Remember a night in Greenock Celtic supporters club,playing poker,before the star turn who was Johnny Doyle. He had a perm at this time,along with his wife,girlfriend,i don't really know to be honest. Now i had been to greenock celtic supporters club a couple of times previously,and the atmosphere was electric. Johnny had to present a plaque to some winner of the raffle,anyway the D.J stuck on "This Land is your Land" by the Barleycorn,and johnny got the wildest rousing reception ever,he was singing with he crowd and loving it,and so was i as a boy of 16 on LD and irn bru. Halycon days indeed.
I was at that game where John was red carded for hitting the ref. When I see the incompetent refs today, I only have to think of the trash we had then. I was in the old Rangers end when he scored against Madrid and ended up halfway down the terrace after that goal! Thanks for the memories Willie, keep uploading.
