The ZAZ V4 engine is one of the greatest engines I've had pleasure to see in action. We've had a Luaz 969 and it was a beast in offroad. The engine was the same as here and it was so convenient, you could've pulled it out easily and without a crane, just get it home to do some repairs and then put it back just as easy. It didn't have turbos, too much wires or anything fancy, no hundreds of HP, but it was just enough. The simplicity of the cars based in former Soviet Union was just unbelievable and they really served their purposes to the full. I know many people won't understand it if they lived in the "Western" part of the world, but this brute simplicity worked in the environment it was supposed to be in.
