I should have known this one would go fast...put it in my cart yesterday, but wanted to take some time to add more things later.....didn't get to it fast enough. Hi there! It will actually work for both (I have used the same size opening for both #3 or handbag zippers in the past)!
How do you use it if the pocket is at the very top of the bag?
You mark the zipper pocket as per this video and then you place that piece against your main panel wherever you want the zipper to be.

I personally don't really think it matters. The difference in tape width is pretty negligible.
