- Half day out Nymphing With Ryan Gourley and managed to hook into a BIG River Clyde brown trout which weighed at 5.1lb. Wind was horrible today so was using a bobber to help with drifts and the wind was dragging the euro leader through runs so wasn't suitable today. Was caught on a olive Scruffy, Ryan also hooked a mixture of grayling and trout also.
Well done for putting it back! Many would have “taken” it. Hats off ! True gents!
Thanks for your kind comment, always C&R for me hopefully someone else gets that feeling i got when landing this cracking fish :-)

@@FishingAdventuresScotland just wondering I'm new to fly fishing why are you letting line out or pulling it out every so often?
@@baldeysadventures963 sometimes i dont trust the drag system in reels so every so often I will just pull a little bit out to make sure it hasn't stuck cause if it sticks and the big fish runs I will have potential to snap the line as I mainly fish with 4lb mono
@@FishingAdventuresScotland thankyou do you also do this with spinning rods and reels
@@FishingAdventuresScotland is there any chance you could do a video on how to fly fish for beginners?
thats a great trout well done mate and fair play for putting it back cracking fish

Its upper clyde around abington area
@@FishingAdventuresScotland thanks alot
Nice fish man but never 5 lol I'd give it 2.5 to 3 max... In the Netherton area I usually feed maggots with a swimfeeder and no hook obviously for a few days on the trot then fish the run with size 10 chadwick type nymphs on a 6 weight, had them to 9.5... Still chasing that double...
Thanks bud fish was cracking bud I used scales buddy to weigh it thats why i had put 5.1lb good luck on double that would be a fush of a lifetime
Agree..Ive been lucky enough to catch a couple above 5lbs - they wouldnt have fitted in that net...not dissing that fine fish though...no shot of it being weighed?
A Fine Trout
Thanks robert
