    So the RUC didnt mind the funeral going ahead, once they could photograph everyones face

    • @_Tabasco
      @_Tabasco Před 9 měsíci

      Yes, but obviously, when the agreement was made, between the INLA & the Police, to allow the funeral to go ahead, without the men carrying the coffin wearing masks, the INLA would only allow very low level supporters to then carry the coffin.
      No INLA members of any significance, would be exposed in such a situation.....

      What was the difference between the INLA & the IRA ?

    • @user-sj1xn7wm2b
      @user-sj1xn7wm2b Před 9 měsíci

      @@michaelburnett7809 The INLA was formed in 1974 in a hotel in Dublin because of the ceasefire from the Official IRA in 1972 after the shooting of a young soldier from Derry who had joined the British Army and also because he was Catholic there was a major outcry from the Nationalist people in the area. The INLA are more socialist and Marxist than the Provisional IRA who had also formed after a split in the IRA in 1969 which led to feuding and bitterness between both groups...!! #Eíre32

Go through there every 2-3 day's so yes I'll have a pink t-shirt on under the green camo hoody bruv. Crack on! Obviously hasn't been round many civilians shattered bodies who can't be separated. So they end up having the company of others in their own boxes for eternity. You know they end up being close acquaintances even though they most probably didnt/don't even know eachother in the flesh. So yes youd like to think that they'd of got on in the first place? @@michaelburnett7809 The IRSP/INLA split from the "Official IRA", or "OIRA" when (after actually) the split between the Provisional IRA - the "Provos", known generally as the "IRA" as they argued in favour of political violence, whereas the "Official IRA", also known as the "stickies" (officially) renounced it. The INLA paramilitary group and its political wing, the IRSP, came from the split within the Official IRA who were left wing but renounced violence. A brilliant A brilliant man called Seamus Costello formed the IRSP and the INLA with those OIRA members who did not want to renounce violence but also shared the left wing, anti-colonial ideas of Costello. He was sadly gunned down in his prime, by former "comrades" in the OIRA. Due to his Marxist-Leninist politics, which I believe were largely shared within the OIRA as well as some of the Provos (especially in jail when they started to read Marxism, Leninisn and so on), his assassination was a major blow to the republican movement as he aimed to bridge sectarian gaps and to frame the struggle in the north as a colonial and class-based struggle rather than a religious one (the ruling class always make it about religion). Their poster boy was Ronnie Bunting, a protestant who was also the son of a high-ranking military of the Brit Army - major I think? Someone will hopefully correct me if I got it wrong. The "IRA" (the Provos) didn't have a firm ideological outlook although it is fair to say that they agreed on the need to drive out an occupying force, but Seamus Costello was a follower of James Connelly so I would recommend reading into both men. It might be liberating to some to know that this war wasn't merely a sectarian/religious conflict but rather a conflict of national liberation, hence the Irish National Liberation Army.
