Helping Your Baby Move from Sitting Position into Crawling Position

- When babies transition from sitting to crawling, ideally you want them to use a side sit and then transition to their hands and knees. Often times babies will lung forward over their hips to move into crawling position. In this video our Physical Therapist will show you how to help guide your baby to their side and then onto their hands and knees and then back again into the sitting position.

Are you familiar with the works of Dr Emmi Pikler. She explains how this will occur naturally if babies are just left alone and given the space to do so. I'm curious to know why a baby would need this kind of intervention
When a baby is struggling with crossing the midline, this transition does not come naturally or easily, and so being shown how to do it helps alot.
I'm 9 months late to the party but I chose to teach my baby myself because in her eagerness she kept hitting her head when trying to transition from crawling to sitting but failing midway. So I chose some help instead of potential head trauma (and she learned the trick in a few tries as she had the necessary strength, she just hadn't figured out how to do it yet).
Thats natural for normal babies. But some babies have delays and conditions.
Sole babies need a bit more assistance, and that's okay. It doesn't come as naturally to everyone.
