    Example of what to say:
    Hello,
My name is __ and I am calling on behalf of the Englebert family who has been waiting several years for answers regarding their son, Chance, who went missing on July 6, 2019. Chance was a new father, an older brother, and a devoted son who disappeared under unusual circumstances after walking away from his wife after an argument.
The case has been investigated by the Gering Police Department, but as the years go by without answers, I believe it is time that Nebraska State Police step forward and take over the investigation. I am asking that you prioritize the transfer of this case to the correct department.
It is not too late to find Chance and give his family the closure and justice they deserve.
    Thank you for your time.

I worked as a bartender in Wyoming about 3 hours from Chances last seen location when he first went missing. 2 men came into my bar, I carded the younger looking guy immediately when they walked in, he became very emotional and upset saying he was looking for his brother and took off searching the place. The other man showed me a picture of Chance and asked if I’d seen him, that he was missing, explained the situation etc. I told them I hadn’t seen him and they left after. Thinking then it wasn’t a big deal as people often come into bars looking for friends etc the morning after going out. Now, in 2022, still no sign of Chance, it’s heartbreaking to remember the pain and worry in their eyes and voices. I hope his family and loved ones get some real answers to this tragedy soon.

Something is definitely not right with her family. Who the hell tries to get a death certificate a couple days after he goes missing. She must know SOMETHING. I seen families wait years to get a certificate in hopes their loved one comes home . I honestly think whoever he had words with in her family knows a lot more . Why can’t you give this family peace and closure? Didn’t you do enough by taking the grandson away as well? What if it was your son wouldn’t you want to know what happened? I have seen a little boy that was sent on a mission while his mother waited in the car, I should have got her tag number but dfacs doesn't care you can report even horrible things much worse than that and they'll never respond or do anything they'll give you the information to make you a mandated reporter but that's as far as it goes.

I was having a hard time convincing him to take the ride and I used a typical line there are people that are taking people in chaining them up in their basements -LOL and they listen. I own a transportation company so it's not unnormal for me offer transportation to strangers, feel comfortable accepting the ride it is uncommon for me to offer children a ride though. Raising myself made it to where I don't even have to try I'm always seeing stuff like this, nobody watching their own kids and I'm more worried than they are, I catch their parents in the act of being neglectful. The Platte River can rise quickly and produce extremely rough currents. There was a little girl playing on the sand bank when it collapsed on the Platte two years ago. In seconds she was sucked under and her body never found. This happened in front of a lot of witnesses. It does not matter how strong you are when it comes to mother nature.

They were able to confirm the calls and texts to his family and friends, so I would assume that included the one to Baylee early on in the evening. But even if it didn't, it shows he was active and a broad area after that time.

Honestly, I'm leaning toward believing it was an accident. Feels like the marriage wasn't the soul-bonded for life kinda deal, and her actions reflect that more than being sketchy to me. If he were the love of her life, she'd still be out there searching for him. But he wasn't. The fact that she let him walk away drunk to begin with kinda gives that away. It's tragic, but I don't think there was foul play. I just hope the family gets some closure one day and that Banks gets to know his father's family, too.

His body not being found would mean it's way more likely that it's homicide and his body hidden purposefully, especially considering they knew the general location he was last in based on cell phone records. It's certainly suspicious that he goes missing right after a fight with her family and then it doesn't even seem like the wife cares at all that she's lost her husband, and was so quick to move on and label him as dead after only two days missing. Very, very suspicious. I'm wondering exactly how much his life insurance policy was. I don't remember hearing about the amount of it from the video.

I'm a Nebraska native, and the Platte river was notorious where I grew up for its incredibly unpredictable currents. My cousin drowned one summer swimming in it, and he was grown, totally sober, and a capable swimmer. It's dangerous normally let alone after a storm with heavy rainfall. I think the reason Baylee acts so oddly could be because her and Chance already had a rocky marriage with a lot of tension between their families from the start. At the time of his disappearance she had no income, a young child, was still young herself, and her family eventually lawyered up to protect themselves from the accusations that were coming their way. The whole situation that night was incredibly volatile and I think Chance ended up in the river somehow, intentionally or not. The PD is treating it as a homicide and I do think that's the right course of action. Given the chaotic and confusing nature of what happened, there is always a chance it was foul play. I pray that Chance is found, hopefully alive somehow. My heart breaks thinking about his family and friends and especially that little boy, they all need him home.

I always wondered the same!!! Imo, I think it depends on the person & the situation. If u want to live in fantasyland thinking their still alive and started this great new life somewhere, then it’d be better to not get answers and believe their still alive and happy. But if u know 100% that they would NEVER abandon their family and you KNOW they’re dead, then it would be better to have that closure. So for most ppl, it’s better to have the closure. But for those who either live their lives in denial; or if their missing family member had a strong likelihood of wanting to leave and start a new life, then ya they’d prolly be better off believing that.
On another note- if they were brutally tortured for days, weeks, or months on end then murdered in the worst way possible, I’d rather believe the death was quick and painless and they didn’t get to see anything (like getting shot in the back of the head without warning). Like I’d still wanna know they were murdered, but not hear the gruesome morbid details. That info should stay private with detectives for the sole purposes of solving the crime. Again, just my opinion

I know nothing about Nebraska or Wyoming or South Dakota, etc., but this is a very strange case. The wife being so young, going to the police can make sense if one considers how young she is - her life experiences are few - she probably had no idea what to do and was afraid of becoming homeless with a new baby and no father. Plus the footage shows he's most likely following directions on his phone. It's reported that everyone was calling him and he wasn't answering on purpose (as you can see he was def using his phone for directions, yet not answering calls). I'm curious as to what kind of neighborhood he was in, he looked lost. It's very possible, if he was in a bad neighborhood that he could have accidentally fallen prey to any sort of strangers with ill intent. He clearly left the gold course on his own, no one in that family was seen on any footage, etc. and again, he was purposely not answering his phone. A person earlier said that the river there can be quite fierce. If he was near the river and it was dark during the storm it's possible he fell into it. But I just don't see that it was foul play on the wife's side/family. I think either something more sinister happened as he was not in a location familiar to him ,or he was a victim of the terrible storm that night.

Thank you Kendall for bringing this case to light!! So many get passed by without any real coverage. I suspect Baylee and her family to be very negligent with how they’ve pretty much written Chances family off! Makes me wonder if this was all set up for a while before his disappearance. Baylee constantly calling him a cheater, trying and successfully creating a divide between him and his family, calling his Mother to downgrade him and then after drop contact with his family when she should be doing everything she can to remain in his family’s life for the sake of the baby!!!! Sounds premeditated to me! Not to mention there isn’t a body found and she’s already wanting life insurance money!
