I love singleplayer games, please do this type of videos more often.
Totally agree, single player games are the best for me personally
yup, i always carve for more singeplayer games
yaaaaaaaaaaaaas
I 101% second this
Yep I’m a big single player guy as a lot of mp games just aren’t the same as they used to be. Give me a single player that’s fun or has a great story, or better yet one that has the option to also be done co-op with the occasional friend
Singleplayer games > multiplayer games
Don’t get me wrong…. Multiplayer games can be fun but at times they also can be tedious and feel like a grind. I prefer single player games because after work I can come home turn on the game system and just chill for a few hours on a cool singleplayer title in which I can just go at my own speed. If I’m feeling competitive I’ll play multiplayer. It’s good and refreshing to see a video like this and I can’t wait for this years lineup
Wholeheartedly agree.
thats the reason with skill based match making i stopped playing call of duty
As someone who has burned out on 1000s so hours of Destiny 2, WoW, Albion Online, New World, CoD etc….I agree. I was playing grindy multiplayer games and missing out on great single player experiences and stories.
@@MO_Disk Hugo 2 on PS2 is the shit
You know what I miss?? Split screen! I get the whole online thing but I miss being able to just play split screen with my wife. These days im going to have to go buy another ps5 just to play a game together
These are the type of videos I need when I'm looking to play something I can get immersed into. Just brought Neo The world ends with you on sale last week too. You guys are doing good work 👏
Get ready for A Lot of grinding to 100% it!
@@brandonstinson4988 Who the heck 100%s a jRPG? Good lord, that sounds like it's incredibly tedious and I really like jRPGs.
Why do people always say “brought” instead of “bought”? Does this annoy anyone else?
@@andrewl8514 bothers me but it's the dictionaries fault and whoever coins words and add them to the dictionary they shouldn't even let a word be that close in sound or that close in the way it's spelled
It’d be nice but like all these games I wanna play are not on pc
I swear to god, yesterday I was like I wish gameranx had a video where they talk about long and single player story driven video games. You guys all ways go well and beyond the expectations. I appreciate you guys so much. Hope you guys had a great Christmas and a wonderful Happy New Years. Much love ❤️

The Sherlock Holmes games are pretty underrated, like detective mystery type things and those games really scratch that itch.
100% agree. Detective games are so underrepresented in general. Still waiting for a successor to L.A. Noire and Detective Grimoire...
@@joharakiri I’ve had a LA Noire hole in my life for years 🙁
I saw a trailer for one of the previous Sherlock games and was surprised that it looked good. When I see games based on popular IP I just assume they're terrible

The Witcher 3 and AC Odyssey was a great game I played in the year 2021.
Ac odyssey have like 1600 hrs on I love that game
I found myself mostly replaying old stuff instead of new stuff this year too.
@@bambammartin1556 I realized I haven't bought any games released in 2021. I bought a bunch of games, all released in previous years. Part of it is because I'm a cheapskate looking for discounts, part of it is there's no new game that I was excited about last year.
This year though, Elden Ring is gonna be a launch-month buy (which to me, is early since I usually like to wait 2 months for bug fixes and watch reviews first)
@@akmal94ibrahim hell, I sank the most hours into morrowind, fear, and ninja gaiden this year lol. There just wasn’t much in the genres I like that came out that was to a quality standard I’d expect other than like Halo infinite. Eldenring and Ragnarok are guna be must-buys though for sure.
@@akmal94ibrahim lmao same, I bought like 12 games this year (including the witcher 3) and they were pretty much all from 2017/18/19
For me, The Witcher 3 I spent over 180 hours in it to 100% it all. Definitely a great experience!

@@erichvonmanstein1952 if you watched the video he said he'd want to see what games we played that we spent time on, nice try tho smartass
Man, I'm actually mad over Witcher 3. I put so much time into it, did so much that was above my level, and generally felt great about my choices. Had to sell it due to financial crap. Picked up the game of the year edition, ready to hop back in, and found that I had no save for it....because the goty edition somehow counts as a different game. I've grown up with single player games like the last of us GTA 5 GTA 4 GTA San Andreas Skyrim oblivion and many other but that's just because I've never had my PS4 connected to internet so yea

Ever played a fallout game well imagine the Witcher in overdrive and that’s in one game imagine in 4 games good luck with that chief
@@mertyuip06
Yeah. I got hundreds of hours in them too.
