Noobie2k7 they felt the battles moved quick enough and enough was going on to keep the energy up throughout. Multiple people including Liam himself considered the game to be too slow paced and grindy for the sake of LP, they're the ones who have to deal with all the butthurt fans eventually so I don't blame them.
imlpz I also like the first season for nostalgia reasons, but I absolutely hated adventure season 2. Frontier had a few good moments, but it overall fell flat for me. Tamers started slow, but when the devas started showing up, I began to really like it and the whole D-reaper group of episodes was awesome.

Asagi Igawa Beelzemon was a cool guy. As far as how it links to the first 2 seasons and what is canon, early on in Tamers, the kids reference some of the kids and Digimon from the first 2 seasons. Takato even has an Agumon doll in his room. It is heavily implied that the first 2 seasons were also a show in the Tamers universe and Digimon was popular as a video game and card game as well. Also did goggles and glasses well before persona did as well. And fusions and evolving partners related to relationships and bonds. And vast colorful worlds you can reach by going into a screen. And even protagonists that can use many different Digimon instead of just one. And many many waifus that fanboys still fight over to this very day.....You know come to think of it Persona ripped Digimon right the fuck off!

You know what I fuckin want? A Pokemon mystery dungeon-esque digimon game. Not in the sense that you are a digimon, but in the sense that you get to choose from a wide selection of partners (the digimon) and get an actual developing storyline/friendship with them over the course of the game. Seeing how that concept of friendship was exactly what the original show was based off of, I for one would fucking love a game like that.
Digimon was always rad to me, because of the idea that our internet data usage and it's evolution had some sort of paracasual/dimensional effect that caused a whole cosmogeny to evolve and emerge due to a unforeseen butterfly effect in. I mean Digimon themselves are born from human ideas (both abstract and not) given digital form which becomes physical form. That and the fact humans created them indirectly (or directly depending on the version). I think that's always gonna be pretty cool even if it makes me sound like a crackpot.

I watched two minutes of this and Immediately set aside money to buy this, and went to watch the Digimon movie ,and summer wars. Now to binge and grin like an idiot Because my childhood has officially grown up with me. :3
I'd recommend watching the sub unedited version of at least Digimon: Our War Game, and maybe the other two digimon movies that were compiled with Our War Game to make Digimon the Movie
HA HA, TIME FOR CYBER SLUTS! Seriously, the girl designs in this game, lad... Been playing the FUCK out of this game the last week or so. Lots of fun. If you like RPGs, and you like the whole evolving aspect of gameplay, it's a great fix. Protip: If you're buying it now, you might want to go with the Vita version. It's $20 cheaper, and you get the pre-order DLC still even though the game's already out!
it is....possibly my goty for 2016 so far might get canned vy persona 5, but still....this game is worth every single buck and it has so much content for $39

There's just... so much to take in here. The world is telling me Summer Wars, the music is telling me Danganronpa, the UI is telling me Persona, and it's a Digimon game (which I didn't have much stake in aside from the movie that had "One Week" by Barenaked Ladies in it and that was my jam for a bit) but still damn.
Mamoru Hosoda is the guy behind the digimon movie and also summer wars,wolf children and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. The movie The Boy and the Beast is coming out here in America on march 4th.
You haven't played this game. There's some dark ass shit later in here. And remember, Tamers started with fucking Card Games and Original Digimon, Do Not Steal. You can't judge it from the starting point. But I agree with you that Terriermon is the sickest, but he's kinda' still B-list, cause Guilmon and Renamon are the Digimon of that season's Tai and Matt.

I am in love with this game. Its just like the DS games from a few years ago, absolutely love it. Wish this was a full LP but this will do, keep up the great work :)
This game is the fucking truth, It's got SMT fusions, Persona aesthetics, an old school turn based RPG combat system, with a Digimon coat of paint, and all compressed down to 2.5 gb, it's absolutely amazing.
I'm not saying that anyone who doesn't like Digimon is the worst person in the history of the entire world... but I am saying that they're in the top ten.
I wish that this isn't a one off. And to what Pat said when I first got my hands on this I had the same feeling. then Later on the game feels like Digimon X Persona 4 X Starforce Megaman. All of which was my childhood favs... My only gripes about the game is it starts kinda slow like most jrpg visual Novel like games, No Camara rotation (Only Zoom in/out), No full access to digivolution at all times like the Digimon DS games and the Evo tree is one big "Whos that Digimon you may or may not want."
+burpinator1 I can understand that they don't want to spoil every digivolution from the get go. Keep some stuff secret. Although even seeing a digimon you've never seen before helps. Plus, for old fans like myself I already knew a good chunk of what the digivolutions are. Either because they are canon to the show (I know how to get Paildramon) or I can tell what some digimon were by their silhouettes.
RippahRooJizah The problem with me is figuring out which silhouette is which since some of them are so dam vague. Unless you look up the evo line then you are gonna be spending some time doing guess work finding your desired digimon. Using the nostalgia can help but in this game all the digimon's evo lines are super mixed and all over the place. Like Beelzemon for example. In the show we only saw his Rookie Form then it skipped to Mega so you gotta guess from Impmon which evos will get you the right path. (Which is Wizardmon -> SkullMeramon -> Beelzemon Or go through the Infermon line till you get to Infermon and then to Beelzemon.
+burpinator1 This is just me, but I just kinda went with the flow. I didn't look up how to get specific digimon until late in the game. Although, yeah, some of the lines are weird. But due to my knowledge I was less frustrated than someone with less knowledge.

