The GAU-8 was not mounted on the A-10 contrary to popular belief, actually the A-10 was mounted on the GAU-8.

I don’t know anything about what he’s talking about but every time he laughs I just laugh with him
The actual story he's telling is when he was young he was hired to wash dishes for this local restaurant. That night, after cleaning the entire place to open for the season they discovered some of the pans were moldy, so the owner told him to go leave them in the ocean just off shore and tie them to a stake so he can find them tomorrow on his way into work.
Well, if course, what neither of them considered was that he left them at low tide ... and now they're under 20 plus feet of water since the tide has risen. In the end they only recovered a couple of the 20 or so pans and the cook made him pay for new ones out of his check - then fired him.

Some acronyms I researched for us ignorant civs:
- AB Takeoff: when 2 aircraft takeoff nearly simultaneously.
- TDY: Temporary Duty Assignment (presumably, to other countries).
- O6: Colonel (presumably, squadron commander?)
Could not find what EQ means...
AB takeoff = afterburner takeoff. O-6 is a Colonel (or Captain in the Navy) usually a group or wing commander. EQ is checkride grade (above average basically)

I had the privilege of going to a Roll Call with 410 "Cougars", the RCAF Hornet OTU. Best time I ever had....and I'm no where near being a fighter pilot. I'm normally quite introverted around people, but I felt at home at th Roll Call. Weird for being a civ? I did have a handful of friends there though....and I had built a model for the squadron...and beer. Not scared at all. 😂
Hey Mover, had a good laugh in these dark rimes. Something I wanted to tell, the upgraded MiG-21s like the bison variant actually have good visibility. Their canopies aren't cluttered with all the metal frame the earlier variants had.

Crewing F-105's at George AFB was always interesting. Many folks were still wearing their 100 Missions over Vietnam patches.
Example #1- We had a Bear that would come out, look at the weapon and strap in.
Example #2- Pilot walked up and immediately went up the boarding ladder. Me-"Are you going to look at the aircraft, sir." Him- "You already did, didn't you?"
Best Example- I'd just launched a jet out and proudly showed off the cool scarf that I just scored from the pilot. "He'll want that back," said the Expeditor. "It's his Lucky Charm that brings him Home every time."
I know little to nothing about the fighter pilot references but your knowledge of memes is on point.
