- In this video I show you how to build the Babu Frik stairs, Partridge Family stairs, and Cloud City Stairs. :) I used a inexpensive Desktop laser to cut through EVA foam to build this look. I also show you how I put the tint on the plexiglass. Let me show you!

Awesome job honey. I'm proud of you.
Couldn't have done it without you babe! Love you!
You guys are too cute.... Its awesome!!
Barge contact cement might be a good solution for gluing the mats down if the tape doesn't last.
Thanks! Yes that's what I was trying to say in the bloopers...I couldn't think of it...LOL...so far so good....I have that one step with velcro and It makes me mad everytime....Im going to change that some day!! :)
GREAT CRAFTSMANSHIP BROTHER. I LOVE YOUR WORK.
Thanks so much Vincent! I’m glad you appreciate it.
I want to nerd up my space like this, but sadly I'm renting at the moment. One day soon!
Build to make it movable?
I wish we had basements in Texas 🥺. Nice job.
StarWarsify your whole house and backyard. And you have to go BIG IN TEXAS!!! WHOOOOOOHOOOOO!!! Thanks I appreciate it!
I wish we had basements out west too.
These stairs are great! It really came together quite well! LOL! 16:39 Oh, and I approve of the ending!
LOL Thanks Ron! Gotta keep laughing, specially in this crazy world today. If I made one person laugh it was all worth it! You crack my up so much so I robbed that from you.
Great work buddy ! Hard work does pay off 👍👍👍
Thanks! Yeah it sure does. I might not be able to do a video a week but is it worth it when it’s something on a larger scale like this? Thanks for watching!
Love the look of these. Hoping I get to have a basement someday lol. It's so great how everyone comes up with creative ways to make a star wars room fit the space they have.
Thanks! When I saw them in the movie I just had to have them. Thanks for stopping by.
Amazing! just found out about your channel!
Glad you like it! More stuff coming Soon. Thanks!
😍 WOW 😮👌💥
Thanks!
Dave the stairs are amazing I can’t believe it is foam and how well it worked I may borrow that setup. Great ending the comedy is great 👍🏻
Thanks Dennis! This was a fun project and can always be improved upon. I want to start playing with Plastidip. Gotta keep it funny! :)

Lol ❤THE PARTIDGE FAMILY A CAPPELLA BROTHER.
Haha Your probably the first person to laugh about that! FINALLY! Thanks Brother!
@@WhiteysWickedWorkshop LOL I BELIEVE IT. I WATCHED THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY A LOT WHEN I WAS A KID. MY BIG SISTER ALWAYS HAD IT ON BECAUSE OF KEITH. I REALLY LIKED THE FUN MUSIC AND THE HILARIOUS STORIES. THEN I GOT TO WATCH STAR TREK, ARK II, THE FANTASTIC JOURNEY AND MANY OTHER FAVORITES. THEN CAME STAR WARS IN 1977 AND AFTER MY BIG SISTER AND HER BOYFRIEND WERE DRIVING US BAVK HOME I WAS TALKING ABOUT HOW I WANTED TO BE IN AND MAKE MOVIES WHEN I GREW UP. NOW AFTER HAVING MY OWN FAMILY OF 5 CHILDREN ALL GRIW UP I'M FINALLY LIVING MY DREAMS OUT WITH MY OWN CREATIONS FROM MY BOOK SERIES, THE TRANS-METRONOME-DEVICE ©️2015-2022 I'M ONLY A LITTLE OVER 2 MONTHS OLD HERE ON MY CZcams CHANNEL AND MY VIDEOS ARENT AS SPECIFICALLY EXECUTED AS YOURS YET BECAUS THE STUFF IM BUILDING IS OF COURSE FOR MY PRODUCTIONS SO UNTIL I RELEASE MY MINISERIES PILOT I WANT TO KEEP MY BUILDS ON THE DL FOR A WHILE. AFTER I RELEASE I WILL BE MORE HIGH TECH. DON'T WANT PEOPLE BUILDING MY SETS AND PROPS UNTIL I'M FULLY ESTABLISHED ON FILM. HOPE YOU ENJOY AND SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL. I ALREADY SUBSCRIBED TO YOURS. IT WAS A NO BRAINER. A FEW SECONDS IN I WAS IMPRESSED AND HOOKED. TTYS MTFBWY
@@vincentpaulmirabellaiifilm3613 yeah I subscribed this morning. Only got to check out your shorts so far. Good stuff
@@WhiteysWickedWorkshop THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE AWESOME COMPLIMENTS BROTHER. I CAN'T WAIT TIL YOU SEEALL MY VIDEOS. I HAVE LOTS OF YOUR WORK TO WATCH AS WELL. MTFBWY BROTHER TTYS
THANKS FOR YOUR SUBSCRIBE BROTHER. IT MEANS A LOT TO ME. MTFBWY
googone works well on all left sticky crapp from stickers decals excetra
Thanks! I have used googone and it works wonders....
Instead of the sticky covering, you can try sanding with an orbital sander or similar with 320 or higher sandpaper. It sounds crazy but I’ve had success with a different type of project.
Thanks for suggestion but these pieces werent totally flat and kind of bowed up on the edges. So I wanted to make sure they were flat so nobody tripped. Thanks for watching!
thanks Bro 👍💓
You're welcome! Hope this helped!