I love tales of arise. Took me 80 hours to 100 percent the game and get all achievements. Everything about it is so good, from the world to the characters you get to play as and learn about.
Just finished the main story for Lost Judgment, after putting 80 hours into it. Still have the school stories to finish too. One of my favorite games of 2021.
I was looking for a game that doesnt end right away...
Thank you!
Some of these games are examples of longer doesn't always mean better. I've come to appreciate shorter experiences that are all meat and no fat.
But fatty meat is so tasty
All depends on the cut of meat if ya get what I mean- agreed though
Yeah Valhalla is prime example of this. Totally mediocre, bloated game that might actually be good as a 20 hr experience.
@@enzog1078 Haven't played Valhalla yet, but this is so true for AC Odyssey. So much usless content that you get tired.
Deathloop scratched my inch and wanting more with 20 plus hours, well worth the money.
The Hitman franchise is a good one to check out, lots of replay value in it
Love all you at gameranx thanks for keeping me informed on everything gaming related thanks for all of your hard work. You guys are always entertains and informative
I put over 160 hours into Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and that was not including the DLC. Yes, I was late to the game but didn't want to pay full price. For $19.99, it was a steal. ;)
Of your time yeah
I finished Tales of Arise in 90 hours finishing all the fishing mini games and side quests. And, man, what a enjoyable game.
One of the most fun platinums I’ve ever earned
Days Gone, a really cool underrated game, it will take you about 35 hours for the main story, you also have challenges+ side missions. Definately worth checking out!!!
Definitely a fun game and nice open world. Great choice
Easily a 60+ hour game if you don't rush anything
The story was shit though. Way too much filler going on
@@shotaroikaros7096 I thought the story was pretty good actually. Love the characters.

Totally amazing video of single player games of 2021 miss and love too. Fantastic job gameranx
I played AC Valhalla for over 90 hours in 2021 and I highly recommend it!
I played AC Valhalla for under zero hours and I highly recommend doing that instead.
Finally I been scrolling through tryna find someone to say Valhalla. This is my first assassins creed and I’m currently like 40 hours in while doing the main story and a lot of the side quests and I feel like I’m about just over half way maybe. Im really enjoying this game and thought it should be mentioned here. I recommend it.
The problem for me, I am over 60h now, about 200 power level and every side mission and now main missions as well are so under my lvl that it is just a breeze and I don't find it engaging that much, I just can't die...
@@Iwaans Yeah that's one thing that definitely sucks is powering up makes the game too easy but you want the abilities unlocked from powering up. I stopped doing most side content when I hit that point and just focused on the main stuff. I can see why 100%ers would rather continue going through side content first. I recommend if anyone new to the game is looking for the challenge avoid putting any power points into their character but Ubisoft didn't effectively warn players about that in the game.
Played MGSv for the first time! And what an experience I put in over 100 hours into it. And the story and gameplay was so much fun
@WoodsTrekkie I get it, especially how slow it went to get to the last mission, but it actually made the story full circle which I loved. I went and played the first metal gear 198x and it feels like it's all connected which is genius
I bought the definitive edition and never played it yet! 😂😂
@@kenneth465 I had to sitting in my library for a couple of years before I began to delve in
@WoodsTrekkie Well I never played the previous games so I don’t know if it got ruined or not. I always wanted to play Metal Gear Solid 4 on the PS3 but never got the chance to play it.
I’d do anything to be able to play that game for the first time again
I’ve put over 100 hours into MH Rise, easily one of my favorite games ever and I will keep coming back to it, and if the DLC is anything like Icebourne, then that’ll be a long time
Idk why people spend hundred hours for MHRise, i have completed all the quest village and HR but only takes me below 100 hours to finish😭
I really like that u guys put what consoles the games are on in the bottom left corner, so thanx!
I been watching all your vid and just now subscribe
Longest for me last year (or ever) was Dragon Quest 11. Finished story + post game story in just over 200 hours. It was my first Dragon Quest game and it was amazing experience, great story, characters and world. Highly recommend to anyone interested in more traditional JRPGs.
