    His answer about the US Olympic team’s gold medal chances sums up why he’s refreshing to listen to. He’s not out here giving PR answers, he’s not trying to say what’s expected. He’s just being honest and human.

    Shocked you were even able to get Embiid to do this interview. The reason he gave about not joining the french team is valid. I was thinking the same thing France at the time was having alot of issues with the frnech speaking countries in Africa. At the time I thought it would've been such a big deal if he had joined the French team because he is seen as the best African player in the nba

      Lol, stop believing this mercenary, hundreds of professional france/Cameroun players of any sports have families in many countries of africa
      No harm are done to them
      And he could have helped Cameroun qualifie for the olympics.. He was training with team USA while Cameroun tried to qualifie... It was only 2-3 weeks ago, Cameroun lost in the semis of TQO
      He just wants to win something jokic will never have lol, and the easiest way is to go with team USA

      - lol mercenary is funny.. I don't know if his family would've been in danger or not. Although I've read of fans who put on fire a football players' house because he missed a penalty or had a horrible performance.
      - But that wasn't my point I think that he himself would've felt like a traitor if he joined France because he was aware of what was going on. There was alot of tension going on between France and the french speaking countries of africa. People would've actually think of him as a traitor.
      - I agree that he wants an easy route to gold medal but that has nothing to do with jokic. That's ridiculous. That's his personal dream. He mentioned years ago before both of them started battling for mvps. He announced he was joining the u.s last year and people were already outraged. Could you imagine if a month ago he now said "I'm now gonna join cameroon?" Be reasonable.

If he and Siakam both played these qualifyers, Cameroun would have qualified easily. Probably had a chance for a medal. Cameroun, home country, Olympics, what a load of BS.

    • @beedebawng2556
      @beedebawng2556 Před měsícem

      Firstly, the USA begged him to play for them. Secondly, it's well established for many years that the Sixers requires Cameroon to have insurance in case Embiid gets injured. • @altdelete7696
    @altdelete7696 Před měsícem +4

    I will say this: The guy lost 3 years to injury. Yes three because his 2 years delayed rookie season ended after a handful of games. That's 3 years of development lost. His 30 years old and every year he adds something new to his bag. Most guys are done developed by 30. If he had three more years of development how much better of a passer would he be? How much better would he be in the post of injuries weren't a concern? There would definitely be a strong push for one of the best two-way players in history. We're talking a olajuwon like talent

  • @shabazz360
    @shabazz360 Před měsícem +10

    Talent wise he could have. Problem is the injuries, some of his own immaturity, a terrible front office for most of his career, and the modern NBA rules make it easier to defend players with Embiid’s skill and archetype.

    • @DaDualityofMan
      @DaDualityofMan Před měsícem

      How do modern NBA rules make it easier to defend him?

    • @shabazz360
      @shabazz360 Před měsícem

      @@DaDualityofMan yes modern rules actually does make it easier to defend him. Nearly every defensive scheme nowadays would be considered illegal defense before 2004. Look up what illegal defense is. There’s CZcams videos on it. This is why basketball has evolved to mainly a middle pick n roll drive and kick game because it’s much more difficult to play one on one basketball, so the modern offense is built to create and exploit mismatches. The reason Embiid’s production has risen so much is because he’s moved his game to the middle of the floor because it’s harder to send doubles from the middle.

    • @shabazz360
      @shabazz360 Před měsícem

      @@DaDualityofMan there’s more spacing but the offensive action is what creates the spacing. People say “go sit on the block they can’t stop you”. Yea right. If Embiid sat on the block all night sixers getting smoked. There’s space but not for isolations. It is definitely more difficult to be an isolation or low post scorer nowadays. You have to be proficient as a p&r player, or able to know down pull up 3s or both. If Embiid played in the era where help defense was basically illegal, he would have been the scoring champion every year. Many of those years over Michael Jordan himself.

    Jordan was respected by his peers for his achievements then and so it's only logical that respect is put to LBJ's name not to say he shouldn't face serious competition just as MJ did face. Embid needs to learn from the greats and unfortunately for him, some greats are still active to date such as LBJ, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

    It came unsolicited (and I guarantee it’ll perform poorly relative to comps) but you know that even though it’s cringe, it was genuinely well-intended. Love the sinner.
