Thank you so so much for the fantastic explanation. You described this so well and much better than our current doctor. Thank you again for preparing our expectations and helping to reduce crazy high stress and anxiety in our family ❤️

I looked this up because of my kids brother being born with this. His mother says that nobody has any idea why this happens. She smoked cigarettes, did drugs, drank, and only ate McDonald’s while pregnant. We were always given lengths of time that he would live. First it was that babies with this don’t live past 6 months, and then 1 year, and on, and on. Her Aunt has mostly cared for him most of his life. I believe she recognized that he was hospitalized within 2-3 days any time he was in his mothers care. He cried nonstop when he was with his mother. My heart broke for him when I seen how he was treated as a burden to her. I wish I had taken precautions to protect our children more.

Wow, my story is almost similar. I’m 31 & was born with gastroschisis, although never confirmed I’m sure my mother did drugs while pregnant with me. I was in the hospital for several months & my aunt raised me as well ❤

Have you ever had a baby grow into an adult and have complications due to the surgery? Maybe the way it was placed back in.

Iola Kansas or wherever that's what I was born with gastroschisis but also with other organs out yes we still get sick a lot as we get older and have to have quite a bit of surgeries also as well as like hernia surgeries and mesh feeding tubes and everything else. I don't know why on Earth anybody would ever think that if you're born that way you don't get sick I get sick quite a bit I can't help that and I love the doctors and nurses that cared for me quite a bit. And between scar tissue and everything else it does affect the body a lot so it is quite painful especially as many times I've been poked and prodded everyday because I had to be checked so yes I've spent several times in hospitals and things like that. Yates Center Kansas, Chanute Kansas, Humboldt Kansas etc. You know being convinced and forced to believe that I was never born with any health issues or birth defect or any of that and that caused me more injuries and I would get sicker and everything else. Somebody needs to stop harassing me with the CZcams contents with the media contents or whatever it is there's medications I have to be on I don't know what their problem is what they don't understand of birth defect injuries of what other injuries I sustained internally. I'm barely on one medication because of the harassment to do with that with the CZcams ads or anything to do with medication that I need to be on whoever it is is literally making it damn near impossible for people like me I mean would they like to be born with so many injuries at one time and then have to deal with the injuries and everything else throughout the rest of their life especially the damages that has been done by the way I was born and after. And not to mention more surgeries that I'm pretty sure I'll have to have surgeries that I've already had to try to fix the problems of issues especially to have mesh in me and all the scar tissue and damage and everything else like that it hardens up and it's very painful and when you have mesh in you on both sides that gets very painful as well if you move wrong or anything else somebody really needs to look into that when your whole stomach to your abdomen to your you know upper chest is completely gone there's nothing there everything's all hanging out you know oh my gosh like I don't want to have to legally prove that I have a scar from my all the way down to my stomach my abdomen and then other scars from other surgeries that I had to have that were a must what the person like to see the Damage Done to my feet and my heels but the person like to see the Damage Done to my head and my nerves

I was born with gastroschisis. Im about to turn 30. Apparently I spent 11 months of my first year of life in the hospital when i was born in '91. These days i have a gnarly scar across my lower abdomen which makes my whole body look like a smiley face lol. I'm fortunate enough i don't really gain weight regardless of what i eat, and i don't really lose weight either. The most I struggle with is iron deficiency and low hemoglobin levels. I've had to have a couple blood transfusions having blood levels so low that i shouldn't even be walking, yet I don't even notice and while getting the emergency call after bloodwork, i was riding bike and playing soccer.

Same. But I was in the hospital for a while, like 6 months or less I think, and I had one blood transfusion. My grandma exaggerated it a lot. But I hope u grow to love that you lived like me. I struggle with anemia too. I was born 99

I am also born with gastroschisis and I just turned 27 this January. I remember my mom informed me I was in Sick Kids hospital for my first 18 months. I was also back and fourth for 18 years. I have about 40 percent of my small intestine gone, 10 percent of my large and part of my bowel. I'm grateful everyday that I made it through. I'm happy both of you also survived as well. I have always wanted to write a book about my gastroschisis. The name I have is trusting what you have left of your gut, a gastroschisis survivor story.

I don't understand why I would even have to legally prove that to anybody on CZcams like that when it's between me and my doctor to do with the media ads or whatever to do with CZcams or wherever. I have a lot more injuries than I should have to after explain or prove or say that doesn't even count for the Damage Done to my muscles because of everything. Oh and I did work full-time jobs since I was old enough to work to take care of myself because nobody else financially took care of me but as a matter of fact I wasn't even technically old enough to work I had to be made to work when I was younger as a teen I didn't have a choice like some people do I didn't get things handed to me I didn't get taken care of like that I worked. And when I did have to work it did cause more injuries and I didn't realize that until after I don't know how many times I was laid off because I was considered a liability even though I was actually told I was overqualified for some jobs and they didn't want to have to keep over paying me so that didn't make sense when I was keeping up way more faster than other people were at the jobs I'm not bragging I'm just simply saying I didn't have a choice in a lot of things. I still can't figure out why I'm barely able to be on one medication

I had a child 1985 natural birth..born with gastrochesis..transfered to children hospital and died 36 hours later. Death was due to severe apnea of lungs. Was told not to have further children without genetic testing first and that the natural birth caused her to swallow fluid during birth..your thoughts? Never had any other children

I still don't understand what is going on with somebody to either do with my account or not I have to live with this for the rest of my life so I have to be on certain things because of how much damage it also did to certain of my organs as well as my muscles and other injuries I didn't think I had to keep proving that to people that as to why we have to be on certain medications for the simple fact is I've got mentioned me and I had support wires at one point those were kind of painful but thank goodness I had amazing doctors to know that I needed the herniated mesh in me because of my birth injuries it had nothing to do with anything else it's from the injuries I sustained I don't know why anybody ever thought that was different to do with anything else nothing to do with overdoing on medication nothing to do with any of that for goodness sakes there's so many things I was never even prescribed that I should have been because of the ignorance unknowledgeable people that think that. If they don't understand what that does when your organs are on the outside of your body when you're born anyways that's a reason why I absolutely love doctors and nurses that completely understand❤🤗🥲
There were so many reasons I wish I wasn't born but I'm not ready to die, if that makes sense I actually love to live if I could live forever I would. I'm pretty sure quite a few people we all know aren't ready to die but we're preparing for because that's also important the mutation of DNA in our genes can affect a lot. That's really really extremely important there was so many doctors and nurses that I just adore and love because the ones that never ever made me feel uncomfortable like they were just so unbelievably professional like caring like oh my gosh like they're just so amazingly mesmerizing