Amazing game, put 130+ hrs into it. So much content. Anyone into classic jrpgs should play this. I am not even the biggest jrpg fan but I loved it.
I loved the original Final Fantasy games. Do the Dragon Quest games run like those did? Not sequels, all separate story lines. Ie DQ 11 is different story to DQ 10 or do I need to know what is going on?
@@manderm dragon age is a series with a non connected storyline but like final fantasy there are overarching themes and stuff where final fantasy has the crystals dragon quest has the luminaries
If you get an opportunity dragon quest 9 is fantastic too
God that game never ended. It was cool, and I loved the twist at the end where you think you're done, and you're not even like halfway through. But it is LOOONG.
Honestly I kinda like games that are at least more than 20 hours to beat the regular story but also more time to explore it all.
Personnally i feel satisfied when a game takes me equal or more time in hours than it cost me in dollars. So if i buy a game at 40$, i want it to be at least 40h to complete. Thats why i mostly buy in sales otherwise i would very seldom be content
@@alexterieur8813 Same. I still do that kind of calculation, but those hours need to be fun enjoyable hours. Not a slog or repetitive boring grind. The new AC series is long and has lots of contents but goddang are they boring and repetitive so I don't count most of the hours in my gameplay hours. I think I finished AC Odyssey in 50 hours including the sidequests, but really only less than 20 of those hours was fun.
@@akmal94ibrahim for sure, no matter how long a bad game is a bad game.
Thank you this list was actually good.
I spent a total of 60-70 hours (might be more actually, I lost count) on Far Cry 6 as a completionist. I just completed the game a few days ago. And yes, it includes exploring the whole of Yara. But still, I think I might not have explored every nook and cranny.
Valhalla is so long, I'm still playing it in 2022 since launch.
I rly enjoyed Biomutant, especially with the gadgets you get for exploring.
There's an area you can 'only' get to by an airship
But if you do it right, you can get a bat you got from a sidequest up to a nearby canyon.
Then you spawn a trampoline with ur mushroom powers and jump with the bat on it and glide to the area.
So basically the enviroment is 99% climbable
Great idea for a video. A lot of the big games of 2021 weren't that chunky so it's good to highlight these.
Also, returnal is a great one. I just got the true ending last night. I'm going to try and get the platinum so that should keep me busy for quite a few hours. I wouldn't be put off by the difficulty. A surprising amount of mission progress remains if you die. Like if your objective is to open a door and you die after opening it then that's one less thing to worry about on your next run. It's also very easy to skip an area and boss after you beat it. You can jump ahead to the next area without too much hassle.
Bought GOTG just two days ago and already loving it. Definitely one of the best games of 2021 for me and It Takes Two
Just finished lost judgment..love the series!
I love single player games open world games.
Can’t wait to play these
Lost Judgement deserves recognition for being one of the few franchises from Japan that doesn't use anime for its art style!!! The longest single player games I played last yr was Tales of Arise (78hrs), Lost Judgement (65hrs), Monster Hunter Stories (55hrs) and Returnal (55hrs).
But the longest game I've been playing since 2020 is FH5, 120 hrs and going...
I haven’t heard much about immortals fenyx rising. It was released in December of 2020, but I just finished it and it took me a little over 50 hours. That includes all side quests and most of the collectibles, but no DLC’s.
I love Immortals Fenyx Rising! It's so fun and not enough people talk about it
It's breath of the wild-lite, not nearly as unique or good, but I still really enjoyed it. The puzzles were just right - enough variety, challenge, but intuitive enough to not be frustrating. The combat is surprisingly robust if a little too easy. Solid game. A shame it flew under the radar. It's still an open world "ubisoft" game, but it's the most unique one in a long time. I enjoyed it way more than whatever copy-paste job Farcry or Assassin's Creed are squirting out onto the market the past few years. The humor is hit or miss but still pretty charming overall.
Same, just finished it a few days ago, did almost everything minus DLC, missing only 3-4 trophies. It was better than I expected. Only thing I didn't like was the occasional manual scanning of the entire horizon you had to do in order to reveal all the points of interests. Severe frame rate dip when doing that too on PS4. Thankfully you didn't have to do that too often.
Haven’t heard much? Dude everyone and their mother was talking about it last year.
