    I smiled through this entire video. Half of it was watching the star come to life. The other was giggling at the complexity of the jig and how it was making my head spin. This was a wild trip.

    I always enjoy chasing through the geometric gymnastics with you on these projects! The stars look incredible... Watching your process solved a production issue I've had. I had not thought of mounting a block to the face of a destaco clamp... That was the detail I needed!!! I hope you, Chip and Mrs. Next Level have a great Christmas and I look forward to seeing the projects you will share with us in 2022!

    Very informative, detailed and precise. I love your use of jigs and fixtures. Your take on design and fabrication is immensely satisfying, as it pays the necessary attention to the 'quantum' level of making. Good job!

    Watching this video made me realize that at least 90% of the problems I have with the things that I build are rooted in me neglecting to pay sufficient attention to stock prep. Looks like there's a planer in my future. Thanks again Matt. Also that's a hell of a fixture man!

    Here's a video idea, similar to this one, and there are practically no videos about this on CZcams and the ones that are there are not easy to follow.
    The idea is barn stars. I'm sure you've seen metal ones but I'd love to make a wood one. Big ones. There's some crazy angles for them to be 3D I think.
    Hopefully you'll like the idea.

    Hi Matt... another great video, I so enjoy watching... one of the things that graviates me to your work are the jigs. You maybe making Christmas Stars... BUT as I'm watching my brain is thinking JIGS. The tools (those JIGS) you make, make woodworking fun and enjoyable... Jigs are those tools and you are a Master of them. As always I watch 2 or 3 Videos each morning with my coffee this was one and also I bought a DW735 a couple of months ago so a refresher course this morning on your videos on the DW735 Planer. Been making some cutting boards for Christmas gifts and experimenting with size and add on features... using Jigs. You do a great job before the camera... I know personally about how hard that is... I don't get editing it's live of me... believe me your excellent, you make it fun and at the same time interesting and educational... so I'm out here watching, learning and enjoying. All the Best, keep up the good work... Bob.

      It's especially meaningful as I sit here looking at other wood ornament videos in the What To Watch Next selection and notice how many exceed the 18K views this video got in the last year. Not all views are created equal and it's rewarding, from a creator's view, to learn viewers like you find enough value in a particular video to take the time to add a thoughtful comment.
      Best,
      Matt

  • @MikeyDonna
    @MikeyDonna Před 2 lety

    I must say this is the most complicated video I’ve ever seen anyone make . The end result is out of this world (pun intended) The only thing I would suggest is to make the cutting of star pieces & assembly first. That way myself, for example , could determine if that part of this project is within my skill level. Learning how to laminate and square the basic pieces is easy compared to the cutting , and assembling. Star making is definitely “Next Level”
