Not only was Muichirou a Hashira at 14 years old, but he became a Hashira 2 months after picking up a sword. Not to mention he was the only Hashira we know of who was able to solo an Upper Moon. Meanwhile Tanjiro spent 2 years learning to cut a rock lmao.

Look, I honestly liked everything about Rengoku before the movie came out, his breathing technique, his personality, his way of thinking, the way he speaks, but when I first saw the movie I was stunned because we got to see way more of him and his character and just who he is as a human, Kyojuro Rengoku will always be my personal #1 favorite Hashira🔥

Giyu is my favorite. His personality, design, voice and move set makes me love him.
Uzui is underrated. The poison he had in his system that he received right before the fight SEVERELY weakened him even to the point he wasn’t even able to cut off one of their heads. Not to mention the circumstances with fighting daki and gyutaro with how you need to cut off both heads at the same time in order to kill them is basically impossible for a single person to do alone so of course he’s going to need help while being severely poisoned and needing to cut both heads off. Gyutaro is also strong enough to be a higher ranked demon, it was stated by Muzan that his rank could be higher if he wasn’t held back daki since she’s so weak so he easily could be around upper moon 4 or 5 strength

I love love Tengen and all the Hashiras. But The poison was slowly killing him but it didn't really weaken him he said it himself... plus Gyutaro didn't think Tengen was really that tough... that fight was pretty much pure luck, like when Tangiro was waiting for Gyutaro to come closer to place that Wysteria dart on him

Tanjiro if he was 21 though- he would be closely on par with Gyomei since he solo'ed the hand demon unlike Sabito who died when he fought the hand demon. I know Sabito solo'ed all the other demons that even the other participants just passed by default so he was tired but remember Tanjiro did kill some other demons and even took on the evolved hand demon and still won

@@davidb1892 Human Tanjiro did better than exhausted Gyomei and Sanemi, after Gyomei's leg was cut off and Sanemi lost two of the most important fingers to holding a sword and coming immediately from a fight with um1, when Tanjiro had gotten a lot of rest time after um3, when um1 is in a completely different dimension to um3. What an achievement. Also Tanjiro literally needed medical treatment half way through the fight.
Just because Iguro did better than Sanemi and Gyomei doesn't necessarily make him better, does it? Then why does Tanjiro doing better than Sanemi and Gyomei mean anything?
If you remember the other hashira who went against the upper moons had awakened their demon slayer mark and people like Uzui and rengoku didn't even awaken it. Demon slayer marks makes you a lot stronger.
honestly i dont agree with this list in terms of rengokus placement, since even after being injured, protecting tanjiro and his friends, he was still able to hold his own against uppermoon 3 akaza, and it took the help of tanjiro with giyu using his demon slayer mark in order to finally defeat him, yet rengoku almost defeated him while being injured and having to fight defensively in order to save tanjiro and his friends as well as fighting WITHOUT a demon slayer mark. So honestly i would put rengoku above giyu and def above mitsuri

Out of all the hashira ranking lists i've seen so far, this one is probably the best, I personally think Rengoku being placed at 7th is very justified because the amps the other hashira get later on make them like 10x stronger

Ok hear me out here, i think Tengen should be placed higher. Here's why. I believe that Daki and Gyutarou both combined were equivalent to a stronger demon moon, like upper 5. Tengen also had to worry about Tanjiro, and his wives being hurt, while ALSO having to try and make sure that both demons' heads are cut off consecutively. Tengen held off Gyutarou by himself for an impressive amount of time and had 0 trouble with Daki. Tengen also had to hold out while Zenitsu and Inosuke were struggling against Daki. Personally, i dont think someone like Rengoku coud have pulled off this feat. You may argue that Rengoku fought a much higher ranked upper moon, Akaza, but not only was Akaza toying with Rengoku, he's also only one demon, with one neck to cut at one time.

And akaza is fast, and strong, and his attacks can be annoying. Of course rengoku lost

Tengen for sure couldve held his own against akaza, especially since he is physically stronger, and faster than rengoku, plus fkame breathing is very similair to other breathing styles, so akaza probably had no trouble adjusting to it. Tengen has an incredibly unique ability, as it uses explosions. Something akaza is not used to dealing with.

Even if he has poison resistance it still affected him, tengen during the arc had to protect tanjiro, look out for inosuke and zenitsu, his 3 wives and etc whilst trying to keep pace with an upper moon and consecutively behead multiple demons all at once, whilst being poisoned. Tengens also confirmed to physically be the 2nd strongest and to be the fastest in running and movement speed. Tengen during his arc wasn't him at his 100% if anything he was barely at 50% of how strong he actually is due to the given conditions he had to face
Plus he was able to fight evenly with upm6 while being poisoned Nd hving one hand lol he should definitely be ranked higher he got lowballed on this list

While poisoned, while protecting everyone else, against a demon split in two that needs to be beheaded at the same time, without a demon slayer mark, and against a demon that would have been upper 4 or 5 if his sister wasn’t holding him back. This list shafts Tengen.