@@johnwrath3612 The Combat is a little too easy? :) Have you played on the hardest difficulty? You get nearly one shot by a boss.
Been playing SMT V and I'm about 35 hours in and really enjoying it!
The long dark is easy to sink time into. I've been addicted for the last 2 weeks. Great indie survival game
boring
It took me about 50 hours or more to 100% both stories in Scarlet Nexus. I couldn't stop playing it cause the story and characters were so good. Probably the game i recommend the most to anyone looking for a good single player game. 2 stories, 2 characters to play and they play completely different, and the stories split and intertwine at the perfect times. You complete one story and you still have questions about what other characters were up to, so you start the second story and everything falls into place. Amazing game.
Yeah but the cutscenes are painfully boring
oh men the dialogs and cutscenes were way too much in comparison to the actally gameplay. 70% Dialogs and 30% Gameplay. Was more a Visuell Novel then an actually game.
I really had no expectations when I started it because it didn’t seem like my kind of game, but I have never been more pleasantly surprised. Playing through the game twice did not feel like a chore, each dialogue felt important and engaging, and the gameplay was insanely fun and rewarding. Truly one of the best games I’ve played in years. Just fantastic!
yes and i somehow managed to get my playtime to 120 hours 😂 well that was probably because I was doing homework and other stuff when I paused it 😂
Was just coming down here to give my case for Scarlet Nexus, but you nailed it! Such a fun game with tight unique combat, and a surprisingly decent story. The character interaction and relationship building stuff kept me coming back constantly.
I love that I can see a 2 second clip of Skyrim and know exactly where you are.
SMT 5 and Tales of Arise are must play games if you're into jrpgs
Yeah, *_Scarlet Nexus_* as well if you want something on the shorter side and *_FFVII Remake Intergrade_* (with a few graphical tweaks using mods to remove that abysmal forced dynamic resolution it has on it) for PC players... It was a good year for JRPGs indeed...
I love these videos really helps me out. Can gameranx do one on co-op games? Been trying to find something to play with friends.
Cant wait for 2022 singleplayer games looks awesome, first up its uncharted legacy of theives for me, singleplayer is pretty much the only mode i play apart from the occasional battlefront 2 since im suprised people still play it even after its finished updating
Uncharted legacy of thieves is just a remaster of games that released years ago though..
@@jessegarciaiv5380 yeah i know, but im still keen to try it out since i got the console to play it on anyway haha, other than that im more keen for forbidden west and dying light 2
@@ARC0210 Dying light 2 hopefully game of the year 2022
I am so glad Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is on here… I’m still working on that game and I started on launch day.
Woah, Gameranx actually listened and added Timestamps to a video. Well done.
For me Ender Lilies has been a longer game than I anticipated and soo worth it.! I currently have 49 hours on it and there is so much exploring and revisiting areas and opening new paths over the course of the game, and the artwork is AMAZING! - I had to mention that. I'm not usually into the sidescrollers but this is a great gaem with plenty of hours to be had!
A big metroidvania game is always great especially when the core gameplay is fun. I suggest you also try Aeterna Noctis because it's also quite huge and enjoyable for it's price at least for me.
The majority of people take a maximum of 20 hours on this game so it would not make sense for it to make this list.
@@GRGCompletionist Thanks for the suggestion, I will look into that one :)
Metroidvania style games are still relatively new to me but Ender Lillies is a game I've been excited for since it released. I haven't purchased it yet but from the beginning the art style and the music both have really pleased me. The music is especially excellent though seeming how most of the soundtracks (if not all) were produced by Mili, my favourite music artist!
@@Ren_Aegis Yeah, for me I haven't been into metroidvania games usually but this one has really taken my enjoyment up a few levels! As for the music, it is realy atmospheric. I love many of the tracks but one of my favourites is the one in the west tower. It is a bit sad, lonely sounding even but so felt! Hope you give the game a try and end up liking it as much as many people do :)
Sherlock Holmes was my GOTY for 2021. Incredible story and gameplay elements.
Really? I've heard mixed things, especially that the combat is token and very weird. The open world detective thing seemed interesting, though.