@@WhiteysWickedWorkshop 💓
Looks awesome
Thanks man! Where ya been? Seems like your busy busy busy.
@@WhiteysWickedWorkshop yea, life has taken a rather busy streak. I am hoping as fall comes, maybe I’ll get back to doing some more videos. And most likely sci-fi related
Great job on the steps. The look so movie like. And I would imagine the material you used should make walking up and down, more comfortable. Before I know it your basement will be ready for pre flight checks for takeoff
@@GarlandLym Hope to see you soon!
Brilliant! If it helps for future builds, translucent acrylic is available in a range of transmissivities. Also frosted acrylic instead of film?
Sounds dumb of me but I never asked that question of my supplier, or did I? I dont know but I'll keep that in mind. I got most of my Plexiglass acrylic from Lowes at first, but then bought them out. I now have a laser cutter so darker acrylics are on the list! Thanks for the heads up big papa!
An epoxy remover might do the job, but it might also ruin the material that's stuck on the glue as well. Incase something like too gone doesn't work, it's a last ditch option.
I'm liking the steps, not too many people know how to make stairs these days I found out when I had to redo the stairs myself in an apartment unit. I can see everything is really coming together, in time you'll have an amazing room!
Hope you find some use for the velcro still
Ill have to try that thanks.
(Velcro/tape/glue) Thanks for making me think about it before I actually had to use it. This episode could have been way later that it already was.
The double stick tape was much more cost effective also but yeah velcro is always in need.
Thanks for watching. Once the main shell is up I can start to fill it in with things along with making the Cantina maybe. Not sure which is first. But I think a prop is due.
@@WhiteysWickedWorkshop Cantina sounds pretty cool to do! Have you figured out like a plan on what you want the area to look like or are you just thinking up projects as you go along for it?
Enjoying the videos, looking forward to see what it'll be like a year or so down the road. Glad if I had any positive impact!
@@Syntage88 I don't want to give away too much because makers like to use others ideas but I try to be fresh. But basically a useable bar and alot of hoses with liquids and such. I always have stuff rolling around in my head. You did and i appreciate the help. Believe me I can use all the help I can get! LOL Thanks for watching
@@WhiteysWickedWorkshop Always, hope I catch the next one early.
Try automobile brake cleaner for removal. Great stuff..
Thanks I’ll keep that in mind if I run into some hard stuff. I used goo gone and it worked good. Thanks again! Come by again
Try using baby oil to get the sticky stuff off.
Thanks I used Googone.
Goo Gone or other citrus based cleaner should remove the sticky residue. You may need to clean again after with glass cleaner.
Thanks Andrew I'll have to check that out. Sounds like you've used it before?
@@WhiteysWickedWorkshop Yes. Works pretty well on most things. I’m not sure about availability in your part of the world.
Goo be gone to remove adhesive? I appreciate you sharing your "mistakes"- thanks!
Yeah somebody else mentioned that I’ll have to check that out thanks!! -- nobody’s perfect! Lol! Thanks for subbing!
@@WhiteysWickedWorkshop and I couldn't help but stare at the shop vac- it needs to be Star Wars-ed! Lol
@@sethcraig3670 Oh dam your right! I was blind to the fact....some day my friend oh yes!
why not just spray plexi glass with a frost white and be done with it, no air bubble worries?
Lol Better yet, Supposedly you can buy plexiglass already frosted....who knew?! Not I.
Where did you find the mats that look like grates?
Eva foam floor mats , that were laser etched. Link is in the description.
Is the clear piece that you used just thin acrylic sheeting from Home Depot?
Yes it is. I bought a large sheet and cut it down on my table saw. Supposedly you can purchase it already cloudy. Never looked into it.
What was the music for 0:20? I would appreciate it. :)
It’s FILMORA9 related music from the website. Don’t remember name but it’s an intro vid in filters.
What is your plans for the closet doors at the end of the stairs?
Not sure which your talking about...at the bottom of stairs is a door for the bathroom...close to under the stairs are automatic pneumatic doors? That what your talking about?
czcams.com/video/Xn1ldgH7Ci4/video.html
@@WhiteysWickedWorkshop ya, i guess the doors atnthe bottom of the stairs looked un-star-wars'd. Was wondering if you were doing the whole basement in the theme.
Love the stairs and lights btw
@@kelleyplumer8723 that was going to be a normal door for now. Maybe add some greeblies or something later , just so it would blend in. I’m trying to do the larger sections then come back and fill in and clean up. But yes the goal is to make you feel like your in a spaceship of some sort.
Foam gap filla
Foam gap filla? for?
@@WhiteysWickedWorkshop between the foam, it fills it in smooth.
@@FukWit. oh ok yeah. Forgot about the little gap. Thanks
WD40 gets off all sticky stuff
HAHA Really? Someone said GooGone and just tried it the other day and it works great. Thanks if I run into something that GooGone dont work with ill try good old faithful WD40!
I'm only in about 3:00, but I wanted to comment on removing the "Sticky Stuff" before I forget. Try the product called Goo Gone. I keep a couple of bottles in my desk at work and a couple of spray bottles under my home sink. It removes sticky residue of all sorts from everything I've used it for.
Thanks! Yeah someone else mentioned it and I purchased it but have not tried it yet.....you reminded me so now i have to find the sheets with the sticky stuff on it! Thanks!
