ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
In this video you will learn how to assist your baby in achieving the developmental milestone of crawling. Learn the 5 activities you can do to help your baby be well on the way to crawling independently. Also become aware of the 6 different variations in how a baby might crawl, as not all babies do the classic hands and knees crawl.
My 08 month old boy is crawling forward, perfectly!!
Before this, he was crawling backwards when i asked for your support!
One day i decided aligne his position (hips and knees) as you taught and voila...he instantaneously learned! It was wonderful for me and my wife!! I would like to thank you for your excelent job in this channel!! Greetings from Brazil, doc!!!
Thank you for your feedback! It’s great to hear the results you were able to get from implementing the recommendations.
Funniest babysitting gig I ever had was when the parent called exactly when 1 twin was in the middle of a bottle and the other had scooted backward and was “stuck” under a chair. Both were crying in the background as I tried to reassure mom that both were fine.
Im so glad I found this channel! My baby has been so frustrated lately and I can tell she wants to get moving! She’s pre commando right now
Omg i thought my son wasnt crawling AT ALL at 11 months but he is doing the commando and rolls around to get where he wants to go! 😂 who knew that was crawling! Thank you! I was starting to freak out
Good to know the different crawling styles! Thank you!
My pleasure! Thank you for your feedback.
Thank you
Thanks for your helpful insights once again!
My pleasure Mark!
My 6 and half baby is moving forward dragging her legs and pushing up her upper body😊
Great info for our baby, thank you!
My pleasure David!
At 3:30, the video clip is better when we can watch longer to practice. We need time to watch where our (parents/therapists) need to place hands. It always great to see examples. I pass along videos to show families from many different cultures. Thanks! Pediatric occupational therapist in VA.
Christine thank you for your feedback. I will try to keep this in mind for future videos.
Excellent thank you
My pleasure! Thank you for watching.
This is good information. Thank you, Dr. But, I would really like to see more examples of the different types of crawls. It helps to actually see the crawls in motion. This also helps for visual learners.
Thank you 👍👍
My pleasure. Thank you for your feedback.
Very helpful tips! Thank you! Will definitely put those into practice!
My pleasure Andrei! Thank you for the feedback.
Thanks for the video....got to know about different crawling styles....my baby was actually doing rolling crawl...and I was actually worried thinking she is not crawling yet
My pleasure Blessy. Thank you for your feedback!
Same here I was a little worried, thanks for the info. Does the baby transition from rolling crawl to a different crawling style or just straight to walking?
My baby does the walking dead crawl where he keeps his upper body on the floor and pushes himself around on his knees while reaching for whatever he's trying to get 🤣
Ashley that’s great he has found a way to get around that works for him.
My baby soon going to be 7 months he can now stand on knees and hands hopefully he'll learn soon
Very helpful
Thank you for watching and leaving feedback!
Really helpful
Thank you for your feedback!
Great video. My baby has been army crawling for 2 months and I am trying to help him crawl on hands and knees. But he refuses to stay in the all fours position, he will kick his legs straight and go on his tummy right away. And it's hard to even get him into all fours, he seems to fight it and wouldn't bend his knees. Any suggestions? Thank you.
My baby does a different/combo crawl where she gets into a plank position, then pushes her feet and hands off the ground to "jump" forward and lands on her belly LOL. I guess its a combination of the belly crawl and bear crawl with a jump added? It looks a bit dramatic, almost like shes trying to swim using the "butterfly stroke", but on land lol
Thank you for watching this video, and sharing about your baby's crawling style. I bet it's amusing to watch.
Thanks for your videos, I really need to see your videos to control my worries 😟.
My 11 months is army crawls. Just wondering is she going to crawl the classic crawl or gonna go to walking.
Thank you for watching this video. Not all babies will do the classic hands and knees crawl. If your baby does the army crawl, then she's crawling. You can try to do activities as I suggest in the video to try to encourage your baby to learn to do the classic crawl. However, I would not worry at all if your baby doesn't master it but goes on to start walking instead.
My 9 month baby doesn't crawl.but he rolls up and push himself by belly. suggest me plzzzz what cn i do
My baby is able to support herself she started to roll really early. She is doing every type of crawling than the traditional. And she is already grabbing on stuff to stand up.
Thank you for watching this video, and sharing about your baby's crawling styles.
My baby is 12 month he is not crawling should i be worried
Please answer me 🙏
My baby is 7 month old. He is doing commando crawling and also some time crawls backward instead of forward crawling. Is this ok and what can i do?
Yes it's ok that your baby is crawling differently than the traditional hands-and-knees crawl. Continue to put items in front of your baby that would motivate the baby to crawl forward towards them. Thank you for watching.
Will crawling in the different styles affect muscle or hip development? For example… crawling with one foot on one leg and knee on the other leg. (Asymmetrical) Versus the classic crawling position (symmetrical)?
Crawling using the different styles will have the baby using some muscles more than others. However once they start walking, it all tends to balance out. Therefore it should not be a problem for the baby.
My baby does the same.hope it's fine
@@fabihussain7779 yes some babies make this type of modification to their crawling, and it's okay.
My baby ha a not crawl at one year and one month I'm worryed what should I do
Thank you for watching the video. Some babies skip crawling all together and go right to walking. Speak with your child’s healthcare provider to check if the baby is keeping up with the other age appropriate developmental milestones.
I just subscribed ☺️
Thank you for watching and subscribing!
Great advice I'm going to do this tomorrow.
Abby thank you for your feedback.
Does you have easy way it's difficult for me.
