      @@gelenebrown1754not all of it. This for sure is. The skin removal and lifts to keep ppl who lost weight or had a lot of excess after pregnancies from getting rashes/painful areas is ok. And my late grandmother had an eyelid lift because she was 93 and her skin was hanging over her eyes to the point she couldn’t see. Nothing crazy, just removed a few mm of tissue and stitched it up. All this other stuff is just too much.

    As a child, my face slid across the road from a skateboarding accident. It removes the skin from most of my face. My face was red and sticky with tiny rocks embedded in the red flesh. My dad thought I would be scarred and disfigured for life. He said that I looked like Freddy Krueger. The skin grew back with no noticeable scars except a very tiny curved line on my cheek that you actually have to look for. It healed very nicely.

When my daughter was birthing her second baby the nurses told her to take a comfort stop to pass faeces, unfortunately whilst this occurred my daughter began to push accidently and the baby was born very suddenly, when the baby took it's first breath it's stomach became full of gas and suddenly exploded in the birthing bed. The beautiful baby was pronounced as severely unwell and spent eight weeks in hospital - all because they told my daughter 'don't push '. The hospital said my daughter taking a comfort break so late in the birth was the reason her precious child suffered from a stomach explosion.

      Abdominal suture thread is WAY thicker than facial sutures, but I had a very bad injury from below my eyebrow going up my forehead for several inches. I got hit in the head with an ice hockey puck.
      The female doc at the hospital decided to use thicker thread, therefore meaning less stitches on my head, to try to close the wound more effectively (and to minimise scarring). I'd never heard of any doc doing that before at the time. It was the 80s. It looked horrendous at the time, and I was freaking out about the scar I'd be left with, but she did the most INCREDIBLE job, and you can barely see it now unless it's pointed out to you. The stitch holes were only there for a relatively short period of time from what I can remember, unlike the bruising/swelling on my face that took what seemed like forever to go away!

      @@superelectrasuperheroe4079 Oh I see. But what about pock marks on the face, from smallpox and chickenpox? In the centuries before the 19th and 20th centuries, people in Europe used to get smallpox, and wind up with pockmarked skin from the healed lesions. Apparently Queen Elizabeth 1 had pcok marks on her face which is why, like many people of that era, she covered her face with that thick white paste to hide the pitting and other blemishes.
      Come to think of it, I used to have a kind of small scar on my lip from an accident (as an adult) and it was completely gone in a few years, I think.

    • @porygon777
      @porygon777 Před 2 měsíci +2

      Why? How is it different than wearing specific kinds of clothes you like or piercing your ears, wearing makeup, or anything that changes the look or yourself or something you own? For some people, the cost of a face-lift surgery is not expensive.
      I make a decent amount of money and will do dumb small things like microneedling or botox just because it's inexpensive for me, and I'm secure enough with myself to accept that a procedure might not make me look better and might even look worse afterwards! I just like to experiment with looks the same way as a child I would take apart dolls and put them back together with different parts, and cut their hair and try to do makeup on them. If it doesn't end up looking better afterwards, oh well!!! The engaging part is the artistic process of seeing what you can do with what you have.
      So many people are so insecure with themselves that they are TERRIFIED to take chances because failure will ruin their mental well-being. They can not stand the thought of someone taking a risk that isn't guaranteed to be positive, and they loath themselves enough to feel that their looks matter so much that they best not even try to change anything.
      The only "secure" position anyone can be in in terms of body altercation is neutral. Anyone who is obsessed with critiquing their own or someone else's aesthetic decisions is deeply fearful and insecure.