Nah my game of the year definitely has to be guardians of the galaxy it’s short but damn is it fun

I'm a big fan of the horror genre and I think it deserves more attention especially
the first FEAR game and VISAGE
Pathfinder wrath of the righteous is a Kickstarter project that I have no regrets having backed. It's a hell of a game.
I think Final Fantasy games are interesting. They're pretty linear but still easy to sink a LOT of time into.
Already got 100+ hours in ff7 remake after 2 weeks and first play through!
Pathfinder Kingmaker I’m loving! I can’t wait for Wrath of the Righteous on Xbox to release this March. In that same genre, DOS 1 and 2 are incredible, 2 is quite possibly the best CRPG ever. We will see what Baldurs Gate 3 brings!
They are all phenomenal. I personally like pillars of eternity 2 best (crpg and just my favorite game overall) but wotr could get close for me. Dos 2 for me misses on the source magic system or else it probably would be my favorite. Good time to be crpg fan
I was really itching to pull the trigger on NEO World Ends. This list pushed me to get the game now especially it’s currently on sale at half the price on eShop. I’ll be grinding this game up for sure
Aeterna Noctis. About 50% through and have already put close to 30 hours in. It's a new metroidvania with precise platforming and difficult bosses. Been really fun so far
i’m really enjoying yakuza: like a dragon. didn’t get around to it when it first dropped late 2020 since it’s came on ps5 this year.

I already know Jake gunna say before I start this video that his fav games is single player experiences😂😂
I'm currently 50 hours into Chronicles of Myrtana. It's a mod for Gothic 2 Gold (RPG from 2002). Sure the graphics are outdated but damn is this mod absolutely amazing. It's incredible what a small team of fans from Poland made. It's completely free on Steam and I invite everyone to try it out. It's not for everyone but it deserves a chance. I would love if gameranx highlighted it somehow.
Huge Gothic fan here!
Tales of arise is my first entry into this series and it has been my favourite JRPG since Breath of Fire 4 on the PS1. Just loved it
Breath of Fire 4 gives me pure joy when I think about it. Me and my twin brother spent hours finishing it when we were about 9 or 10 years old. Best gaming memories!
@@jamessoar2146 best soundtrack ever also! I still listen to it time to time 😁
My longest single player experience in 2021 was Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
I dropped it before completion after 40 hours. The gameplay loop is very addicting, and that’s pretty much the only reason to play. The story and characters are boring, so after a while you really start noticing the repetitive nature of the game.
It is a grind-fest. The game forces you to complete side quests before ranking up enough to progress the main quest line. That constant roadblock is annoying. Previous AC games like Black Flag let you move through the main quests at your own pace. I don’t like being forced to loot caves, or loot quarries, or loot enemy camps, or loot enemy bases. It’s all about loot and it’s boring.
I heard origins was better
@@heylegxnd4673 I liked origins the most. 9/10. I give odyssey and Valhalla 8/10.
I played Odyssey as well as my longest single player experience in 2021, but I do find very awesome story and yes some missions were repetitive, but it shows to beauty of Greece. Don't forget the music by far, one of the best games I played
@@TheMrProboscis Of the three, I liked Odyssey best. Just hate those load times on console.
I actually liked Odyssey's quest writing and the first DLC was also pretty good in my opinion, but with Elysium and Atlantis it really became tedious and overstayed it's welcome.
Wow you were absolutely reading my mind lol.
Its absolutely insane when a game takes 100+ hours to see and do everything. Just thinking about the developing a game of that length makes my brain melt.
well i have like 250hrs in pathfinder wotr,, totaly worth my time, and especialy my money,, that said, other games on the list, calling them long with 30hrs is laughable...

Awesome gamesthe Mass Effect trilogy probably Bioware's best work Awesome story and characters and the gameplay is pretty good as well. I don't kno wif you've ever played the originals bu tthe remaster is very good and even fixes some of the originals mistakes.