@@abbyxiong1917 Start off by letting your baby push off of your hand while lying on the tummy to move forward a little at a time. Also continue to practice the activities I mention in this video. At first it will be hard to do some of these them, but with practice you and your baby will get better at them. It’s a gradual process for them to learn to crawl. Just giving your baby a lot of play time on the floor and doing tummy time will go a long way in helping your child learn to crawl.
My baby does the inchworm! The 7th style of crawling. Should I be concerned?
The great news is that your baby is making attempts to crawl. I wouldn't be concerned, but would do activities, such as ones I mention in this video, to guide your baby along.
Is army crawling considered crawling should I be worried she is 11 months nearly a year old
Thank you for watching this video. Yes the army crawl is considered crawling. Not all babies do the classic hands and knees crawl, and that's okay.
Hi Mam, my baby is in her 7 th month....and sits comfortably with support of pillows around her. But without support she can't sit on her own on floor. Is this ok at 7 months? Because babies sit at 6 months.
Now since she is still not sitting on her own, she isn't crawling yet. I am worried.
We put her on Mat on the floor and she tries
Thank you for seeking my input. All babies have their own unique timeline of achieving the developmental milestones, like sitting and crawling. The month marks I mention are just the average. There are babies who will start doing it later, but their development is still normal. It's great to hear that your baby is able to sit, even if it's with support of pillows. Keep giving her time playing on the floor, and try the different activities mentioned in the video.
@@friendlykiddoc8796 Thank you mam for your reply 🙏
My baby crawls with her tummy on the ground. She's 9mo, 8mo adjusted. Is this normal?
Yes that is a normal version of crawling that some babies do.
Hello...Thank You so much. My baby is 7months; she hates tummy time and doesn't want to crawl at all. PLEASE HELP
Tummy time and crawling are not easy for babies. Therefore it's not surprising that some of them are resistant to doing them. Do what you can on your part to encourage your child to spend time several times a day on her tummy. Choose one or two of the activities that I suggest in this video, that you think your baby will tolerate doing the most, and consistently practice them with her.
Same here .my boy 8m old .he hates tummy time and started crying when he is fliping . Plz help me.
My baby is 11 month and she does the commando crawl backwards. She does not like to be on tummy. Starts crying. She has used walker for a longer time. How can I help her and encourage her. Toys do not seem to help.
My baby is 10 months and she is still not getting onto her hands and knees. I’ve given her decent amount of tummy time. She sits, rolls forwards and backwards while lying down. But will not get on her hands and knees. Should I be worried?
We are the same. My daughter just turned 10 months and isn’t crawling. She’s trying to get on her knees but keeps one leg under her. I’m wondering if I should be worried.
It sounds like your baby is developing well from what you mention. There is no need to worry about the crawling. All babies develop on their own timeline. The ages I mention are just averages for when babies master the particular developmental milestone. Also not all babies do the traditional hands-and-knee crawling style, and that's ok.
My baby does commando crawl as of now 😂
My baby is 1 year 2 month and she doesn't crawl till now
All babies develop at their own individual pace. It's wonderful to hear that your baby has figured out how to crawl now.
When she starts crawling I want to because my son is 12 months Old but still he is not crawling accepted army crawl maybe I am little worried about him but he is stand up with object support and take few steps without support.
How old should you start doing this ? My daughter is going to be 5 months.
Thank you for watching this video. If your baby is doing well with tummy time and able to support her upper body on her arms, you can start doing some of the initial exercises at 5 months. Some babies start to crawl as early as 6 months, but some not until 11 months. It depends on how your baby is progressing with her motor development.
lol my kid freaks out and refuses. shes not trying to go anywhere any time soon.
Thank you for watching this video. Each child develops at an individual pace. Keeping offering your baby plenty of play time on the floor, and when she's ready, she will start making attempts.
My baby is 9months old, but she crawl backwards. Its normal????
Yes it’s normal.
Thanks! 😊
I think my baby does everything except the traditional crawl and the bear crawl. She is surprisingly quick
Thank you for watching this video. Sounds like your baby is doing very well with crawling. Not all babies do the traditional crawl, and that's okay.
Didn’t know all those crawling styles.
Most parents are not aware that there are several variations to crawling. I've had parents voice concerns that their baby was not crawling, but in fact the baby was, just using one of the other crawling styles.
Oh yeah, I for sure taught my baby to crawl. I did not want her to do the weird scooting thing!! No!
Thank you for your instructions. As a native English speaker the use of pronouns can be confusing. The video jumps from He to she. This is OK, but you could use more gender neutral terms such as "them", "their", "they", "they're". I would like to see more examples. Never the less I feel your videos and advice are good and I have decided to subscribe as such. Thanks again.
Our baby is 5 months old. She is OK at holding yuo her head and can readily roll over on to her front. (Needs work on rolling back on to her back She does not yet prop herself up in her knees. What excerises can we do to encourage her to get on "all fours"? Thanks
Thank you for your feedback.
Most baby's aren't strong enough to get on all fours on their own until after 6 months. As demonstrated in this video, you may try placing your hands under her knees and guiding the legs into a position of being bent at the hips and knees, while she holds her upper body up with her arms. If she still needs help supporting the upper body, place one hand under her to hold her upper body up and with the other hand guide both legs into a bent position. Initially she may only be able to stay in the position for several seconds. But with practice, the muscles will get stronger, and she will start getting onto all fours on her own.
I have a separate video that talks about how to teach a baby to roll over in both directions. If you want to check it out, it's at this link: czcams.com/video/C6T_wFXf4nQ/video.html
@@friendlykiddoc8796 Thanks. I watched that but the front to back was not as clear. Back to front was. Thanks
