I am also a heir of a personel from Bangladesh defence force. My dad used to serve in the Air Force for more then 2 decades also he particapated in peace keeping mission in lead by United Nation during the 'Operation Desert Storm'. During that time, Bangladesh received numerous international honors and recognition as global peacekeepers. My family has a strong legacy in peacekeeping, with my uncle and other relatives also participating in UN missions in Mali and Haiti.
But if you talk about the today's situation of Bangladesh armed force, people tags the defence personels as the government's crook. And this situation took a turnover after the mutiny happened back in 2009, when Awami league won the election and handed with power in 2008. High-ranking officials, including the son of the so-called 'Mother of Democracy,' were implicated in a conspiracy to destabilize the defense services. The mutiny resulted in the deaths of 52 top army officers, creating a climate of fear regarding any potential military coup against Prime Minister Hasina's regime. Since then, Hasina has strategically placed her close family members and trusted associates in charge of the military, Air Force, police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), and Navy, ensuring their loyalty. From 2008 to 2024, Bangladesh has witnessed numerous incidents of extrajudicial killings, defense corruption, and border killings by the BSF. Despite these issues, no significant actions have been taken by the armed forces. Instead, the government has increased benefits for defense personnel, providing them with government-funded apartments and high wages by missusing public tax to secure millitary's loyalty and protect Hasina's regime. Meanwhile, the majority of the population suffers from high commodity prices, excessive taxation, poverty, and malnutrition. But these government loyalists and their families lead luxurious lives at home and abroad, leaving the people to bear the burden of their debts.

Allegations of war crimes committed by Australian special forces in Afghanistan between 2005 and 2016 came to light in recent years. Here's a summary:
Brereton Report (2020): A major inquiry, led by Justice Brereton, found credible evidence of unlawful killings of 39 Afghan civilians and prisoners by Australian special forces. The report also revealed attempts to cover up these incidents [Australian war crimes in Afghanistan: Questions and Answers - Australian Centre for International Justice].
Office of the Special Investigator (OSI): Established in response to the Brereton Report, the OSI is investigating the alleged war crimes [War crimes in Afghanistan: the Brereton Report and the Office of the Special Investigator - Parliament of Australia].
Legal Proceedings: As of June 2024, one former soldier has been charged with murder in connection with the allegations. Whistleblower David McBride, who exposed the information, also faced trial [Australian who blew whistle on alleged Afghan war crimes stands trial | Human Rights News | Al Jazeera].

Democracy came back in 2024 election. People voted bnp for new hope. BNP f**ked us all. No development
Then 2029 election came. Everyone voted Jamat. Jamaat f**cked us all. People became upset.
Then 2034 came. People voted Jatio Party. They also fu**ed us all. People now hopeless.
Then 2039 came. People voted Awami. Again f*cked.
2044 came and country became like Sub-Shaharan Africa.

Ms. Francess Harrison was a great lady who exposed atrocities in Sri Lanka. If my memory serves right she was even banned or been harassed for reporting the truth. World needs more people like Ms. Harrison.

DW has problems with everything , fighting against terrorism is human rights abuses , what about the NATO abuses in Afghanistan Syria and Iraq in the last 20 years , DW has never investigated any atrocities of NATO forces

It is the dream of everyone who works in the defense of Bangladesh to go to the United Nations peace mission. Unfortunately, their hopes were dashed.

DW's work on this is quite sloppy. Three former RAB officials went on UN peace missions this year, and DW's 'Aynaghor' documentary "proved" that RAB is responsible for extrajudicial killings. Solely based on this connection, it's unfair to label all Bangladeshi peacekeepers as human rights abusers.
While the documentary only mention Bangladesh in the title, the only clear case of human rights abuse this documentary could show is from Sri Lanka. But reading the title, no one would get the idea of it.
This seems like a provocative documentary with weak evidence linking Bangladesh.

That's true! This is a gross simplification and propaganda. They should try making a documentary about the brutality and uncooperative nature of European peacekeeping soldiers in their missions and how they are committing and supporting genocide in Gaza.