Returnal is easily my GOTY, I loved the game so much. It took me 30 hours and 40+ deaths to just beat the 1st Biome. My overall time was actually 133 hours (Getting the true ending)
Congrats on it! I was fresh off hades so i picked up a bit faster but the game was still a fun challenge. I’m eager to see what Housemarqe will do next 😁
Yeesh I got the true ending with only 6 deaths...idk if I would've been able to hang in there with 30hrs just to get the 1st biome done 😵
@@jdrahonovsky Wow fair play. I actually think it worked out the best for me cos I got more out of the game than most. I had so much fun with it, It never felt too hard or unfair so it was always fun. Its the best game I have played in years
You have alot more patients than me. I died around 30 deaths getting to 5th and then had enough
I really wanna play returnal but I don’t have a ps5 yet so I’ll probably have to wait a while. That’s really the only game on it I want right now so it’s just not worth it for me to get one yet. I have a ps4 and a good pc and a switch so I have plenty of games to play, but man I really wanna play returnal. Console exclusives suck
Good job :)
I know Binding of Isaac is an old game, but the last expansion came out and there’s so much content and replays to keep you hooked. I’ve been playing it still and have over 1000 hours and still playing to this day.
I'm really glad Tales of Arise made it on the list, the base story took me around 40 hours with some occasional sidequests and grinding, but right now I'm 4 trophies away from getting the platinum and already sunk over 100 hours, it's definitely my game of the year, hadn't fallen in love with a game like that in a while
Returnal was incredibly challenging but equally rewarding! I recommend to all ps5 owners
I'm still debating on that...
I keep hearing and seeing it but I'm not trying to get pissed off during gameplay😂
@@MrParis215 It absolutely drove me crazy. It wasn't horrible, but if I could have my $70 back, I'd take it.
I regret selling it after I platinumed😅 loved it and will definitely play again
Until seeing these comments I thought I must be the only person that hated Returnal. I love games that borrow from the Souls formula, but this one felt way too random and seemingly punished you for having bad luck.
@@MaraxisArcanist give it another go bro
Just yesterday I watched your video list for 2020
Sunk a bunch of hours into Chernobylite. Really enjoyed it!
Far Cry 6 took me about 50 hours to 100% and I LOVED every minute of it. I haven’t played any of the DLC’s yet however.
If you love vaas as a character play insanity it’s amazing I was skeptical with the rouge like gameplay and it’s actually fun the pagan min dlc is coming out this month hopefully this week and I’m hyped
@@mertyuip06 I know I heard the Vaas expansion was fantastic
That’s cool, I’m close to 100% far cry, but right now I’m working my way to 100% Valhalla. It’s a huge game
@@filletkabob1916 I was bored out of my mind in Valhalla after 50 hours lol
@@alextownley9388 I’m like 90 hrs in and I have not been bored once, I guess it’s personal preference lol
Mine was Red Dead Redemption 2. I replayed it from the begging to get the Platinum trophy. It was amazing and well spent time
How did you platinum RDR2?! That's impressive
Rdr2 is the 1st one that came to my mind too.
@@aminotmerciful4353 thank you! Just seriously took my time with it. Enjoying it helped a bunch
This episode makes me feel like gameranx could have covered more this year
ahhh...so this is where the JRPGs went. Thanks for the great content as always. Good idea for this video btw. Be well yall!
So this one might sound kinda dumb, but I’ve kinda been hooked on shadow warrior 2, I generally like to do every single quest there is and this game doesn’t disappoint, a lot of similar fetch quests and things of that nature but I swear it’s by far one of the funniest gaming experiences I’ve had.. just need something to hold us over till Elden ring (;
I’m surprised you didn’t mention AC: Valhalla lol. That game took me forever to beat
it takes an average of 80 hours for the main story. I have it and i still havent finished it because of how long it is
I think that was 2020
Great Video.
So ai appreciate this list for showing me Neo the World Ends with You and Lost Judgement. I just got into JRPG's and am currently making my way thru Tales of Arise and absolutely loving it and both those 2 you've showed look absolutely incredible. I also have Yakuza Like a Dragon and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade to get thru as well so it may be awhile before I even get to those games but I'm glad you showed me then regardless. That's not even counting all the new Xbox Game Pass entries and Pokemon Brilliant Pearl which I am also playing eo needless to say my backlog is looking thicc as hell.
Returns didn’t get a lot of attention, I assume, it’s because it’s still incredibly hard to get a PS5. If more people had them, I bet it would of done better, because it looks really fun.
