The flame is adjustable... Once the stove is burning, you can open the wingnut to reduce the pressure, lowering the flame.... It simmers beautifully. and if it's burning properly, there will be very little soot if any.

Look at the low, spitting flame around 11:25! Has to be a leak! The Primus 100 *is* 100, this year!

I think you need to have new washers and to try and stay out of the wind to light that stove that burner needs to be hot

Unfortunately for some folks like those of us who live in California denatured alcohol (marine stove fuel) is now illegal.😢...as is naphtha and Believe it or not Everclear.😮

@@tarstakars Odd because to my understanding denatured alcohol is just alcohol products that have chemicals added to prevent people from drinking it. Pretty wild if they banned it since those products are used for so many things

Isn't this the same stove you repaired last week?

It is! This was to show all the steps. I believe the damp spot under it was from condensation as I lit it again after the video and it was not duplicated and I touched the area and smelled it but found no kerosene odor.

@Pygar2 thanks! I didn't catch that at all...I wonder if I pumped it too soon. 🤔 I'll check the unedited footage and see. I really appreciate you pointing it out!
