Hi Steve, I have a video showing it did not work it did look good but did not hold up started coming off after one trip, but I use it in salt marsh with lots of oryster beds and rough landing area.
Wow Rick.......you don't mess around, do ya....lol. That's lookin' really good. When you said that 60 grit sandpaper didn't put a mark on it by hand sanding, I was really impressed. That Hurculiner just might do the trick. Gonna stay tuned & hoping for the best. But like I said earlier, even if it does develop some scratches that take longer to appear vs the bare hull.......I imagine touching it up would be a whole lot better protection than nothing at all. GOOD LUCK!!!..........Steve.....
NICE work. This appears to be a great idea. I’m looking to protect the bottom of my Twin Troller and this just might do the trick. Please keep us informed.
looks like the real deal to me and i will be keeping track on how it holds up. i have commercial type in my truck for like 2 years now and it is great, but no contact with oyster beds :-) ..........good pullage next spin with the troller - see you standing by........
Rick, I am very impressed. That looks great. I am surprised how your gator patch did not hold up. Mine is doing fine but I do not grind it into a tough of a bottom as you have in your area. I hope your Herculiner works well for you. Please keep us updated to know how well it works. Gerry
Gerry,I also was surprised at the gator patch,I will know after this next week how this liner works but it is calling for rain this week so may not be able to go every day I will post a short vid. on it.Rick
Hey Rick......I got so excited about the Hurculiner.......I forgot to tell ya what a beautiful boat that is, that you built. I bet that thing is really sharp when it's cleaned up. Like the name too: "the Cedar 2 Seater"........Good job on that build, really. .....Steve...
Hi Steve, I built it just for the fun of it and it turned out great since I had no plans to go by built it on the fly.I am fixing to hook up now and head to the marsh 52 deg. wind 10 gust to 20 should be fun! I'll see how the liner works today low tide at noon.
@@mrtilley66 I hope you at least have some protected areas from getting the full run of wind gusting to 20. Man, that can get brutal. Where I fish on the Stick Marsh, it's a 6.5 mile run to get to the best fishing in the south end. 15 to 20+ mph winds get a running go down there with no barriers to break it up, and it's downright dangerous. When that happens, I stick to areas that are somewhat protected from all that wind. I've been caught up in it a few times, thanks to wind forecasts that were way wrong. Talk about a white knuckle ride getting back. It blows out the fishing down here anyway. Muddy water, and it gets like a giant washing machine down there. I occasionally see guys now & then who don't know this place, and they'll take off down there anyway in their bass boats. They ain't down there 10 minutes, and I can hear the waves slapping their hull from 4 miles away, as they're retreating & heading back, lol. Not good. Be careful out there.
@@howabouthetruth2157 Yea Steve, I went to the jetties today a wide area it got bad I was only there a few min. I filmed it if it comes out I have not looked at the vid yet I did catch 20 trout and one flounder.
@@mrtilley66 Hey, that's a heck of a lot more fish than I've caught in the past 2 weeks, let alone a single day, lol. But our big bass season should be firing up here within a few weeks. Man, I can hardly wait. Hoping that we have a much milder winter than last year. Last season started out great ( late November through April ) and all of December was fantastic. Catching lots of bass between 5 and 9.5 lbs. Caught the 9.5 on a large wild shiner, and only 15 minutes later, caught an 8.5 on a grass jig. Talk about the best of both worlds. But it all went to hell come January. The back to back cold fronts ruined the rest of the season with high north winds that never let up. One front would pass through, and before the water could clean up, here come another front. They sent all of those pro anglers down here for that "Major League Fishing" tournament deal. Bad move, lol. It was terrible.
Hey Rick I found A product it’s a bedliner and it is called raptor Bedliner you can do it yourself I’m going to get it but I got a wait for warmer weather right now up here in Illinois it’s like 20° i’m going to have to wait probably around April or May I only need one bottle or two and it be around $60 and you can turn it any color you want but it’s like $17 for that color that’s a lot cheaper than $600
Well Rick I went to line X in Belleville Illinois talk to the guy they want $600 to spray the pontoons and that’s a quarter inch thick so I’m debating what to do
Well Rick I’m going to line X tomorrow I’m having my all of my boat sprayed with line X I want to see if they can camouflage if they do I’ll send you pictures . you got nice weather where you live at it’s 10° up here in Illinois
Well dout that will stick to plastic very well. As much as you paid for that thing you would think it would stand up to more abuse. Glad I didn't get one, but as to the fix on this deal get you a fab shop to weld you up a skid simular to the one over motors that runs the full length of pontoons out of aluminum, problem solved. Don't know if the ones on now or bolted to some kind of bushing in the plastic if thay are fab the new ones to just replace those to bolt on in same bushings, being aluminum no corrosion and not much weight.
Hi Shawn, the boat is holding up great so far, glad I got it I fish almost every day.The liner did not hold up but it was a cheep try I have a hobie outback I have used for 3 yr. it has the same scratches on it.The metal liner would work but my 16ft.alm. john boat has scrathes in it also so it is no big deal.
That stuff isn't going to stick to that plastic. It's made for metal. Might stick to pavement, but not that plastic. Even paint is difficult on that stuff, & that's with chemical surface prep, appropriate paint and a flex agent.
Hi J Tee, I knew it was not going to be a good the best fix but it was a cheap try and some of the liner is still on the bottom, it did look good though.LOL
Thank you for sharing this Video of what to put on The bottom of our twin troller x10. I’m going out tomorrow and buy a quarter of it

Hi Scooter, it did not hold up on mine but I have to beach mine on gravel oyster bed landing it is not paved just a point in the salt marsh.

Ok it’s been a while now so what’s your opinion on the stuff is it tough enough etc or a waste of money and time. It looks good though.
Thanks
Hi Mike, no it did not last at all don't waste your money, it did look good for about a week.
@@mrtilley66 yeah I saw the comments where you told others it didn’t work after I wrote it.
Thanks for the reply
Well Rick I went to line X in Belleville Illinois talk to the guy they want $600 to spray the pontoons and that’s a quarter inch thick so I’m debating what to do
Hi Steve, I think I would save my $600 the boat will hold up to a lot of tuff landings.
Well Rick I thought about it and think I’m gonna go ahead and have my twin troller X 10 sprayed with LINE X I think it would be a good investment
I CANT FIND THAT VIDEO WHERE THE HERCULINER CAME OFF
Hi Steve, the vid . is called X10 Bed liner fail, posted on 11-6-18 it is still pealing off what little is left.

Hi Steve, I have put line X in my last 3 pickup beds it's good stuff,it's way to cold up north for me i'll stay down south.
Do you think it’ll hold up on freshwater
Hi Steve, it may hold up just don't bump anything.
Next time go with a product called cold tar made by Sherwin Williams two parts y and z get harder than a wedding 🍰
