    With Groon I believe we don't see Ki points used for the narrative reason of: He is holding back tremendously.

    Gilmore's cloaking spell narratively matches the 7th level wizard spell Mirage Arcane. 17:11

      Interesting thanks for the information. In the original moment I believe Matt just made it up but this spell does meet the requirement with some minor DM adjustment. The casters are high enough level to cast it and its description does match the effect we see. Thank you for the help. No matter how many spells I look at I always seem to miss some real assume ones that make a lot of sense so I really do appreciate it.

      Welcome. Don't sweat it. There are hundreds and hundreds of official spells with more being added all the time. Tough to keep track of it all. Much less all the stuff Matt imported from Pathfinder...

      But Mirage Arcane is too real of an illusion to actually “cloak” anything. You can burn by illusory “lava” or drown in the fake “water” of Mirage Arcane. When Vax touched the illusion, nothing happened to him. What we see outside (an empty field) is hiding Whitestone, not reshaping it. So Mirage Arcane can’t be possible.
      Edit: If Mirage Arcane is used, you can’t “erase” preexisting structures.

      Nothing is a perfect match. What we see is a miles wide simple illusion that disguises an entire community and it's inhabitants from from things outside the perimeter and, especially, from the air, that is "seen through" once entered. There's no written spell that does that... exactly.
      Mirage arcane comes closest. I could easily see something like a variant Hallucinatory Terrain or Mirage Arcane spell that can hide EVERYTHING in the area of effect from the outside existing for the people who wanna be left alone. In fact, I wonder why none has been published.
      As a reminder; the spells in the book are not all the spells that exist and NPCs can often do things player characters cannot.

      @@sadknight2826 The cloaking spell is actually described in the Tal'dorei Campaign Setting Reborn where it is channeled through obelisks of whitestone around the city. Any spellcaster can charge them by spending spellslots within that charge the cloaking spell for 2 hours per spellslot level. So it could be considered a magical item.

    Since Earthbreaker is way of the open hand, they probably used open-handed technique combined with fury of blows and stunning strike on top of that. The effects of open-handed technique being knocking the creature back 15 ft or knocking them prone or giving the creature no reactions until Earthbreaker's next turn. You can apply different effects so long as you land a hit with flurry of blows, so the limitation of one effect is a moot point when you are able to land 4 hits with flurry of blows so often with Earthbreaker's stats.

    I think the spell Allura casts on Umbrasyl is indeed Hold Monster, as Earthbind states a safe descent, which I doubt is the case considering Umbrasyl crashes into a building on the way down

    I believe diplomacy can't yet cast Silence. Iirc Tary was the one who emchanted it during the year break they did.

    I always thought Call Armour for Pike was Mage Armour. But Im not too sure the difference

    • @daekieisms
      @daekieisms Před rokem +2

      Mage Armor is typically depicted as sort of translucent, visibly magically-created armor pieces. The spell's text describes it as a "protective magical force". On the other hand, Pike is clearly wearing her straight-up, actual armor, and her entire set of armor at that -- she's just automatically equipping it via a magical effect, which means it wouldn't be considered her casting Mage Armor.
      Even aside from that, Mage Armor - on a mechanical level - is an AC 13 plus the character's Dexterity modifier modifier. With a Dexterity of 11, Pike wouldn't be benefiting much from Mage Armor! (Not that the show is technically bound to working by the rules of 5E, but they generally prefer to, given that this video exists.)

      The main difference is that Mage Armor creates armor made from magical energy and Call Armor summons the users armor from a pocket dimension.

    Hey, @SadKnight2826 , around 7:50 and 3 minutes later at 10:47 you said "Rogue", but you spelled it as Rouge, the French word for Red. You may want to fix that for Next breakdown video.
