I remember going to Edinburgh many years ago and asking for a full English at the hotel breakfast table. A very nice, yet knowledgeable lady put her pen and note pad down, instantly got my attention and funnily but with force informed me that this was a Full Scottish breakfast. The addition of haggis, a tatty scone and square sausage was great and one of the best I've had.

The flat sausage is called a Lorne sausage. It's named after a piece of thick leather that my ancestors wore under their kilts, to protect the John Thomas and Conkers from being bitten by sneaky Haggis's that would hide in the heather as they went on their morning stroll around the mountains. The Haggis would jump up under their kilts and grab right onto the dangly parts. The leather square would protect it and they also covered in in drawing pins, facing away from the skin so it taught the cheeky Haggis to not do it again. True story....

Always go to scotch corner when over on tenerife ( we stay just down the hill) and never had a bad one there. Lovely place, lovely staff and excellent food.

If your north of the border again please dont call a square sausage (lorne sausage) a flat sausage. Tip for you create a dirty roll with haggis square sausage and a tattie scone great hang over cure.

Obviously they have no connection with Scotland at all or the square sausage would have been called its true name of Lorne sausage 🤔

Shame there were no shrooms but prefer the Scottish version over our English as Tattie scones so much better than our controversial hash browns.

Parts of the North of England were part of Scotland back in the day. And there are no beans on an official Scottish Breakfast; Scots refer to the flat sausage as a square slice.
Used Scotch Corner a few times when the previous owners had it. Fantastic Breakfasts in there. Last time but one when we were over there it was closed. When we were over last March it was back open with new owners who had also extended into the bar next door. Never tried the breakfasts in there though We either used Thirsty Turtle just round the corner from there, or the Turf Yard next to Bar Fresh, which has now closed down unfortunately.

Nice flat and normal sausage, tatties scone (potato cake to me), nice eggs beans and toast. Would have done without the black pudding 🤮 but that’s me. Nice to see Tim on his walkabout too. The breakfast looked not bad. As Scottish, the Lorne Sausage aka square looked catering and to get a good meaty square come to Scotland.

When i was a kid growing up near Edinburgh some butchers used to do a round sausage which is just like the Lorne.

Next time you’re up here in Scotland try a steak lorne sausage, not much more expensive but better meat.

I guess you liked the square sausage better because they are mainly made from beef . Tattie scone looked slightly under but still excellent . As for the poodles Willy , just remember you are on a Canary Island .
Lorne sausage and Tattie scones, some Irish cafes would cert do the same that is where i had both items for the first time, they add white pudding same as Scotland also mmmmmmmmmm real nice, was half way across to castle bar when i had my first Irish breaky. why do they give the sausage with Lorne slice though, that is sausage meat also, you got a real winner there lee with that eggy toast, a lot of Irish cafes use chipolatas but that is a sausage.
Used to visit a bar called "The Pub" in las Americas. Was owned by a bloke from worksop. Good times.

Had my eye on a bowl of honey nut cornflakes but just taken the bacon, sausages and black pudding etc out the freezer ready for Sunday morning !

I was there last week with two mates, if you haven't already try the skillet breakfast at the ginger pig over the road, really really good, 3 of us enjoyed it so much we went back for the same. We stayed at the Royal sunset beach club. Missing the sun.

Looked really nice to me. I’d go 9/10. Is the microwave issue just because of the wind blowing directly into it. The wind shield isn’t working properly. Anyway it didn’t really detract. I hear a lot of channels with the same issue. Nice one

A Scottish breakfast is fried eggs potatoe scone black pudding haggis bacon Lorne sausage (square) beans tinned tomatoes fried bread toast and a mug of tea I would give that 6.

Sorry Lee but as much as I love tener ife we had a very bad experience at the scotch corner . Staff were not friendly and had no draft beer . I always like to visit places that you vlog but tbh I will not go there again
It did look good, though. It probably cost more to scramble an egg as they need to add milk and butter in order to scramble, but don't really know, but that's how I scramble my eggs. Yes an 8.5 is very fair.

My good lady is Scottish. Let me tell you, you can't beat square sausage in a home made pot of Stovies. Nothing like a slice of square sausage in a roll with onions, oh, and don't forget the brown sauce. Where was the Haggis by the way? Should have been an Aberdeen Angus steak sausage not a poodle willy, but the place is nothing to do with Scotland is it. Controversial. Cant beat a good Scottish breakfast. All the best to you both.
