    Keep going, man. I suffer from Bipolar II, PTSD and general anxiety. I self medicated myself with heroin (like an idiot...), but I got myself clean and sober. I got myself back in school and things are looking up. This is for everyone else; if you give yourself the chance, you'll succeed on your own road, because nobody can give you a chance like you can give yourself.
    Keep pushing on.

    I had been to a lot of funerals in my childhood as well. More than I can count on my hand. I feel like the effect it had on me is that I can't feel my own emotions, like a sociopath (I think?). I was the one to find my grandpa dead in my own house. I have been hallucinating since I was a kid as well. It wasn't extremely frequent though. I recently started seeing a psychiatrist and she explained to me what I experience are "sensory illusions" and not hallucinations. I've had my hair pulled, have felt bugs on me, heard voices in my head, seen dead people walking around, heard inanimate objects give me directions and feed me paranoid thoughts. I don't know what I have but I feel like none of my supporters (mental health team) really care or want to help me. I just want to feel "normal." I have been diagnosed with major depression and OCD. They think I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I'm on Cymbalta but it's not doing anything. I have really bad anxiety and panic attacks

    @iLitAfuseiCantStop Před 8 lety +64

    It's not "normal" for a child to hallucinate. I think you're confusing hallucination with imagination. Yes, a child might say they saw a dragon picking apples in their garden, but they didn't have that particular hallucination nor do they truly believe they saw that. They just have vivid imaginations. Very much like story telling.

    Just gotta say too that Funerals can mess a person up (6:40). I sure know (in some ways) how you felt. I lost my Father a few years back, and it's still a struggle daily to stay engaged with Life and to keep pushing forward. Granted, I've lost many people in life (because I'm in my 40s), but the depth of relationship is what matters more-so when you have loss. So, I can see that (if it bothers me as much as it does at my age) I can't imagine what it would do to someone only 11 years old. Wow. You're a Survivor and I salute you for making so much progress in overcoming your obstacles in this life. Life's short and should be enjoyed, so I like your attitude. You gave me a smile today, which will remind me to stay engaged with life; even though, I do miss one of the most truest friends that I have ever had.

      petrol devo I’m no doctor this is just what it sounds like to me, do you think maybe your mistaking your thoughts for actual sounds? • @MoneyBoyCJ
      @MoneyBoyCJ Před 5 lety

      petrol devo the fact that you are aware of these tells me that it most likely is not psychosis, there is such a thing as an inner voice that everyone has that can produce random thoughts uncontrollably. I think the difference is that people who suffer with psychosis believe that this voice is coming from an outside source. This is why some believe that god is talking to them for example. Plenty of other wise healthy people report hearing voices.. where it becomes a problem is when these voices command you to do things and you believe that they come from outside of yourself.

I figured it would pass but after a first hospitalisation, followed by a second one that lasted almost a year and a half, the doctors diagnosed me with simple schizophrenia, which is basically schizophrenia made only of negative symptoms. Nope :) It's not normal to hallucinate any time without using drugs. Children have fantasies, they act like they see things, but they really don't and they know they actually don't. It's always possible to think you see something from the corner of your eye or like a flash of something, but that is often the lighting or a reflection. Hallucinating, really seeing things that are not there, is never normal. It's so good to see you happy and appreciating everything ^^

    My twin brother got run over by a car and died instantly ,when we were seven years old, the only thing I remember is him laid on the road dead and the next week his funeral,I can't remember anything about our happy times together up till today. I also have attended many funerals in my young life ,my dad and brother died in the same year and and my mum and my older brother died in a space of eight weeks apart when I was thirty 31 so the same thing has happened to me twice ,I just came from the doctors diagnosed with this mental illness which I did not know I have ,all the symptoms you mentioned I have had it through the years without knowing it ,thank you for telling the world about it.

    I think kids can imagine very deeply but hallucinations are a different thing and not normal. I remember playing w/ my toys one day around age 4 and suddenly I heard 3 or 4 different voices (yelling and sounded very angry and oppressive) they seemed to be coming from the sofa cushion or somehow connected to it (lol angry talking cushion). everything felt unreal, scary, and bigger. I had no idea how to describe what had happened so I stayed quiet and continued having similar experiences on and off until early adulthood. I'm no expert or mental health professional but I'd say your childhood hallucinations were surely part of your schizophrenia.
    Good video. Hope you're doing well. :)

He's 20 just had had a bday, and any way he only hears voices and at first he had really bad anger issues, he was depressed and didn't want to do anything either. He also went to hospitals and the sec Time he came home he was a lot better. Still hearing voices. But with his meds has kept him calm. And I have told him that same thing try and keep your self busy by doing things he loves to do. Anyway love your video, thank you for sharing.