Rengoku fought uppermoon 3 until sunrise and almost cut off his head, giyu was fighting demon king tanjiro by himself
Surprise attacks don't count as feats akaza could have killed rengoku as soon as the fight started but dragged it cuz he saw potential.
Tbf Giyu couldn’t defeat Akaza by himself, so the list of correct as is. He barely managed to delay Demon King Tanjiro
Not really Giyu was seen tagging and intercepting and being able to land blows on demon king tanjior whilst inosuke couldn’t even hit tanjiros arm and the others couldn’t even fight

I'm really glad Giyuu is ranked higher, bc he usually tends to be really low on other tier lists. He's not the strongest pillar obv, but I feel like people tend to underestimate him at times, and their main reason is usually how he seemed to struggle more during his fight with Akaza, but if I remember correctly, in the manga, (I think it was Douma) who mentioned how Akaza became a little stronger, probably after the mugen train arc, so that could also be a factor as to why Giyuu struggled more, that, and also how Akaza is now much more serious this time. I still think Giyuu did a great job being able to hold on against him.

Even though Akaza punched a hole through Rengoku, Rengoku had enough strength to hold Akaza’s punch (Nearly getting decapitated) while almost cutting off Akaza’s head. If Akaza hadn’t run away there was a chance that Rengoku would have won the battle
If you think about rengoku should be the strongest hashira because he able to have the strength to still cut the head even if he has a outstanding Injury

This is false in my opinion considering that akaza only panicked because of the sun, not to mention akaza is far stronger than rengoku and was holding back against him the whole time. If the sun wasn't a factor we simply wouldn't have a protagonist because akaza would've just killed everyone.

The difference of akaza fight between giyuu and rengoku is how akaza's intent in the battle
In rengoku fight akaza lowered his guard so low and being talkative to rengoku just so maybe rengoku want to become demon and underestimating rengoku for being human
While giyuu fight it's pretty much the final war akaza is full force intended to kill giyuu so he could quickly move on to kill other pillars,so no time to spare
you could tell people who take rengokus side are anime casuals they have yet to see the difference between giyuu and rengoku
That is one way of looking at it, but I think we also have to consider that Giyuu was marked, and still did worse than non-marked Rengoku

Tengen during his arc wasn't him at his 100% if anything he was barely at 50% of how strong he actually is due to the given conditions he had to face
Due to the conditions he had to face I think Tengen is hella underrated, I personally think he should be considered to at least be almost on rengokus level if not at least nearly equal, Tengen definitely didn't get to show off his capabilities as well as most hashira had the opportunity to, full power Tengen that's not poisoned is atleast almost equal to rengoku

If it was almost any other pillar they would've died way sooner than uzui due to the poison. So how am i capping?

I believe it's "Muichiro" not "Murichiro". Also, I think Rengoku should rank higher on the list. He, for one, is Mitsuri's sensei and love breathing technique was derived from his flame breathing technique. Had he lived longer, he would have manifested the mark.

But he didn’t, so he was ranked where he was supposed to. He did have potential to make it top 3 but he didn’t live long enough to get there. Akaza even said Rengoku was not in his prime yet when they fought.
I can actually kinda explain the Akaza fight. Rengoku should've gotten decapitated if Akaza was truly trying. Akaza is a unique type of fighter. He fights to draw the most potential out of a person as possible. He even has something of a safety net with his "battle compass" so he's truly fighting for kicks and giggles most of the time. He saw Rengoku had lots of potential and so he did his best to draw it out. And, to Akaza's credit, he did just that. He just didn't expect the day to come so soon, he got carried away. Rengoku was competent enough to keep him still and I personally believed that Rengoku was planning this in the back of his mind.
For clarity, Rengoku couldn't have beaten Akaza in his current state as of dying. Akaza's battle compass and general raw power would've obliterated him if Akaza wasn't fighting for giggles. But, Rengoku was powerful enough to outsmart Akaza and tried his best to keep him still long enough to disintegrate. Could Rengoku have cut off Akaza's head? Maybe. But that wouldn't have meant anything.
TL;DR Rengoku's strong for sure. He may be even could've taken down the upper moon's 6-4. But Akaza's in a league of his own, and he was holding back that whole battle. But Rengoku's strong enough to maintain Akaza's attention and be smart and determined enough to almost kill Akaza by sunlight

But Upper Moon's 3-1 are downright *exponential* in power. It took the whole Demon Slayer Corps and the power of plot and cheesing it to beat them

