    Great how-to. I recommend a couple shots of spray paint over the two arm bolts before removing, so when the new arm goes on, there will be two circles you can use for reference to tighten down the new upper control arm and preserve the alignment much better.

    Great video. I'm going to be doing this job (and the lower arms too) in a week or so, so I'm watching all the videos I can to get ready.

    Did this today. Took it on a test drive and when going over speed bumps I can hear a little bit of banging. The ball joint was the most difficult. Followed every step. Everything's tight. Gotta take another look tomorrow

      @tommylee9586 Před 2 lety +1

      hopefully you've fixed your banging by now... but I thought maybe a worn out or broken shock...👌

      @@tommylee9586 Yup fixed. They weren't tightened all the way. However she pulls to the right pretty aggressively after 5 alignments. Checked the caliper to see if it was sticking, looked good. Taking it to a specialist Monday morning to see if they can figure it out.

    I have 2005 Durango and I hearing squeaking noise. Do i have struts or shocks? I notice you changed out the arms and shocks on both sides. Thanks for sharing this video. Awesome job.

    • @daringmotors
      @daringmotors  Před 3 lety +1

      The setup for your Durango will be similar to the one on this truck. The squeaking can be coming from the bushings on the control arms as well as the sway bar. To check where it is coming from you can move the car up and down and try to pinpoint the origin of the squeak. Thanks for watching!

    Been looking for a guide on doing this on the 2wd version with rivets on the ball joints. Does this mostly apply? Havnt gotten a chance to check out my friends truck to compare. Screw drilling out the rivets for all 4 ball joints.

      just seeing your question they can easily(reasonably) cut out with a 3 ? lb hammer and a cold chisel safety glasses recommended if you don't have a chisel holder use vice grips in the chisel and HIT EM!!! or the heade can be ground off too