But you are also talking to a person that loves to plan Pokemon Teams before next game releases. Like say they announce Gen 7. Once all the mons are out and got the info I will build my team asp. Im not used to going blind in games since I usually research every aspect of a game before I play them. But I wanted to do digimon blind since it was a childhood game. (But OCD me wanted to see the "How to get my fav digimon evo lines.") Past Digimon knowledge is good and all but then there is this game where Mamemon can digivolve into WarGreymon :3

+Cass Pratt I played through most of the game on Hard but when I fought Adam Eater I had to kick it down to Normal. I then put it back on Hard and fought one of the side bosses and then turned it back down to normal.
This game coming over really is a feel good story. It's just such a gift for fans of digimon growing up. Get to assemble so many of your favorite digimon and just go on this adventure. Been enjoying the hell out of it.

+andreja kuzmanovic It didn';t help that they were originally three different specials that the dub tried to connect together, even though they originally had little to do with each other. The good parts you are probably thinking are the first two specials, the first one which dealt with Tai's first experience with Digimon, and the second one which has Diaboromon and Omnimon.
I highly recommend watching "Digimon Adventure Movie" "digimon our war game" and "digimon hurricane touchdown" because they're waaaaaaay better than digimon the movie. The three movies were never dubbed so you'll know if you're watching "digimon adventure movie" vs "digimon the movie" the later only exists dubbed.

Been playing the FUCK out of this game the last week or so. Lots of fun. If you like RPGs, and you like the whole evolving aspect of gameplay, it's a great fix.
Protip: If you're buying it now, you might want to go with the Vita version. It's $20 cheaper, and you get the pre-order DLC still even though the game's already out!

This game is the fucking truth, It's got SMT fusions, Persona aesthetics, an old school turn based RPG combat system, with a Digimon coat of paint, and all compressed down to 2.5 gb, it's absolutely amazing.
I'm not saying that anyone who doesn't like Digimon is the worst person in the history of the entire world... but I am saying that they're in the top ten.
I wish that this isn't a one off. And to what Pat said when I first got my hands on this I had the same feeling. then Later on the game feels like Digimon X Persona 4 X Starforce Megaman. All of which was my childhood favs... My only gripes about the game is it starts kinda slow like most jrpg visual Novel like games, No Camara rotation (Only Zoom in/out), No full access to digivolution at all times like the Digimon DS games and the Evo tree is one big "Whos that Digimon you may or may not want."
+burpinator1 I can understand that they don't want to spoil every digivolution from the get go. Keep some stuff secret. Although even seeing a digimon you've never seen before helps.
Plus, for old fans like myself I already knew a good chunk of what the digivolutions are. Either because they are canon to the show (I know how to get Paildramon) or I can tell what some digimon were by their silhouettes.
RippahRooJizah The problem with me is figuring out which silhouette is which since some of them are so dam vague. Unless you look up the evo line then you are gonna be spending some time doing guess work finding your desired digimon. Using the nostalgia can help but in this game all the digimon's evo lines are super mixed and all over the place. Like Beelzemon for example. In the show we only saw his Rookie Form then it skipped to Mega so you gotta guess from Impmon which evos will get you the right path. (Which is Wizardmon -> SkullMeramon -> Beelzemon Or go through the Infermon line till you get to Infermon and then to Beelzemon.

But you are also talking to a person that loves to plan Pokemon Teams before next game releases. Like say they announce Gen 7. Once all the mons are out and got the info I will build my team asp. Im not used to going blind in games since I usually research every aspect of a game before I play them. But I wanted to do digimon blind since it was a childhood game. (But OCD me wanted to see the "How to get my fav digimon evo lines.")

The good parts you are probably thinking are the first two specials, the first one which dealt with Tai's first experience with Digimon, and the second one which has Diaboromon and Omnimon.

I highly recommend watching "Digimon Adventure Movie" "digimon our war game" and "digimon hurricane touchdown" because they're waaaaaaay better than digimon the movie. The three movies were never dubbed so you'll know if you're watching "digimon adventure movie" vs "digimon the movie" the later only exists dubbed.

That first enemy was one of the forms of the villain digimon in the first movie. Ghost kid had one of the Darkmasters as his digimon.