I spent the longest time of 70plus hours on Niet:Auotomata and still have yet to be close to finishing, time well spent relishing my favorite game of 2021!
i spent 20 min on the intro, died, got sent back to start, and uninstalled
@@quincyjk4154 that game sonned you hard, son. slapped the taste out of ur mouf
I beat all of the endings for nicer automata but I have to say I didn't like it that much at all.
@@soraceant Yeah the game is not for everyone but I enjoy it
@@quincyjk4154 I spent 10 hours on the prologue, on very hard, call me a masochist
Returnal is definitely my fav on this list i couldn’t stop myself from playing it over and over the lore and gameplay is challenging and fun no matter how experienced you get- great game from 2021 😁
tales of arise was soooo good. the story and the dynamic between the characters is just great
Kingdom Come Deliverance is a long and solid experience
Could Mass Effect legendary edition fit in this list? Came out last year, and I have spent around 100hrs in it. It also has quite some replay value for people that want that
Definitely, I had already played them multiple times originally and really took my time being thorough playing the remaster. It's my absolute favorite series and I'll gladly sink another 120 hours into therm.
I'm playing through the trilogy for the first time thanks to the Legendary Edition. I know I've spent 150 hours at least, and I still haven't finished 3 yet. Money well spent. 😁
@@angelserene77 Ahh, playing Mass Effect for the first time.. I'm so jealous
Very cool video
Can't wait to play Returnal, Tales of Arise, Far cry and lost judgement. They were and still on my radar
I loved neo, lost judgement and SMT V. Nice to see jrpgs taking over more and more.
Ill get pathfinder soon i think looks fun.
When he compares it to divinity i was automatically interested
SMTV is my game of the year, 90 hours in and only just maxed out the main character. Fantastic story too but I love the grind
SMTV?

I'm glad somebody finally gave NEO:TWEWY some love. Any fan of the original should play it (and if you haven't played the original go play it). Both entries are absolutely amazing
Some great suggestions, added to the neve rending list.
A game I’m just diving in to that is a really long single player game is the Witcher 3 wild hunt! The game has amazing graphics for being a 7 year old game and takes about 60-70ish hours to beat the story but can put easily 400+ hours into it if you complete all side quests and collect everything!
Literally one of the best things ever made. Not just games. Have fun my guy I wish I could forget I ever played it just so I could experience it for the first time again. Skyrim and everything else kind of just disappear afterwards. At least for me.
Try Valhalla too
These are pretty exaggrated numbers,it takes 30 hours max if you only playthrough the base story but over 100 hours with DLCs and all side quests and collectibles.
@@erichvonmanstein1952 honestly nah. There’s so many things you could find like places of power, or treasures to look for. Missions aren’t the only things worth doing.
@@erichvonmanstein1952 even monster hunting. I’ve literally spent hours just looking for and killing monsters and bandits. It’s really not hard to dump hundreds of hours into this game.
Playing Lost Judgement right now, it's so close to being a 10/10
I thought it was really good but I have to give the first judgment the edge.
@@latima123ify storywise the first one is better, yes.
I'm struggling with _old man beats up school kids_ element to it.
great game picked it up the deluxe edition in the January sale for about £35 finished the story just got to do the sidequests and school stories/clubs
@@clintbrew I'm loving it, I've not finished the story yet (Chapter 11) but I've already got my TownGo to 80% Complete. I'm like 57 hours in, and I'm really into it
Jake makes video games sound so damn fun with how he talks about them
I love the Sherlock Holmes games. The one with Jack the Ripper vs Holmes is a classic.
Minecraft, RDR2, and Days Gone are the 3 main games I've dedicated a ton of hours into.
As a gamer without the time, I wanna see a video for shorter games that I can actually complete. 15 hours or less. Inside and Little Nightmares we're spectacular short games.
Play outer wilds
Download 12 minutes.
You've probably played it but I just 100% Firewatch in a day and it was great!
@@aminotmerciful4353 yeah sadly saw markiplier play it so... no any reason to play it myself
@@aminotmerciful4353 oh yeah loved that game
jus recently got lost judgement, far cry6, and devil may cry5. really good stuff
I guess the fact returnal not getting any love despites the cool concept is just because of the platform scarcity hahaha,
Solid list really gameranx , this might be the final nail to finally makes try judgement series, i love yakuza but havent got them all to 6 but maybe its time to take a side stroll and try judgement first