    I just finished responding to one of your 2013 videos.
    Guy, you keep calling them "hallucinations" when in fact people who are spiritually-minded, like myself, call them "visions".
    You know why you can see these things? Because you are a strong, wise soul. You've been incarnating for several several lifetimes.
    Like I said in one of your 2013 videos, I began hearing voices around age 3 1/2 or 4 years. I used to also see "floating grey/black balls" in mid air in my bedroom.
    One time in my early youth I got a bad flu. I saw my Mom's mid-1960s era suitcase floating near my bedroom doorway. I was not feeling well. I told my Mom. But she did not send me to a shrink. That was a good thiing.
    You have one or more spirits that are there to help you navigate your life, to make it easier on you. You don't have to take their advice all of the time. Hey, I have a boy spirit, who would be my flesh and blood son if I met the right girl, but it hasn't happened in the 30 years since he met me. So his role is similar to a spirit guide, but he insists that I think of him as my son.
    I'm grateful for Andrew's help. He is always with me. We sleep together, he eats the engery portion of my food and drink, etc... I can literally feel his presence because he rests his Human spirit hand on my back.
    I am not scared of him. He is a 7 yr old boy and he can *easily* change to whatever age he wants ... 11 yrs., 3 yrs., 14 yrs., etc... and then back to 7.

    Thank-u for putting up this video as It takes courage and an openness to talk like you did here. I don't have the same condition you have however you mentioned Schizophrenia makes you a different person and causes you to 'think' differently had you not of developed the disease or whatever is the latest label it is given. Myself I have Major Depression and the same applies in that had I not of become depressed I would of not become the person I have developed into.
    For me my depression is sometimes unbearable in which it gives me an overwhelming sense of heartbreak and sadness that I can NEVER control, it's like loosing your Family, Children and a lover all in one fell swoop in which if this had actually happened you would be utterly unable to function and do normal things for a long time yet I have to outwardly go out into the world and do what it takes everyday to live apparently normal.
    I have many other symptoms similar to some Schizophrenics like an inability to concentrate when required, blocked thoughts or (empty headedness) as I call it and memory loss during mid sentence especially when reading instructions ect..My boss at work looks at me tapping his head and remarks 'something missing...' hinting to me 'you're not too smart are you?' Which I find quite offensive and insulting yet if I explain to him what I have to co-exist with everyday it would be wasted words or cause the demise of my new job.
    Your remark about how you are changed by Schizophrenia or Depression in my case immediately reminded me of one of my favorite films 'Girl Interrupted' where I think it's Cameron Diaz's or Wynonna Ryder's Character explains she wouldn't change what happened to her regarding her Mental health issues as it allows her to 'see' what unaffected people cannot and refers to it as like a blessing or has blessing as an aspect

    Hello! So, as a premise, I'm not fully diagnosed as schizophrenic - more like in the prodromal phase of the disease. I started therapy last april, after waiting to do it for all my life, and the therapist told me recently that if I won't cure myself, that's where I'll end up. Didn't know what to do with that info, but. Don't know if she was being honest or just trying not to worry me.
    I've always wondered about a lot of things I experienced when I was little, whether they were normal or not. I was very terrified of the dark - well, even now, it's pretty scary for me, but when I was little, I used to feel constantly like there was something behind me, trying to catch me, and when I ran to bed, I used to stare at objects, afraid I would see monster's faces. Well, sometimes I did. I only had one experience of auditory hallucination, though, which was pretty terrible on its own.
    On internet, it's written that schizophrenia usually arrives at 26 years old give or take, for women at least. So I guess that children who experience more symptoms of schizophrenia are exceptions? I don't know. I just hope like hell I'll never get to the point of having allucinations, because they creep the fuck out of me.

    I'm a new subscriber and I'm just going through all your videos, so sorry for all of the spam comments! I just wanted to say that you're very brave in doing this, by sharing your experience with schizophrenia. It definitely helps people with similar disorders but also people like me who are genuinely interested in learning about how peoples' lives can be affected by this. I just wandered by watching surgical procedure videos (I plan on being an emergency medicine physician) and this opened my mind up to the mental health arena where I haven't looked into before. Although, schizophrenia may make your life more different that I'll ever be able to understand, you seem like a normal guy that I'd want to be friends with! If you get where I'm coming from with that.

    You can truly help a lot of people that either have this illness or have a fmly member that has this illness.
    They will listen to you where they would prob not listen to anyone else. Because you have the same illness, they can relate to you.
    My suggestion to you is continue college to become a psychiatrist.
