussy's "Claire de Lune" will forever be the classiest piece of music ever made.
Woolie can't read. Pat can't type. The hypest videos on CZcams.
im shocked this wasnt the crew behind Jazzpunk.
OfficialChrissums 50 Flights of Loving and Gravity Bone predate Jazzpunk by a few years.
It's kinda cool seeing them play games that make you think. I thoroughly enjoyed Pat Learns Coding
This brought me back to my old TRS-80 and C64 days.
Quadrilaterals are shapes with four sides, like squares.
Ever since playing Evil Within I seem to hear Clair de Lune everywhere. I enjoy it though. It's nice.
Of all the puzzle games, Pat and Woolie's ineptitude on this one triggered me the hardest. Glad they gave it some attention though :)
Woolie is the WORST at guiding people through games.
Not as bad as Pat.
He did pretty good with Paige and Bloodborne.
They're _all_ really bad at that, and for different reasons.
Agent Texes Yeah no I think Woolie might be some kind of kryptonite to Pat that or Paige shares Pat's brain resulting in him being a better guide.
one step closer to understanding how Pat can't see or do puzzles.
I'd like to see Woolie do a solo play of this
Watching Pat fail miserably at typing stuff written on screen was the fucking best.
Washhogs 2 is looking good.
Why is Pat not being able to type so god damn amusing I could watch this for hours
9:40 FOR FUCKS SAKE PAT
TheCh33ks Its Dark Souls 3 all over again!!
All Pat knows is fighting an killing behind a computer screen anything else is beyond him.
I'm a professional software developer and this was very interesting to watch. Think like a programmer and shine on c:
Oh my god watching Pat use DOS is like watching Woolie play a 3D game
watch_dogs 2 dlc looks crazy
Pat can't do puzzle games, but he can do DOS? Did Pat accidently save us from Y2K?
before i even saw the game i could tell by the title that this was made by blendo, they are so good and deserve exposure, people should check them out after the video
Where's that Parasite Eve episode you accidentally posted early?
thelaughingrouge Is that true? I have not noticed
They posted part 4 Eve episode the same time as the Dark souls episode
They hid the eve episode rather quick, but I managed to watch it :D
cool
Hopit I got there in three minutes but I fucked up. Gotta go faster, man.
maybe if you force pat to play enough puzzle games he'll start to enjoy puzzles and finally be able to retcon those RE puzzle compilations
I can't hear that song at the beginning without thinking about fucked up shit happening in Car Boys anymore.
What a beautiful duwang
Black & Ginger is my favorite Black & Yellow remix
Pat's so close to navigating dos right in the early stages. He's just missing a few little concepts here and there and since it's dos he has no idea what he does wrong.
I love Pat's severe confusion at Wiz Khalifa lyrics.
I sure hope Woolie's at the controls
OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Brokeback Mountain 4: Quadrilateral Cowboy
Watching Matt navigate that console trying to put in dos commands was one of the most hilarious things I've see in weeks. Great video by the way
Can't wait to see the guys at Funhaus play this.
The opening music is inextricably tied to Car Boys for me now.
In before Pat loses his shit at a hacking & coding game...
"cd telnet.exe"
Yeah, because you totally want to change the active directory to an executable.
this is like that episode of eddsworld where they go
"cuz without edd (matt) it would just be me (woolie) and you (pat) and well.... that would suck."
I love how upset Pat got about the "Black and Ginger" song.
That music when the game starts makes me feel like I'm watching a water fountain :P
Damn, that evil within vibes with that piano, also.. .apagando las luces!!!
0:30 - It.... _sounded_ like one of the newscaster voices I can kinda recall from the 90's.
They really made this a lot harder than it actually was.
It's like watch dogs but with less pacemaker murder and actually interesting
Devon Palmer lol
Please push "Black and Ginger" until Matt comes back
Watch dogs 3 is looking good
32:48 - Oh, you mean like computer code, Pat? Complex like the computer you are actually physically using?
Yeah, I guess.
A whole video revolving around HA-KING! and not one Lordgenome or Supah Hackah reference....
I am disappoint.
Not sure why people think Pat's inebriated in this video. Seems like how he usually acts when he's unacquainted with a new game and is struggling with material for commentary.
So, for the prototype, it tells you what alarm number it is on the pressure panel so you can disarm.
We may be witnessing the world's first DOUBLE HACK
Hackin' with Debussy......Jesus Christ this is awesome
In this episode Pat jack's it again and again and Woolie put's something in his mouth.
WORDS! IT WAS WORDS YA FILTHY ANIMAL! - 5:01
Speedruns of this game must look amazing.
The dirty duo continues to impress.
We are finally quadrilateral cowboys!
I so want to see Pat play Gravity Bone and 30 Flights of Loving.
oh wow that opening tune is also the Save room music in EVIL WITHIN.
Oh sick I really liked what I saw of this game when Northern Lion (egg daddy) played it couple months back.
Man, that big ol circle is almost like a bonfire or something, all red and shit. Maybe if one of them had a laser pointer. lol
We really need to get Pat to play Typing of the Dead Overkill now
The reason why that delay wasn't working was because when you put in the wait for 5 seconds the timers the second the camera went off because the command to turn off the camera activated then the next command activated
I've only heard people talk about this and it seemed really complicated. Thank you for showing my lazy ass this super dope HACKING!
-Travis
You guys should play Portal one day.