@@timflynn2666 It's mildly headcanon. But it's not an extreme stretch in logic. You saw how Akaza was acting during his fight with Rengoku, he was having fun. He was generally unfocused. He got serious as soon as the sun started to rise and Rengoku had him stuck in a deadlock. Total 180 in terms of personality. He was panicking. He was afraid. Specifically of the sun rising and not Rengoku cutting his head off. You can tell. It's probably headcanon to say that he was panicking because he didn't expect Rengoku to get that far and he lost track of time. But, it can be said that he was holding back. Because in the Akaza VS Tanjiro and Giyu he wasn't holding back and they barely survived. Keep in mind that this is post training arc Tanjiro who's been stated by Giyu to be Hashira level, and Giyu who at the very least has his mark and I think it's safe to say that he's stronger than Rengoku. And, Akaza basically said "I used Kyojuro for all that he's really worth as a human". At the very least, we can determine that Akaza was playing with Rengoku. Besides that, I'm willing to admit that everything else was pretty headcanon

The fact Gyomei destoryed Muzan’s head instantly in their first encounter is so crazy to me because when you look back at the beginning arcs specifically when Tanjiro was fighting lower moon 6 Rui we saw he couldn’t even cut his neck at first when given the opportunity to and that was the weakest kizuki. Now back to Gyomei he was able to destroy Muzan’s head instantly the first time seeing him with just his raw base power. He didn’t activate his mark, he wasn’t using the see through world and his weapon hadn’t turned red at that time either so no boosts he was able to destroy the strongest demons head with no difficulty whatsoever and you can argue well he caught Muzan off guard but even still no regular demon slayer is going to be able to cut Muzan’s head with their first blow even if he’s caught off guard.

Tengen is constantly getting shafted on these lists .. It’s not that I have an issue with his placement. . I actually agree with his placement on this list (post mark at least, which is what this list is so we’re good) . But , his feats and overall strength literally always get misconstrued. Tengen could’ve beat gyuutaro one on one had he been healthy. The poison is the only reason he lost. They stated that when tengens “score” was complete, the only reason he couldn’t take off his head was due to the poison. Gyuutaro stated himself that tengen was “strong” but was “weak as shit” due to the poison. The way he got tagged initially when he got poisoned, I think most hashira would’ve gotten grazed as well. He was going in for an assassination and was caught off guard and was still able to dodge the majority of the attack from point blank range. People take poisoned tengen feats and mark them as “his full strength” just because that’s all we have to go off of. Now before you lose your mind , I’m not saying we have to start doing mass amounts of headcannon to determine exactly how strong “healthy tengen” is. But for the love of everything, when I see these videos, I just wish people making them would take all of the facts surrounding him into consideration.
Tengen is stronger then people think lmao, just remember he practically beat upper moon 6 by himself with some help and he didn't even need he's demon slayer mark. Also keep in mind that upper moon 6 skin terns of power should be upper moon 5....but he's sister Daki help him back .

It's important to remember, gyomei was the only hashira who coulf willingly activate his demon slayer mark. He realised he had tbe ability much longer ago and was saving it for his fight with Muzan.

But it's pretty hard to rank most of them, Sanemi and Gyomei are without a doubt the 2 strongest but choosing the 3~6 is always a tricky situation.

(Put Giyu above Muichiro since he has more experience and better swordsmen-ship, also Giyus breath of water which is a one of the 5 main original breathings is better than mist due to its Arsenal of moves since it has 11 and mist has 7. Also Giyu is also faster since he moves like water such as when he uses flowing dance. But if Muichiro had more time and experience then he would definitely be stronger than both Giyu and Obanai. For those Rengoku simps out there i put Mitsuri above him since she manifested the demon slayer mark and surpassed him despite being her teacher. Also Akaza was just toying with Rengoku where as he was fighting seriously against Kamado Tanjirou and Tomioka Giyu. Akaza was just scared of the sun and could have easily killed Rengoku if he uses anialation type at the start of the fight)
I would personally say that ranking giyuu and obanai is pracitcally impossible.
The only way we can compare them is their fight with muzan which obanai definitly did better.
However giyuu was only supporting for a reason that being that he was extremely tired and damaged from his battle with akaza while igoru was in practically top condition when he was fighting muzan. So my list is just giyuu and obanai being interchangable in 3rd and 4th.

Sometimes I get upset there’s not a stronger female pillar. But then I think about how developed shinobu and mitsuri are that it doesn’t even matter. All of the pillars fill their purpose and don’t feel so focused on strength. That’s why I love demon slayer so much. The characters are just amazing male or female. Unlike some other shonen

Even though this is probably the most accurate list I’ve seen, I think you really can’t rank the hashira other than the fact saneme and gyomei are the best with gyomei being the best. Other than that u really should only rank the hashira by category, like speed, swordmanship, techniques, strength etc

iguro held his ground against muzan ik but koko and muzan r nearly similar power level and iguro was with other hashira, mui at 14 was on his own and still stood his ground against a person who was barley muzans level (koko). Also taking into consideration how he soloed upm5 on his own so easily he didn't even try to upm5 isnt necessarily weak u know. Its very close between the two
