sonic 2 rescue tails is not sega is a fan game
this fangame has the purpose of entertaining sonic fans
all this happens after sonic defeats doctor eggman in his space base sonic once again has saved the island but it seems that eggman has fallen in emerald hill zone sonic and tails go to see what happened to eggman but suddenly eggman hands them a plot causing sonic to get hurt suddenly eggman grabs tails and takes him away sonic will have to save his best friend from the clutches of doctor eggman...

we got sonic 1 SMS 16-bit, sonic triple trouble 16-bit, abd now we finally have sonic 2 SMS 16-bit wow fan games are getting better, also nice video!
The levels could have used some redesign to accommodate the more modern physics and higher speeds, i noticed some additions but they didn't address the flow of the stages, also i don't understand why people base their Sonic 2 remakes on the GG version rather than the vastly superior SMS version, starting on Green Hills just makes more sense for a Sonic game anyway.
I appreciate the effort he put into this though, there are some interesting ideas in terms of story.
The Master System version and the Game Gear version of Sonic 2 are the same.

Definitely has potential, but needs some work to make it on the same level as Sonic Triple Trouble 16 Bit. We can only hope that whoever is working on this fangame can make it even better.
1:05 Actually, Sonic 2 8-bit was released before Sonic 2 16-bit, so if Sonic 2 16-bit had a little flashback from Sonic 2 8-bit, that would be much cooler.
Actually, this is one time I think release order doesn't matter. Sonic meets Tails during the events of Sonic 2 16-bit. Meanwhile in Sonic 2 8-bit they already know each other. Therefore Sonic 2 8-bit must be happening after the 16-bit Sonic 2, and that fan game got it pretty spot on.

In the Japanese manual of sonic 2 on the sms it is stated to take place after egg man is defeated on south island (so sonic 1) however it’s also stated that tails meets sonic in west side island first , so

My biggest gripe is that this game uses the two-act structure when sonic 2 on the game gear uses the 3-act structure so bosses won’t have rings. That’s the most notorious aspect of the game and should be kept in imho.
Now we need a sonic 1 SMS/GG 16-bit remake and we have Sonic 1 and 2 and TT the best GG games

The sonic 2 16 bit remake looks like the 8bit so cool.
This game has a lot of bugs and glitches, like those in Emerald Hill Zone in the video already.
While, yes, this is looks unpolished and shoddy, Especially with that collision screw up in emerald hill. This has a ton of potential and i genuinely hope it gets more updates.

There’s a few inconsistencies. If you’re curled into a ball, falling stalactites shouldn’t damage Sonic. The fireball projectiles from the lava and the walking speed of the duotone crabmeats area a tad too quick. Some events are a little too quick to begin. Some of the mine carts have some bs exit point, but then again, I might just be misremembering. I will say I prefer this version giving you rings before a boss. I never got past the underground zone boss in the original.
My only complain is the lack of hang gliding of the second zone. 😢

Técnicamente sí ocurre después de Sonic 2 de 16 bits, pero canónicamente fue varios meses después del final verdadero y además ocurre en la locación del primer juego, la Isla del Sur, aquí es todo lo contrario, empieza en Esmerald Hill cuando está se ubica en una isla diferente al del primer Sonic...
Es claro que malinterpretaron un poco la historia

¿Qué lo apoya? El hecho de que ya conoce a Tails cuando el propio Sonic Origins dice (en una de sus escenas) que no se conocieron hasta que Sonic lo salvo de unos matones durante su primera etapa en Esmerald Hill para detener a Robotnik
